Raq sure did whatever was necessary to get the target off Kanan’s back.

I would have thought they would hand over D-Wiz to Nique for his people to get satisfaction/revenge. Instead it was Lou who killed him in an alley. When Raq said "Reggie Jackson", I thought there was going to be a beaten with a bat.

At least they showed him some mercy and got him a woman before his end came (that didn't sound right).

Interesting twist when word gets back to Kanan: D-Wiz got in the car. I can't see him breaking away from his family over this. When he confronts them, they'll make it a teaching lesson about the streets. I can see Jukebox being conflicted over this.

Curious Raq and Lou kept Marvin out of the plan.

Detective and Nique underestimates Raq. They are going to look foolish.

A little surprised (the way kids talk in school) Davina didn't get word it was Kanan that killed Buck.

Davina got a nice right cross!

When Davina's mom came in to the school, (by her voice) I thought she was Tameika.

Show has some funny lines.
Marvin: "Somebody bought their weave in all infested and got into the walls and floors". HA!
Juke box: "Dad! I'm 'straight'".

By the way Jukebox looked in the bathroom/singing, I thought she got food poisoning or was that her reaction to her first kiss?!

At the cemetery, Nique was giving Raq that long stare as she walked away. Feeling he'll try make a move to get with her soon.

Symphony! You had your chance to get away from these people. Don't say I didn't warn you!

Bodega owner is going to get what's coming to him for hitting his wife.

One minute it's raining in Queens, then it's clear, then it's raining.

I can’t get over how amazing the acting is in Book 3.

There’s something about the characters that make Ghost, Tasha, and Tommy look like amateurs when it comes to formulating plans to protect their children.

What I thought they were gonna do is get to D-Wiz’s brother that just got out. The way D-Wiz went out was brutal. They essentially gave him a ‘last meal’ before killing him, taking him to a club, partying, and sex.

I thought she sounded like Tasha’s mom. As I heard her voice before she came onscreen, I’m like ‘they couldn’t have hired the actress for this role, did they?’

I was skeptical at first but the acting is getting to me. Lou is starting to be intriguing. Him giving Famous specific orders for Jessica was funny/desperate.

I thought the same about D-Wiz's brother too.

I can see Tasha's mom. I always thought Tasha was younger than Kanan/Ghost and wouldn't be in high school yet.

Yes. I thought they were going to frame D-Wiz’s brother. When they hired the sex worker for him I assumed they would kill him while he was distracted, and then I realized he trusted them, no need for that- it was a “mercy”.

Given that D-Wiz was actually there and could’ve been the one to kill Buck, while I am sad, I understand. He put himself in the game and he should’ve know this was a risk. Raq may have liked him, but she was going to protect her own son. From this episode we have learned Omar Epps character grew up in the neighborhood and knows everyone. I don’t think he is crooked but he is pragmatic. And Raq got to where she is by stepping in for Kanan’s dad. But Raq isn’t a “Ghost” level yet- where are her legit businesses to clean the money?

I think if Kanan is 15 in 1991, Angela, Ghost & Tommy are maybe 9 or 10 years old. I always thought Tasha was the same age as them- maybe a year or two younger. The original Power showed up in 2014- and Tasha & Ghost were grown with (young) teenage children, we we are thinking it went close to real time, they were likely born around 1980 to have 13/14 yrs children in 2014.

I wouldn’t expect to see Ghost & Tommy until there’s a time jump in season 2. Although Ghost did mention they were corner boys for Kanan, so they could’ve been middle school aged and doing that in 1994/5.

Kanan has started turning cocky already, at least at home where he feels safe. But what was that thing he picked up off the street in front of his house?

Why was Raq staring at the woman in the bodega so hard? Clearly the woman had been beaten by her husband and isn't much of a factor in the business deal with Raq.

Symphony makes a great alibi while you got your muscle out there giving the streets a body.

Me too until I started trying to make her age line up with Tameika's a few decades later.

I still can't keep all the characters straight but other than that I'm loving this show. I think it's the best of the Power Universe--so far. Still waiting to see what they're going to do with Tommy's book.

A bullet shell?

I think the woman is a factor. The brother knew about the place talking to the wife. I think the wife is fed up being abused and is making moves to get rid of the husband, but can’t be overt about it.
