All I could think about at the end of the episode was: “Give the kids a house!  Anyone of you, horrible horrible absurdly rich people!!”

Now, we're finally getting somewhere with the overall plot. I loved the spooky take on the closed circle mystery genre. And using the Tarot cards as magical murder weapons was really inspired. I also liked Jess getting her moment of romance, though I'm afraid she lost all memory of that. Poor Spike. The love triangle is starting to shape up but so far it hasn't thankfully taken over the show. Seeing Bea slipping her hands under the blanket at the end was a nice bit of continuity.

But this show is still an odd mixture of really good scenes (Billy and Bea by the fireside) and inconsistencies. Why would Billy know how Roman numerals work? Bea knowing what a compound noun is was already a stretch. And apparently Leopold's guardians are quite the opposite of the last Tsar and Tsarina of Russia who never let their hemophiliac son out of sight. Also: someone as high up the food-chain as Mycroft Holmes would know members of the royal family.

And finally: they should probably hang a bell around Jess' neck. Her tendency to run off got her nearly killed twice now.

Leopold was the 8th child of Queen Victoria. The timeline fits, and he had hemophilia. he died at 30. He married Princess Helena which matches the show.
