I was even more convinced in this episode that Filip is going to kill Marco at some point. Marco isn't going to make it easy though. He is completely insane and evil.

How is Naomi still alive? Besides plot armor, that is.

This episode was a slog to get through.

Given that this season is about the destruction of a good portion of Earth - you would think it would be exciting - but nope.

Marcos killed this season.

Just got to this episode in my re-watch, and I love it even more.

I remain glad that Naomi got a few moments alone with Filip - away from Marco's malign influence - to tell him her side of the story. I know that conversation was playing in Filip's head when he made the choice to leave the Pella at the end of season 6. 

I know there were some fans who didn't like Naomi's season 5 storyline. The story was viewed by some as soapy, and others didn't like seeing Naomi be vulnerable. But I loved her journey in this season. Was her plan to save Filip a good one? No. But one thing that came through Dominique Tipper's performance throughout the season is the tremendous guilt and shame she's carried with her since she left Filip. We saw in previous seasons how that choice haunted her, and now, being faced with the consequences of it...well, I'm not surprised that she wouldn't behave in the most rational way.

As a book reader, I have always loved Naomi's leap from the Pella to the Chetzmoka. In that moment, she understands that she did all she could to save Filip, and he chose his father. She still loves her son, but she's not going to kill herself trying to save him. 

If the emotional conversation between Naomi and Filip wasn't enough, we also got the awesome Rocinante/Zmeya battle (go Bull!) Didn't expect the Zmeya to blow up. Marco just loved having people die for his cause.
