Sharpie66 November 10, 2019 Share November 10, 2019 (edited) I just saw a movie news YT video from Thursday that talked about the fact that he studio had a review embargo until that morning—not a good sign of studio support for the film. Ticket sales are 60% older men, not a typical opening weekend crowd, so I think the embargo worked on suppressing bad word-of-mouth stopping that crowd from getting out to the theaters. Rotten Tomatoes has critic rating at 41%, but audience rating is 91%. I have a feeling Dad will still want to see it next week. One review suggested waiting for the Sam Mendes WWI film 1917, coming out in wide release just after New Years. Though they do a job of trying to present the Japanese as sympathetic (in general). I do have to laugh at so many patriotic American war movies where their major characters are played by English actors.
