I'll come home from these dates sometimes and say....well that was a waste of expensive makeup lol.

Do we know for sure it's Leslie?  If so, I'll root for her, although I, too, didn't love her sexy dance.  Cringe.

My late husband had an single employee who had a date she was looking forward to ( think it involved a concert)  it was so long ago I don’t remember what  was wrong with the guy but she said the next day “ I shaved my legs for that? “

  2. It was so nice today at one point it was 77 here in CA , it lifts my mood tons.  My condo community has had several of our cluster mailboxes opened and emptied with master keys 6-7 times in the last 6 months

Then 2 weeks ago I was sick for couple days and had an RX  taken and a package from Jockey.  Lucky thief got heart medication and black briefs, very sexy.  I changed the RX mail order address to my sons house and of course they sent it signature required so had to get the slip and then to the post office to pick it up.    I went to to pull my license for ID out of my phone and it’s not there.   My son finished my taxes yesterday and took a picture of my license and I didn’t put it back.  The song and dance I did for the postal employee convinced him to hand over my medication.   If this the procedure I’ll switch my address back since I don’t have to sign for them here obviously.    I had a package stolen off my porch 3-4 weeks ago so now my subscriptions from Amazon are going to my sons too.  My HOA is $655 a month but unfortunately cluster mailboxes are the post office responsibility and we only have part time security ( who I’ve never seen) with no phone number to call.  I feel very vulnerable being a older woman living alone. I wouldn’t go to a movie at the shopping center at night and I wrap up grocery shopping before dark too.   Age+ increased crime

The earthquake discussion reminds me how my late husband from PA would get pale during a quake where I hate storms and lightning.  I was at work in a tiny bathroom that had a couple of empty medal revolving greeting card holders in that 89 quake. Pitch black with metal racks falling on me and I’m thinking so this is how I’m going to die with my pantyhose around my ankles?  I NEVER went to the bathroom at work so my fellow employees thought I must be locked in the walk in refrigerator that had big medal electric sliding doors has been a bank previously . If you're talking about the black (gray) and white USA flag scarf, I think it represents that the promise of America will not quite reach its full potential until we have achieved "liberty and justice for all." When we get to full equality of opportunity, the flag will be resplendent with color.

I didn’t recognize it as a flag . I’d not heard of that representation so I did a lengthy search both of her wearing it and meaning of such a flag.  I only found a reference to gender neutral, and back three years ago a black white flag having something doing with Trump.   And 5 years ago a single person  who hung a black and white flag “representing economic  struggle and inequality as well. Missing colors representing corrupt politicians and corporations that have drained our once great nation the missing red represents lives lost in vain, blue missing representing middle class workers”

There are hundred of pictures of her wearing similar scarfs dating back 2015 in London and 2013 a red white and blue flag scarf as she’s done many times in NY also. I’ve only noticed the washed out grey and stars and dark stripe is apparent in this days scarf. She’s worn really ragged ones to formal  events and variations hundreds of times. Can’t seem to buy one though. Interesting one picture was when she was sent home for 2 weeks for saying the Holocaust had nothing to do with race.
As shown my confusion below  I didn’t recognize it as a flag.

I love Whoopi’s sweater but see she dug up that old gray scarf again.

I may have to check out Valerie’s cool book. That all looked yummy.

I love some of her print jackets but geez when she hauls out that tired scarf.  Hope this boyfriend is deserving of Valerie. I just this second got a notice that Valerie’s speech was cut in 2 places.

    Who's him?

Sorry I can’t link so probably Off topic

His show was brought up here a long time ago it’s called Megan McCain Is The Worst.   He’s kept the title but talks about the show among other things. He doesn’t have a big audience but I enjoy him

  6. Where is everyone. ?   I usually watch a YouTube show after watching the show but have been  catching him first lately and he’s pissed ( and rightly so) about the discussion that Ana commented men are useless, and her gay men comments . Has she lost her mind? I’ll tune in to see Chelsea and hope she saves the show.

  7.  Jevees.  My son more or less saved an employees life during lockdown when she logged into his roll call online in the morning and  appeared online for a couple of days.   He was only a manager for couple of months and his employees are not even in his city nor does he know them age etc.

He texted her twice in the morning with no responce then called her twice at noon with no responce so then called her ICE sister who also worked for his company in another city.   The landlord of her apartment couldn’t just open her door he had to call police who first had to talk to my son. She’d been laying on the floor for  3 days and had a stroke related to Covid.  Her computer was frozen.  So very proud of him.   So I asked him how he determines if I’m alive ?  Does he look at Facebook to see my political rants?  I was being funny but he said yes.  So yes I also wonder because he often goes a couple days without texting plus I don’t rant anymore.
I’m in a condo community that I go weeks without seeing a  neighbor nor do I really know any.( 3 moves in 4 years).   My 2 best friends will be moving to northern CA due to cost of living and they don’t really check in unless they know I’ve been sick. We used to live very close to each other   I seem to get into a funk and don’t go to the store for days.  I eat like crap not cooking etc.  Just year ago I would go to the movies and i was the go to babysitter  when grandkids would be sick and staying home from school. I wish I was religious ( had a therapist recommend church because that’s where her friends are.). I didn’t open the link but do I understand you have to check in with them?
I am looking forward to sunshine it helps my mood a great deal, and I’ll open the link —- later

  8. Ana called Dr. Phil out too but his segment came to an end. His remark in response to Ana that that they were the least vulnerable. Really? That’s like saying old people should be willing to die for the economy..
My daughter-in-law is a first grade teacher where her 2 boys go and I can’t tell you the weeks I’ve babysat one then another over the years.  She was lucky during that time the school let her use her empty classroom to teach on zoom since she lives in a small house where my son was working too.  She’d  have to teach many ESL parents how to use a computer or program. Teachers aren’t paid enough!
I loved Richard Lewis during  his whole career. I’m saddened.  Along with Gilder Radner, one of my favorites Mitch Hedberg and the hysterical John Pinette. Comedians are my favorite people on the planet.

Why did Cam say that he would say yes on decision day if Clare says yes?  That made zero sense.  And he basically told Brendan that Clare wasn't offering support because no support was needed, he was either in the hospital or recovering at home.  Aren't those 2 scenarios when you would actually need support?  I think he is just a really odd person.  And it sounds like he is still blaming the show and Clare for causing stress that may have caused his condition.  In looking up what he has, it doesn't seem like its stress related.   I have no idea why these two keep claiming they are such good friends and describing each other as "the best person they've ever met" but yet they don't even seem to want to talk on the phone (esp Cam), never mind see each other.

I feel the same way about him he’s just odd. I’m too lazy but will look it up but he first indicated most can be treated by medication but he needed  surgery.  I have a relatively non worrisome heart condition that can cause tachycardia so I am w ordering what he’s talking about.  If two guys are double dating while still under contract I’d think it would be reason to not be paid in anyway or sued.

  10. I was shocked about the years of monthly “migraines”  with no follow through too. Geez.  I remember him having to go to doctor before being very sick. . Yep time for new doctor.
It caused was me to have a nightmare about my son whose has had many bouts of traumatic medical issues and hospital stays. I dreamt my son was in the hospital and I forced myself awake but couldn’t go back to sleep. Normally when I do this I lay there and think of all the failings in my life but this morning I realized how I was beside his side and being his advocate from birth to now at 50  ( he’s also  hard of hearing) He has a lovely wife and 2 grade school boys but I’m the one whose is  at the hospital 6-7 hours.   Can’t turn off that mother worry  just because he’s grown. They’re idiots not to have pushed the issue before this.

When I got married in the 70s, “The Prophet” by Kahlil Gibran was big at weddings. I wonder if that would be acceptable

I’ve had to move so many times in last 16 years and gave so many books away but came across my copy of The Profit in my jumble of boxes in the office.

That always cracked me up on “My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding.” The women were all blinged out, dressed way over the top and the men would come in jeans with tank top undershirts or vests with no shirt underneath.

Don’t even ask how I started watching those again and even fathers wear very casual clothes. One I saw a couple weeks ago groom and his party all had baseball hats on backwards.

I'm still wondering about her stitches!!

They look like "train tracks" and certainly not what would be done on the face and would leave a wide scar. Those look like they need to be cut out.

A plastic surgeon can make a straight line with dissolvable stitches.

Probably  OT  but I’m still in shock from this week.  . I took my best friend

( whose husband doesn’t drive) to get the surgery for droopy eyelids.

He got the one on lids themselves that most are familiar with ,and then one where the surgeon cut across eyebrows and the bone is shaved leaving scar in the eyebrows. The second one very much sounds like cosmetic but his insurance paid.   Anyway when we go get him on surgery unit I swear my heart stopped.   He looked like a clown.  Perfect half circle stitched eyebrows up high.  I’d not heard of this eyebrow lift to help vision but he was saying previously that women don’t get it because of scaring.  On research they DON’T get it because women have less eyebrows and hair.   They were cross stitch and he’ll have those removed in a week. I hope cream that helps scaring works.

I just couldn’t accept  Michael’s attire.  Sorry. .   I notice on the after-show he’s cut his hair.  Even if she wants him to tone it down I don’t see him willing to do it.  And maybe he shouldn’t have to.  Let’s see who was the guy who wore a odd nightshirt or gown in bed every night?

So I have my first ever colonoscopy scheduled on the 15th.  I have been doing the "Fit" test (which is like Cologuard) for years but I know I need the full colonoscopy to find and fix polyps.  The problem is that I am super-sensitive to everything and have had problems with OTC laxatives in the past.  The procedure center wants me to get Dulcolax and take 4 tablets the day before and then drink magnesium citrate.  I am worried about the Dulcolax because I've avoided OTC laxatives other than the all-natural kind for decades because of intense bad reactions, like nausea, etc.  I remember feeling awful for days afterward on just one dose.  That bad.  I am not as worried about the Magnesium Citrate because I take magnesium daily and don't know of any reason why that would cause a bad reaction.

I am also worried about everything else to do with the procedure.  I have had surgeries and 3 endoscopies in the past so you'd think I wouldn't be as worried about this, but even under the best of circumstances it takes me longer than most people to bounce back from anesthesia.

So anyway I am petrified at this point.  I have a call into the nurse about this and hope she can help calm me down or give me an alternate laxative.

Any kind of advice or support would be appreciated.  Thank you!

This late response but although I’ve had my share of colonoscopies I was nervous to have endo and colonoscopy couple months ago so asked GI  office if I could take 1/2 tab of a low dose Xanax I have when leaving home.  It helped for couple hours but they ran so late and was like a assembly line in there.  The medication they give always wears off almost immediately never said anything amusing on way home. One of the drugs like propofol at least makes you forget any discomfort.

I found the whole Hart/Vergara schtick exhausting and wanted Graham to exert a little more control over the never ending banter.  That being said, Alan Cumming is on my list of people I'd love to have dinner with one day, I think his life has been fascinating and he's positively charming.

    More Alan, less nonsense, please...

I haven’t watched on my DVR yet but my love for Alan runs deep. May I join  you at that dinner?  So moved by Not My Father’s Son.
I would turn into PBS just to see him introduce the program. Think I went  OT there.
