  1. I really think 48 Hours is the gold standard in the crime shows.  My two complaints are too many repeats that contain little new info and they tend to focus on more well-off people.  Dateline does a wider variety of stories.

I just did not like Anne Bender.  She had no redeeming qualities.  She and her husband's house did not seem like paradise at all to me.  I really do not think they had anything to do with the locals except as worker or bodyguards.  Depression is an awful illness that I have suffered from for years. I don't however think I can cure it on my own.

In the end I thought it really was most likely an accident.

    Just wonder what others think?

  2. I am from Iowa, had not heard of this case.  Sad.  Sometimes two hours is too long for what was a pretty straight forward case.  Feel very sorry for the neighbor.  They were only married for seven months, that blows me away.

  3. I loved the way Morrison was slyly ridiculing the secretary/mistress. Criminals who attempt to use the name of Jesus as a, literal, get out of jail free card, irritate me.

What better revenge for the wife than a stand-up career making fun of the cheating, murdering, buffoon of an ex-husband?

Agree with both of you.  At first was not sure how to take the wife, but that scenario would be hard to fathom.  Glad she got to thank the guy who ratted out the plan.  This"lowlife" who actually valued peoples' lives, over the respected banker.  He got off easy.

The girlfriend and banker should also thank him as this would be an easy plan to solve. They would have done a lot longer in prison.

  4. Completely agree. Don't get me wrong, I feel very bad for her daughter and her grandson, my sympathy goes out to them, I've lost my family and it sucks. But I;m not going to spend a whole lot of time who said "...that Gina DeJesus and Amanda Berry (two of the women held in the Cleveland human slavery house by Ariel DeJesus)should not complain: "They got to live rent free for more than a decade . . . One of them has a book deal. Neither are in a psych ward. They're OK. I bet you within three years one of them will be on Dancing with the Stars." (italics mine for clarity).

Seriously, Three women were held against their will as sex slaves for years and that's your comment. And then have the audacity to be offended when asked to apologize (,,,but I'm a comedienne..). Go fuck yourself.

Wow,just wow!  I did not hear that one.  I was upset because she called Kanye and Kim's baby ugly and thought that was bad.  No, I'm not a Kimye fan.  Just some things are off limits.  I think some of the out pouring of grief was because it was on the heals of the truly genuine Robin Williams death.   Rivers was on every D-list reality show she could book for her and her daughter --, Celebrity Wife Swap, The Apprentice etc.  She was not A-list at all.

Just bitter that she skewered Elisabeth Taylor for years and people seemed more broken up about her(Joan) death.

  5. Where is everybody?  Hellooo!  You are all over at the Kenda thread.  This will take some investigating.

Friendperidot, I see what you mean.  Why for any reason would you show the victim if she was identifying the murderer?  First thing that came to me was they were trying to scare her.  Does not make sense.

There is no Snapped thread so thought I would post here.  Is anyone familiar with the Kristen Lobada case in Nevada?  It is IMO another case of convicting the wrong person and I came here to bitch.  It just bothers me when a young person or any person is sent to jail with very little evidence. The prosecutors always say hey they were judged guilty by 12 people.  I hate that.

  6. I know "what a surprise."  This good, religious man actually killed his wife.  He was so smarmy in his interview.  How could anyone who devoted their life to Christ do such a thing?? He planned it out for quite some time.

At the end, he just could not understand what kind of mind could think the murder was a Valentine's Day present for his cold girlfriend was worse than the murder itself.

  7. The saddest part of this season is that I can't stand it if Derrick wins, because I just don't like him and now apparently he'll get even more money by winning. I can't imagine how pissed other winners might be at the thought of Derrick coming out with $575K (500k+50K for "TA"+20k actual TA money + 5K stupid Holla money)

Agree 100%,  I guess I'm mostly done with the season.  I can't stand smug, pug-nosed Derrick at all.  He treated Donny terribly and was not even truthful in the DR's.

I know this show is about lying and deception.  In season 14 when Dan used the bible to persuade Frank, it was just too much for me.  And not because I am that religious.  It was because Dan was.

  8. Squee! Even MORE insight into how Frankie got to be the famewhoring boy he is today.

“I think she does have a little bit of a diva thing going on, I don’t know if that’s just part of the image she wants out there, like ‘I’m a young Mariah, I’m a diva,’ because I remember, I think it was at the AMAs, she came up on the platform, and normally I stand on this side [her left side] to the camera — I had to fight 13 years to get this side to the camera, it’s my good side, but I fought 13 years for this, OK? Little Ariana comes over, I feel like BING, elbow in my side, I’m like ‘what’s going on?’ and they push me to the other side. So I had to be on my ugly side. But I felt like a little bit of a, you know it was like ‘you either get on the other side or we don’t do an interview,’ and I just felt like it’s one thing if it’s Mariah, you know, I’ll get on any side, I’ll bend down, I’ll climb a ladder, whatever it takes to get Mariah to do an interview. But when you’re new on the block, when you’re trying to earn your stripes, you’re young, you just gotta do what you gotta do, try to get a great reputation, try to go overboard to please people.” - Guiliana Rancic

The problem just HAS TO stem with their mother. I mean, come on!

I think this clip says more about Guilliana than Arianna.

  9. I just do not want Derrick to win.  He is such a backstabber.  He insisted on all those unanimous votes and was crappy to people who were being voted out.  Starting with Brit.  He wasn't as vile as some but he was far from nice and he lied to the fans all the time.  I just cannot stand him.  I also hope they shun him after his big lie.

    • He preyed on Victoria.
    • He is very controlling.
    • He has won very few comps.

I just don.t like the guy.

  10. Deadly Women is a show I still watch but I am conflicted about it.  It is sooo melodramatic and sometimes downright scary.  When I see a case after I've seen it on DW I can hardly recognize it.  It really shows how OTT it can be.  Wicked Attraction also has that same intensity but I can't watch it.

When murderers and criminals are shown in an interview talking rationally it humanizes them.  They become less of a monster.  So sometimes I think maybe a show that focuses on the true evil acts are the more accurate.

  11. Fliptopbox,  I have seen the Lobster boy story many times and this is the first I have heard about him murdering the boy friend.  Usually they talk about the video found of him wrestling with his family-- he was a bully and a TV station got the sound to it and changed the story.  Grady became sympathetic.  He was handicapped but also very strong.  Sad.

The Benders were really scary and were never caught.  They vanished.  Never had to pay for their crimes.  So far I am liking Evil Kin.

Walnut Queen,(Did you like the countdown to Kenda?) i too will be watching Heartbreakers.  What can I say, I like Lifetime.

  12. Some people have mentioned The Giver.  I like all of the series and the book was so original when it came out.  One thing is I really like Jeff Bridges.  I just think he has integrity and is a decent guy.  My hopes are high.

  13. Thanks for the suggestion Roamyn.  I do believe she did it.  In the Lifetime movie she was naked when she killed her father.   That explained her being able to clean up fast.  For a time there was a show on the History Channel where detectives solved very old cases.  Maybe not solved but gave their opinions on how the crime was done.  I only saw two cases.   Lizzy Borden's was one.

  14. Oh! good suggestions for movies to watch.  Tall Hot Blonde is one I would recommend.  Directed by Cortney Cox and starred Garret Dillihunt,"Burt" From Raising Hope, it was a true story and probably one of the 1st catfish stories out there.  The mom was using the daughter's pictures and luring men, just for the heck of it.  One guy ends up dead and Garret's character killed him over a woman he had never met.

The father and daughter moved away, they were so disturbed by what the mother had done.
