  1. The Browns were watching Meri's question to Kody about how he would feel if she had other husbands.  On the couch watching the scene, Kody explains how it was a 'gotcha' moment for him.

<blinks> Did he really just say that?   I was sitting there, expecting that he was building up to offer an apology, but then... no.  He really believes it was an insult for Meri to ask him that.  She didn't ask him to HAVE empathy, she just wanted him to THINK about having empathy.  It hurt his penis that she would think so little of him, that she would dare have him consider such a vulgarity.

  2. The Browns have once again missed a marketing opportunity.  As soon as Robyn (I mean an anonymous internet user) leaked (I mean innocently asked a question about) the divorce\wedding, they should have had a new pendant available on MSWC:  Lady Justice, her blindfold askew, holding her scales of justice; one scale contains two broken wedding bands, the other side holds two new ones (both scales perfectly in balance).  In her other hand she holds the Book of Mormon.  Along the bottom perimeter runs the words “Recte Restructura“  (latin for “Legally Restructured”).

  3. Who filed for bankruptcy last - how long ago was Meri's?  Has Robyn filed bankruptcy before?

I'm trying to figure out if Kody is getting away from Meri so that Meri can file soon (right before they would lose the house) -and it won't go on his records? So that he can file later?  Sorry, I don't know about bankruptcy law, and I know I could Google it - but honestly, y'all usually explain stuff better than Google.

There is a financial component to this.  There must be.  Grifters may work short grifts here and there, but they are always looking for the long con.  I know this entails the Browns actually thinking ahead - but when $ is involved ($ that falls from the sky, not $ they actually have to, you know, earn) they seem semi-capable of doing this.  I don't mean their plans are good, or that they would\will work, just that it is the only time they can think of the future.  At all.

  4. My favorite from Sunday night:

Kody (to Truely):  "High five - high five!"

Truely (turning away): "No thank you Daddy".

We also know that Truely declined sitting next to her Daddy on her birthday.  She is always so polite about it.  I'm thinking of how future conversations between those two will go:

Kody:  "Truely, do you want me to take you to the playground?"

    Truely:  "No thank you Daddy".

Kody:  "Truely, want me to come to your soccer game?"

    Truely:  "No thank you Daddy".

Kody:  "Truely, want me to teach you how to drive?"

    Truely:  "No thank you Daddy".

Kody:  "Truely, do you want me to walk you down the aisle?"

    Truely:  "No thank you Daddy".

  5. Kody (to Christine):  "You are not being accountable for your emotions".

Christine (to Kody): "You are not being accountable for your thin, scraggly, unkempt hair.  Cut it off or shave it".

Well, in my imaginary brain, that's how that conversation should have gone down.

  6. These people are very hungry.  They have subsisted on rice\beans for weeks.

There is no WAY she 'forgot' about food in her bag.  Absolutely no way.  She is simply trying to make herself look better after the fact.

  7. They still have a machete?!  Well then, get crackin'!.

I think that is right?  Somebody correct me if I got it wrong.  I thought he took one, but left them one...

And yeah, they still could have picked sh*t up off the ground, even without one...

  8. It is not enjoyable to watch people suffer to that degree.

It's not?  I enjoyed it.  As many posters have pointed out they COULD have reinforced their roof (he didn't take all the machetes, they still had one); many, many, many other tribes have survived without a tarp at all.  Also, the tribe (at least the original tribe members) could have thought, or I don't know, maybe we should RATION the rice?  Then they wouldn't have been in the situation at all...

But then again, I'm the person who was disappointed way back in Season 1 to find out they were giving them ANY food.

  9. I also don't like it when degrading remarks are made about a woman's natural body.

A person who has CHOSEN to have extremely large silicon implants placed into her body?  I'll snark on that all day long.

To my eyes there is no difference between making fun of this, than making fun of the bagel-heads (saline injected into the forehead).  Both are examples of a culture obsessed with appearances; the difference being ONLY that one is normalized; one is fringe.

  10. You're a good cat cooksdelight.  :)

Ok - back to Julie - does she have a shot?  I can't tell, it's too early.  I DO think that those who have their 'blood' go early can work the angles a little bit differently than those where both sides still remain - they are, in effect, a free agent.

  11. I'm not picking on you cooksdelight, I promise.  I did edit our my previous comment, it was mean spirited, I was not saying she was in porn, just that her enhancements are porn-level-big.  The one I left is not much better I know.

I know you want to defend her because you have met her - and I really do get that.  But she is dating Rocker.  Some of us that have read what he himself (not a magazine editor) has written see him as not-a-good-guy.  Julie is going to share some of that as her views must be similar to his - if not, she would not be dating him.

  12. Edited because if you can't see the silicone, you are blind.  Her 'enhancements' do not look natural nor attractive, but they did get her a douchebag boyfriend and a stint on a fading reality show.  Dream big girls, dream big.  Sigh.

  13. For the Rocker supporters - what do you think of the twitter rant posted in the very first post of this thread?    Or is that ok?  It was last year, not decades ago.

I don't buy the argument that 'that's not real life, it's twitter'.  I don't refer to women as c*nts in real life, nor do I do that in twitter.

  14. He is still on the roids.  It's pretty obvious.  You can still be fat, and on the roids, he doesn't have the discipline to eat right, and probably way overdoes it with the anabolics, so he has this really weird unattractive body.

Which is hysterical because he probably thinks ' I'm jacked! '

  15. What I remember about the motorcycle - when them were 'escaping' from the evil state of Utah, one of the children was told they couldn't bring one of their toys (because they were trying to cram everything into the moving van).

They made sure to have a towing trailer for the ass-king's mother****ing motorcycle however.

May the fires of hell burn every scraggly lock of hair from this fools head.

  16. Sooo... MSWC put up Autism Awareness bracelets for sale.  People started asking 'are the proceeds going to charity?'  MSWC immediately pulls the bracelets from their website

Now they are back up for sale - with the obligatory 'some' of the proceeds will be donated, blah blah blah.  Oh please - we know that means one penny from each sale will be donated to a real charity - the rest will go to the charity known as MSWC.

At the bottom of this blog post (I'm not good with links, it is the Sept 2 post if a new one is up) - go ALL the way to the bottom:

Edited to add - thinking it thru a bit more - I'm not sure I believe they will even donate a penny.

  17. There was a discussion to change the general chat title (I love the new title BTW!) - could we change Christine's also?

    I'm thinking something like

'She Wanted a Family, Not Just The Asshat' (Douchebag, King of Idiots, Kody-Clown, really too many to list here).

'She Wanted a Family, But She Got A Bunch Of Crying Adults and 1 Ass-Clown.

    etc.

    Anybody else?

  18. Soooo.... it took me six days to get through this episode- these people are seriously boring.

The one thing that keeps coming back to me (unwanted!) is the way that Kody said whatever he said 'I can pray in Hebrew' (that may not be exactly what he said - I refuse to go back and rewatch LOL).  It was the way he said it that I took his real meaning to be 'I can say it in Hebrew because I'm special.  I'm unique.  I'm better than you because I know how to do something that you can't do.  I wish I could show you ALL the ways in which I'm special, but since we don't have time, I'll just do this one thing - I'll give the blessing in Hebrew.  I hope you understand how honored you are to be in the presence of someone so interesting'.

  19. Yeah, this show is seriously ... boring me to tears right now.  Even the expectation of 'drama!' next week with the RV trip doesn't interest me - we already saw 'drama!' with the LAST RV trip they took.  Usually I love to watch Kody have his little baby tantrums, but even that doesn't entice me anymore.  I may have to opt out of watching and just let you kind people here on the forums catch me up if something interesting happens....
