  1. I realize this is becoming a pattern for me but didn't like anything about this rebuild. Mina began the design of the home with a clean slate.  How could she (all of them, actually) go soooo wrong?

The outside siding choices were beyond ugly, not only in terrible color combinations but the overall design as well.  So ugly.  Mina et al are REALLY loving that vertical siding look lately. (There's a specific name for it but I've wiped it from my brain.)

She's also into gold fixtures BIG TIME.  I can accept gold is becoming popular again but I still don't love it.  I should probably give her a pass on that.

Let's talk about the mural...  Eeeeeek!  Let's not.

How can a home be built in 2021 with no way of moving large pieces of furniture in or out of the house?  How?  Doesn't Indianapolis have building codes/rules.  Don't they have home inspectors?

Last thing...  What was the first floor about?  You walk in the door and head directly upstairs.  Why?

  2. In the end, I felt bad for the female homeowner.  I’m not at all convinced she was  completely happy with the final design.  She was clearly pleased with the new bifold doors and the remaining original cinder block wall, but you could see in her eyes as she looked around that the feel of her grandmother’s home wasn’t anywhere to be found.

We have all seen how little it takes to trigger Erika's temper. They not only questioned her story, they told her that they had meeting about her, and she sat there, barely reacting. Yep, she was totally stoned. Not a good night to drive herself, which was obviously another ploy to show us how poor she is now. As if we don't all know BRAVO would provide her with a driver.

I believe Lisa informed Erika about everything that was discussed at the meeting, days ahead of Kyle’s dinner.  It seems Erika had about a week to mentally prepare herself and come up with a plan.  Therefore, I don’t think she was stoned.  I believe she was ACTING.

I agree Chris likes trolling Amy, I think he likes getting her get riled up for some reason.  It’s like some kind of weird foreplay.  I think he uses sarcasm in his humor, in general, but it probably sticks out even more because Amy is bossy on the show, yet often wrong in things she says.  Like getting the drinks mixed up, but insisting hers should be picked.  This makes it’s harder to feel sorry for her sometimes.

About the only time I do, is when Chris starts making jokes with Matt.  I will say I usually see Chris as the initiator of those conversations.  I think Matt probably agrees, but sometimes tries to laugh off the response because he knows it will be on air. I neither like nor dislike Amy.  I can say that about pretty much all of them to varying degrees.  Sometimes, Amy irritates me and sometimes I think she’s fine.

However, I think the worst comment Chris actually made on the show was the poker comment about Caryn.  I don’t know whether Caryn and Matt actually had an affair, but I think Amy thinks they did.  I think Chris’ comment probably triggered a fear in Amy that she could be cheated on by Chris. Hell, she might even have thought he was thinking about Caryn.  I don’t think he was, but at least some of the Matt stuff I think is producer-driven; however, I think Chris came up with the poker comment on his own knowing it would push Amy’s buttons.  It could even be seen as trying to take a dig at her self-esteem, but it didn’t stick out as much because she tries to steamroll him over on the show about various things: wedding favors, outfits, etc..

I know a lot of this is show generated, but it will be interesting to see how living together for a long period of time affects their relationship.

What was the “poker comment”?  It went right over my head.  Thank you.

DING, DING, DING, DING, DING!!!  The hammer just hit the nail on the head!  Sutton is deflecting attention from the fact that she came to the party giftless.  And I imagine she's feeling left out much like she did when all of the girls were in on Kathy's practical joke on the girls and the reverse joke they played on her.  Everyone there collaborated on gifts or brought their own gift but her.  Crystal's grin when Garcelle opened the gift she went in on set Sutton over the edge big time.

I agree and when Crystal threw the word “jealous” at Sutton, I think she was referring to the birthday gift scenario.  Crystal could sense Sutton was mortified when she realized she didn’t bring a gift, in general, and was completely ticked off when she saw Crystal, Kyle, and Kathy had chipped in for one and they didn’t include her.  Sutton was jealous, embarrassed, and angry.

  6. Hmmm....  I thought the siding color was supposed to be dark grey with black trim but light grey siding was ordered in error, by Tad, so they went with it.  I don’t remember black siding ever being an option.

  7. I enjoyed the finale and am looking forward to next season.

Lucky Lim.  Happy to see her begin to develop a relationship with someone after the death of Melendez.....especially a person who is so darn easy on the eyes.  Oh, my.

I was shocked to see the show lost AT.  She was never one of my favorite characters but she will be missed.

Very impressed with Freddie Highmore and his knowledge of so many languages.

Thrilled to hear Leah and Shaun are engaged.  I love those two.

I can’t remember Dr. Andrews wife.  If I did, I might feel something about their separation.

As for Morgan and Alex...the jury is still out.  I love him.  Her?  Meh.

The dog, waiting  for his master at the end of the episode, was heartwarming.  Awwwww....

Now that the season is over, I can’t help but wonder why they hired Josh Malina for 30 seconds of screen time. I kept thinking he would come back and be important later in the season, but nope.

Somebody help me out, please.  I don’t remember this actor nor do I recall how he was entwined in any story this season.  Please help refresh my memory.  Thanks.

  10. I was completely shocked that Kate would end up marrying Philip five years in the future.  It never even crossed my mind as a possibility.  (I will say, I loved the actor in the role he played earlier this year on A Million Little Things and was sorry to see him go.  In fact, I STILL want him to return!)

Someone upthread mentioned the possibility of Madison wearing the earrings her mother had given to her, years earlier, during the future scene.  If she’s wearing them it means she did find her true love.  However, that doesn’t mean it’s Kevin.  While watching that scene, I spent the entire time trying to spot an engagement or wedding ring on her finger but her left hand was off camera 99% of the time.  I wasn’t able to see Kevin’s left hand either.  Did any of you?  I was always a Sophie fan and wanted to see Kevin and Sophie together in the end but now I’m not so sure how I feel.

As for Tess.  If I were her mother, I would have told her to grow up, wear the damn dress for the day, and move on.

The child actor who played little Kevin during the flashback of this episode is a complete doll.

Did I blink and miss the special guest? No? Oh, wait, it was the first ever adhesive bandage! Didn’t hear “sterile” mentioned, guess it’s assumed, since the whole show is sterile (there really needs to be more mud-a lot of it). At least in the beginning, the husbands and sons who worked in the mine were covered in coal dust.  I found the wall of curtains and glittering lighting in Elizabeth’s home to be impossibly distracting. I doubt the cottage even has a wall long enough for that span of sheers (she worked at school all day, too, so....must be the fairies). Enough. I’m still here, watching, I guess, because of the plot ideas put forth, even if poorly executed, and anachronistic (I’ve long since given up checking online, “when was the first.....”).
Oh, I forgot! Will Nathan be stricken with tetanus? Again, don’t really care enough to find out when.....

The final scene didn’t take place in Elizabeth’s home.  It was set in the town’s library.

  12. It’s way past time for April to move on.  That character was hard for me to tolerate.  Natalie?  Meh...  Whatever.

I agree with the poster who said the negativity they feel about these characters is not the fault of actresses but that of the writers.

  13. I’ve got a gut feeling that Mouch will die during a fire rescue at the end of this season.  He’s been receiving accolades from his coworkers recently and now we learn he will be awarded some sort of official commendation.....which could be a sign.

I still enjoy the show but admit to being sick to death of Stella.  I do hear some of your concerns about storylines not being as compelling as they once were, and agree, but I tend to think that could be Covid-19 related.  My guess is that the city of Chicago didn’t allow a lot of filming on their streets during this time.
