I programmed the midi version of Cheers into my Commodore 64 when I was in middle school, but it didn't make me cry.

I'm wary of the upcoming Gotham series but really would love for the streak of great DC TV to continue.

At least Marvel is making a Jessica Jones series for Netflix.
I am very excited about this. Alias is one of my favorite comic series of all time. I don't even get tired of explaining that it's not the Alias people think it is.

I think watching the two Thors and Iron Man 3 would fill in some tiny references you may have missed, but overall, you are probably fine.

Something about Piz's job :
Isn't This American Life produced at WBEZ in Chicago? Weren't they supposed to be in NYC?

Fanwank alert! Fanwank alert! Fanwank alert!
I have watched a LOT of Doctor Who and Star Trek in my day. I can't help it!

I posted in another thread that maybe they are in the same Google+ circles and maybe there was some weird Android picture auto-sync thing going on. My phone pulled down work contacts pictures from Facebook somehow sometime (even though we weren't friends) and now I have really weird pics when they call.

Oh that's great about
Mac working for Veronica. She did have an awful lot of monitors for just helping hack a password

I was driving down I-75 on the way to Florida when the link to the download came in. Even though I wanted to pull over and watch it right then, I had to wait until last night. I don't have a lot to add to the discussion since I am coming in late, but it was great!
Some thoughts:
It was great seeing Weevil again, but unless there is a larger plan to have this resolved in the book series, it would have been better to leave him out and not have Celeste shoot him for no reason. But, maybe Mac is at Kaine Software for a reason and there are PLANS.
The bit with Leo and the pizza was great but it was hard for me not to see Schmidt.
And strangely, I didn't hate Piz. I felt kind of bad for him.
I haven't listened to the EHG yet where they talk about the movie, but I read a comment about Dave maybe having a problem with Logan's name and number being on her phone. I justified this in my head as them being friends on Google+ or something and her contacts syncing somehow. This happened to my phone with Facebook and it was weird.
On Audible, it has Kristen Bell listed as the narrator for the audio book, so that's going to require a listen.

I guess this means I will have to watch the Batchelorette for the first time ever to pull for my hometown guy.

I asked for (and received) Sarah's pick after listening to the mini.
I am told that the Comic Book History of Comics is a great introduction to the history of comics, graphic novels, etc.

Hey all,
Some of you may be interested in an online class that is about to start. I took the last one called "Gender in Comics" and the next one is "Social Issues Through Comic Books". It's free, it's a mooc as the kids are calling in these days, and it is an excuse to read comics and feel like you may be learning something.
If it is like the last one, you will read some assigned comics available through comixology or elsewhere, maybe read an academic paper or two, watch a few clips of the teacher, and then there will be a live interview with the comic creator via youtube. It was fun.
The teacher suggested that you organize into smaller discussion groups, so if anyone on the previously.tv forums happens to be taking it, let me know because I am looking for a discussion group.
All the info you might need is here: http://www.supermooc.org/ or you can jump straight to signup.
It starts on March 10!
(I just found the list of this year's comics in the syllabus.)

When Doctor Who came back in 2005, I thought Rose was great. I think her and Nine were fun together. But the Rose+Ten stuff did get pretty sappy towards the end for me. I never started to hate her, and I would totally watch a spin-off of her and Clone Ten in the alternate universe if it ever popped up.
Spoiler for 50th Anniversary:
I liked her appearance in the 50th as the weapon, but I did sort of want to see the real Rose back for a bit and see how her and Eleven got on.

It kept sounding like Simmons was trying to get a hold of "Dr. Strange." If only.
I was only half paying attention and actually thought that for a minute.

I really thought they were going to go from the old couple knowing each others stories to "Well, better start telling them to the kids"!

I thought about a misdirect also. Since we had the Barney/Robin switcheroo about wedding attire, I thought maybe they were alluding to a switch in what we think is coming. So, if we are lucky, Ted is about to die.

Book 1: The Thousand Dollar Tan Line
in Veronica Mars
I started this earlier today. I'm not too far in since I had to go to work, but it picks up about two months after the movie. I downloaded the audio book since Kristen Bell was reading it and I thought I would get that TV show narration feel.
