  1. I like to go to the big panels and Dragon Con will usually have some pretty big names but this involves waiting in a lot of lines. Once we get tired of the lines, there are also dozens of small panels about weird topics like the Georgia Guidestones or whatever.

The dealer rooms are fun, but you can get all that stuff online now. The art show and artists alley are awesome, but I never get sketches. I will buy prints and get them signed usually.

  2. I just finished this; stuck with the audiobook. (Also, no whispersync means it's way more annoying to go back and forth between the audiobook / kindle...come on, Amazon.

Whispersync started working halfway through! I've never had it do that before.

  3. I am not looking forward to seeing that plastered on all the books! I'm still recovering from the loss of the DC bullet.

  4. I go to Dragon Con every year since I live an hour away. That thing has gotten huge and almost unmanageable, but I keep going back! The mainstream comic guests are usually so-so, if any actually come. But the Artists Alley is awesome with people selling their lesser known stuff. I have picked up some great things.

Maybe I should check out Heroes Con, that might be more my speed.

I've been to ComicCon in San Diego twice, but the west coast is a long way from Georgia.

  5. While we're waiting, what did y'all think about the most recent winner? Sarah wrote about her here.

My wife and I replayed on the DVR to see Jillian and Bob's reactions. This is was the first time I thought someone had looked better on the ranch than at the finale.

  6. I've been watching Doctor Who since the Tom Baker days also. I get confused a little still that Doctor Who is as big as it is now. I really enjoyed the 50th and am looking forward to an older Doctor again. I don't know that we need to know

    why Twelve looks like Frobisher

    , but I'm interested.

  7. I never really posted on TWoP, but still read recaps there and Mighty Big TV back when the internet was young. But I am a huge fan of many shows Aaron Spelling and wish I still had my Aaron Spelling website I made in the 1990's. But I will always talk about 90210 and will answer Badd if someone asks me my favorite color.

  8. The Small Talk topic is for:

    • Introductions
    • Off-topic chatter
    • Having virtual tea with forum buddies
This is NOT a topic for actual show discussion. When you want to talk about the show:
    • Figure out the nature of the topic you want to talk about
    • Look for an existing topic that matches or fits
    • If there is NOT an existing topic that fits, CREATE ONE!
Examples of topics that populate show forums include (but by no means are limited to):
    • Character topics
    • Episode topics
    • Season topics
    • Spoiler topics
    • Speculation topics
    • In the Media topics
    • Favourite X topics
    • ...you get the idea
    Happy trails beyond Small Talk!
  9. My wife subscribes to audible so we had a credit already. I went ahead and bought the kindle edition also, but it doesn't have whispersync. My commute to work is about 5 mins, so I will probably use this as incentive to go to the gym and listen.

Lisin is way ahead of me, so I'll jump back in the thread when I have finished!
