Betsy danced more than 50% of the guys who just served as backdrops while their pro partners twirled and shimmied around them. She out danced some of the women too. Tommy put more steps and hip action into his routine than several of the other (younger) guys. Go, Geezers!

S19: Betsey Johnson: 80s Fashion Icon

The prop malfunction really messed with the ending of her dance. But, she added the cartwheel and splits anyway! Love this woman's spirit and hope that she sticks around a few weeks. -
S19.E01: Week 1: Performance & Judging

The scores were ridiculously high for a first show of the season. Show has definitely jumped the shark. -
Watched this one yesterday on demand. Thought the football player's wife was extremely uncomfortable the whole time. The rapper &family were good sports about the rules change but the follow-up notes were so discouraging: they're partying harder than before and Nautical is still playing video games and going to auditions. Where's that work ethic and breaks that his dad was talking about. On the other hand' the Vegas fiancee seemed to have a positive influence in the lives of the football player. Maybe he'd just needed to be challenged a bit to participate in his children's lives and activities. Building the tent, sharing burnt cookies, going to swimming lessons ... All good. And Mrs. Football Player seemed to totally approve the changes.

Ok ... Glad that all the condos had good bids. Glad that there was no backbiting and sabotage with the couples. Feel that the auction order affected the final bids. And that the sister's condo should have sold fore more. -

The auctioneer says the sale is subject to something for the buyer, didn't they pre-qualify the people who are bidding? -

I like the sisters for the win. Yes, they have a lot of orange touches throughout their condo but they are easily removed. Their kitchen has a great backsplash, new appliances and a closed area for the washer/dryer. They didn't rob space from the 2nd bedroom to expand the bathroom. Their bathroom is nice even though (according to Nicole) they should have added a shower curtain. Their back yard is practical, not cluttered, and drought tolerant. John & Whitney made some mistakes with their uncentered tile in the bathroom, cluttered yard, poor kitchen layout (even after adjusting it), adding the empty frames to the wall. And, they used touches of that teal throughout ... maybe a more popular color than the orange but still might not be everyone's taste. Curtis & Amanda ... yikes!! They had a lot of great ideas but didn't know how to edit themselves and include those that were more generic and less suited to their specific taste level. The twins came along once they realized that they had to finish things. Their decorating sense isn't strong but they made quality improvements to their condo. BTW ... these are smallish (approximately 1000 sq ft) condos. That may limit the number of families with children who'd even be interested in them. -
Congrats to the final four!! All of them are deserving: Ricky for his absolutely beautiful lines ... Valerie for her joyful spirit ... Jessica for her gracefulness ... Zach for his adaptability. All of them have bright futures ahead! That having been said ... I'm not looking forward to another season like this one. Too much blahblahblah from the judges without saying anything ... too many contemporary routines ... too much angst in the routines ...

This is the info on the auction company's website ... http://bidkw.com/auctions/view/274 Says the units were auctioned on May 17th but doesn't give any spoilers (i.e., prices realized). There are some good photos of interiors and exterior. The pool is literally right outside the young married's door. I think the brothers have the unit next door. So, they have some grass and a tree in front of their place. You can enter the property address into google maps and see the street view of the neighborhood ... 1119 Sonora Avenue Glendale, CA 91201 ... looks like this is the only 4-plex on the block. -

John & Whitney seemed a little snarky when they didn't get the win. Yes, they added value with the under-stair storage but their custom stairs and the picture frame arrangement make it hard for anyone to easily change it. I feel that Curtis & Amanda got the win because they added the most value with the least money spent. Glad that al the condos are up to code and approved to sell. Would kinda spoil the producers plan if they weren't. -

Just a general observation/question ... anyone else think that this show is an extended audition for a "show of your own"?? Seems they have the requisite diversity in teams: Twin brothers who do construction Nice looking younger couple Sisters who have good design and construction skills Kooky couple -

My main question with the guest rooms is: why did three of the teams only have window coverings on one window? The brothers were the only team that had window coverings on both windows. -

Young couple may have to be especially creative with bedroom #2 next week. Bumping out the wall during the bathroom challenge made that bedroom smaller. Disappointed that the brothers didn't win but am happy that the extra prize this week is having David as an advisor on the next project. Mmwahhhaaaa! He didn't exactly help the last time he was on. -

Brothers have to finish a project before they can win. And they aren't working together very well at this point. Sand pile in the back yard? Great idea if you want to attract every cat in the neighborhood. -

Arrggghhhh!! talk about sharing the wins ... just so there isn't an obvious favorite. Again, I'd give the win to the sisters. They ran into an issue with hanging their additional storage but they fixed the holes and covered them with some pictures. Couldn't really see much of a difference David made in the couple's kitchen. He should have known about placing the stove & refrigerator, yet he spent his time painting those two panels that in the dining area. Brother's kitchen looked good until the cabinets were opened. They may be great carpenters but their expertise requires time ... which there's precious little of during the competition. So, big hair blonde team won but they busted their budget doing so. Personally, I'm not crazy about their tin backsplash ... looks cheap. Glad the teams finally got together and called out the contractor on prices. Those were ridiculous estimates. Do the subs think that because HGTV is footing the bill they have carte blanche? -

Enjoyed both episodes so far. The sisters are doing the best job of making a house generic enough to appeal to a wide range of buyers. They seem to think through each challenge and use the contractors wisely. IMO, the married couple that bumped out the wall are a close second but they had the design flaw of uncentered tile ... and what are they going to do when it's time to redo that second (now smaller) bedroom? Big hair couple are customizing everything too much to their individual taste level. And they try to do the work themselves without knowing how to measure or miter corners. Anyone who buys their condo will have to redo a lot. The brothers are such a sad story. They have good ideas but no sense of time management or finishing details. If I was a homeowner in Austin, I sure wouldn't want to hire them for any reno work. -
S11.E08: Top 18 Perform, 2 Eliminated
LizBug replied to Mya Stone's topic in So You Think You Can Dance
The dances and dancers are blending into a mishmash for me. There's not enough difference in them. Also, what's up with the faces that Kat keeps making when the judges are critiquing the dancers? Several times the camera caught her doing strange things with her lips. Finally, they tightened the shot so she wasn't on camera. -
What happened to their regular contractor? Usually he's right on top of what needs to be done.

We'll, if Tony appears on a future season, he should be among the first to be voted out.
-
With such animosity, maybe Tony was afraid to be in the green room with everyone else earlier.
-
Wow ... Spencer is making a better case than Tony did.
-
Jeez ... That's the most Woo has said during the whole game.
-
Definitely a few shocked faces on the jury. Should be an interesting final tribal. Will there be Ponderosa footage of Kass? That would be really interesting.
-
Tony should have remembered that he sucks at challenges. Then he wouldn't be in this position.
