  1. Just finished episode 10. What a brilliant, complex, beautifully-acted, beautifully-written, funny, sad, touching, unique series! One of the best things I've ever watched.
  2. If they (Tim and the producers) are trying to be so considerate by not having Char's model be exposed on the runway, why do they then film her in the workroom with her flank hanging out for the whole viewing world to see? And why isn't she wearing underwear? Wouldn't the peplum/top froufrou cover up underwear lines?
  3. There's a thin line between "craft" (utility) and "art". I think craft can be artful and even "art." Many lovely and useful objects can be found in museums. Weavings can be used on walls as wall-hangings. Blown glass can be both functional and worthy of grand galleries. Etc. etc. And paintings can be considered to be useful; they can enliven and beautify walls and rooms, bring aesthetic pleasure, create and change moods, and enlarge people's understanding, perceptions, and understanding. Posters are initially functional items to publicize events or places, but many of them have earned their creators the title of "artist".
  4. I think Fade was tremendously dispirited—and entirely justifiably—by the lack of recognition his great designs got from the judges. I thought he made elegant, beautiful, sophisticated, and, yes, thoughtful clothes. I would've given up too. How confusing it must have been to see his work dismissed so easily as middle tier, when inferior designers got accolades. Go, Fade, go like the wind....somewhere where your excellence is appreciated and rewarded.
  5. Did the "losing" contestants get paid anything for all their work???
