  1. According to PureDWTS it's not him, John Stamos or Rob Lowe.
  2. I'll bet it's Sharna. And I wouldn't be surprised to see a 14th couple added the day of the cast announcement. If I remember correctly, the results show was being brought back for at least the first two weeks which means they could shuffle things around to accommodate extra contestants.
  3. Or on the flip side of the coin Julianne could be even tougher on Derek than he deserves just to try to show she's NOT being biased. However you look at it this is just a bad move.
  4. I think the other reason Julianne was the wrong choice is the pitting of two fan bases. There's definitely a Chmerkovskiy vs. Hough thing going on, at least among the fan bases, and it really needs to stop already. Julianne wasn't even on the radar when the talk was of Maks taking the job so It wasn't really an issue then. Now that Julianne has "stolen" Maks's job away from him they've pissed off not only Maks's fan base but a lot of casual viewers of the show who aren't in either camp but are tired of this seemingly turning into the Derek Hough show. The smart thing would have been to find roles for both Maks and Julianne that were equally relevant if they really wanted to have her on the show too. If Maks comes and sits in Len's place the few weeks he's not there he looks like just what he is - the second choice consolation prize. I'd really be surprised to see him do that. Head choreographer obviously isn't happening for him since Mandy Moore is already working on the premiere pro number. Not to mention most fans want to SEE Maks, not the other pros dancing his weak choreography. I keep seeing people on Twitter talking about bringing him on as a mentor. What is he going to do, mentor Derek and Karina and Tony? The pros are the celebrities's mentors - they don't need Maks around for that. And anyway what's he going to tell them - don't piss off your pro, listen to everything they say, don't talk back, have fun, bye? As many cans of worms as they may have been opening by making Maks a judge, I think they've now opened a whole lot more and it's going to blow up in their faces.
  5. Count me in with those who don't like the move. I don't like the idea of a fourth judge and I hate the idea of it being Julianne. She should NOT be judging while her brother is competing. Same as Maks should not be judging while his brother is competing. I can only imagine the new producers were hoping to cash in on the successful Move tour the Houghs just completed, although I also have seen mostly negative reaction to hiring Julianne.
  6. I don't mind someone tied to the show so much. But there are plenty of former pros who do not have a sibling competing. That should have been reason in itself for neither Julianne nor Maks to be given this job. After what's gone down I can't imagine Maks would say yes to that. Had they not brought on Julianne sure. But now? I don't see it happening. And with JLo apparently back with her ex-boyfriend I can only imagine what Maks and Lizzie will come up with now to try to keep him relevant.
  7. Sunny, I think the last "genuine" season was Season 10. It's the last season I truly enjoyed and since then I think it's been downhill with everything you mentioned, along with producer manipulation, ridiculous overscoring and judges inconsistency.
  8. I don't think Maks or Julianne should be a judge when they have siblings and other personal relationships competing on the show. I wonder if Maks would have come back as a dancer if he'd known he wasn't getting the judging spot. He seemed to hedge his bets and then suddenly made his announcement on The View right after a trip to LA. I thought they'd worked something out. Julianne's failed acting career and potential return to the show should probably be a lesson to Maks about giving up a "sure thing" and what you're good at to try to pursue an acting career. Especially since he really doesn't have any talent as an actor. Riding who is/isn't he sleeping with rumors in the tabloids isn't going to turn him into the next Tom Cruise. The producers gave him a second chance after a year off where the best he could do was appearing in a country music video. No other exiled pro has gotten that opportunity though a few sure seem like they'd love to have it. I think he's got terrible people guiding him and his career and while this new agent is a step in the right direction, I think it might be too little too late for him.
  9. I was also surprised at how softball the appearance was. I was expecting a train wreck. Good for Maks for not bowing down to Kirstie. He had to know going in that becoming friendly with Leah would lead to this. And good for him for speaking out about it. I'm sure Kirstie's off the charts pissed that he took this public.
  10. I don't consider Nicole to be a professionally trained dancer. A singer who dances, yes. But to my knowledge, Nicole was never professionally trained or experienced in any kind of ballroom dancing, compared to Meryl and Charlie who I watched perform a quickstep with my own eyes during the Olympics. I don't care about the differences between dancing on a floor and dancing on ice -- they were professionally trained in the style of dance this show represents. And if you want to say Nicole is a professional dancer then you'd have to say the same about Mya and Sabrina and Mel B, which negates the idea Maks has never had a ringer of his own before or a partner capable of winning. For what it's worth, I don't think any of them should have been on the show either. But TPTB don't seem to want to listen to me. :)
  11. He also had a professionally trained dancer as a partner. That certainly gave him an advantage no one else had or has ever had before on this show.
  12. And his celebrity pushing him away so he can pretend to stumble or fall down. LOL Everything we do, Radish, we do it for you. ;)
  13. Definitely a matter of opinion. I don't think Derek makes his routines all about him at all. I'm not a big fan of his but I think his choreography is fabulous and the Emmy nomination well deserved. And I don't think Maks's choreography is as bad as some make it out to be. It's just filled with lots of time wasting and, if a showmance is being played, some level of fake or real kissing.
  14. According to what Lizzie tweeted, she selected the dances to submit without Maks's knowledge. I'm not saying that's actually the case but that's what she said.
  15. While Meryl might not have been aware of how bad the repercussions would be once the show was over Maks certainly was. This isn't his first rodeo. He went through the same thing with Erin and to a lesser degree Brandy and Kirstie.
  16. I wonder if JLo will be appearing too. LOL
  17. This is how Maks operates since he took on Lizzie Grubman as his manager. He loves to cry private and then fan the flames to the tabloids. He loves to throw crumbs to various fan groups to keep hope alive so those people will continue to speculate and show interest in him. He loves to talk out of both sides of his mouth and his ass all at the same time. Compare this tabloid frenzy he's put himself into back to when he was with Erin and a story came out about him and Madonna. Within a couple of hours, he took to Twitter and said it absolutely wasn't true. End of story.
  18. Thank you. It's no different than what he does with any of his former partners when they come to NY. There are even pics out there of him having dinner with Hope Solo after their season when she was in NYC. Quite frankly, I think the Tumblr crowd and the ABC crowd have reached a level of delusion that's starting to border on obsessive and frightening.
  19. I also think it's no coincidence he had such "difficult" (for lack of a better word) seasons/partnerships with Hope and Brandy considering the previous seasons he was coming off of with Kirstie and Erin. Remember he took the season after Mel off. And he basically hates all his other partners. LOL
  20. Not to get into anything about Hilary, but if you don't think Maks was obsessed with winning the mirrorball then you haven't been paying attention the past few years or reading and listening to his interviews since the season ended.
  21. Hilary also has a connection to Maks as he choreographed Chelsea's wedding dance.
  22. Lizzie will follow, like or retweet anyone who gets Maks publicity. She was all over Kirstie Alley like white on rice after his first season with her, publicizing every single thing she did with or without Maks. And Kirstie was never her client. Ding ding ding. Perfectly timed. On purpose. He's not? I haven't heard that. Just his usual double talk like we get from him after every season about how he's probably not going back but not quite closing the door in case nothing else is going on for him. Besides, if Len does retire, Maks will relocate himself permanently into that chair until they give him the job.
  23. What's the difference? She said they weren't dating and people still kept loading down her Twitter and Instagram asking when she and Maks are getting married. And with Maks playing his usual "it's between me and Meryl and no one will ever hear it from me" game, she can stand on her head and shout it off a rooftop and it's not going to change anything. If you're as private as she says she is, you don't play coy (either way) or retweet pictures you know will continue to fuel the fire. Personally I think Meryl is starting to enjoy all the all the media and fan attention on her personal life.
  24. Maks has been skating around questions about dating his partners for years. He's handled himself just fine without her intervention. All part of the great PR plan. Meryl has no idea what she's gotten herself into.
