  1. Anna who bought a house in Iceland is a friend of mine, so I can provide some additional background. She has a full time+ job in NYC, so moving upstate would take her away from that job, which doesn't really exist outside of major metropolitan areas. She went to Iceland a few years ago and fell in love, and started going a few times a year - flights can actually be quite cheap, and she doesn't live very far from the airport. So she decided to invest in an apartment there. She rents it out most of the year and then has a stable place to go with the kids when they do make it over.
  2. Everyone, including Sarah and Erin, who lost a lot of weight was coherent and looked good. And the twins were super flabby and had that Rachel-esque glassy eyed state. Enjoy having less arm muscles than Hope, Luis.
  3. I love that Richard called the show out on mental health. I'd always assumed they had counselors there. It's kind of malpractice that they don't.
  4. Oh, having the judges see right through Manbun's talking up his own restaurant (and his tattoos... why?) during service was so satisfying. Seeing him go home, still dumbfounded that cooking only food from his restaurant did not take him to the finals was even sweeter. There are chefs this season who are actually being innovative (Marjorie, for example) and cooking things they've never made before. Phillip is lazy and I'm glad to see him gone.
  5. Her "spouse" may identify as genderqueer or a-gender, which would require her to do that if she wanted to respect their wishes. There's an interview with her on AfterEllen in which Karen identifies as queer and femme, but we have no idea how her "spouse" feels. Yeah, it's very obvious, but for me it's a shrug at the end.
  6. I really really enjoyed when Marcus introduced Detective Yee. I cackled almost as loudly as when Alfredo asked for permission to date Joan. Two belly laughs out of a drama is more than I get out of most sitcoms. Well done, Elementary!
  7. I believe it was that they lost their immunity if they gained weight. To prevent waterloading shenanigans.
