  1. Yeah, but he set it up perfectly for us all to yell at our screens, "I wish it was you too!" So, there was that small satisfaction. I wish Tamar had not made such efforts to come back this week. Don't get me wrong, I haven't been wishing for her to be out. But she obviously has been sick and is not giving herself time to get better. It doesn't sound like she's going to ease up on her schedule this week, if she can help it. So with tonight's scores, and the people who won't vote for her even though they do like her, because they figure she'll be too sick to continue, I wouldn't be surprised to see her out next week, when Alexa would have most likely been safe. But, that's the way the reality show crumbles. Separate thought - why exactly did they need to wax Alek? It didn't seem like he was the one pushing for it. Why did they need him to have a super smooth chest to allow him to open his shirt? It's not like he was Chewbacca furry. What's wrong with showing some chest hair?
  2. Agreed with the above. I was surprised to find that the contract is still going through the courts now, though. I wonder if it always takes this long when they have a minor contestant? Also, very cool that Bindi's mom was okay signing something saying she makes no claim to the money Bindi makes from the show. Not all parents of celebrity minors would do that.
  3. No, it doesn't sound like kidding at all. She seemed to be teling that story as a funny example of how much she really wanted to be there, not as a joke about Carlos being competitive. Sounds like he was really surprised she'd even want to be on the show any more if he lost. I hope the fact that other people are daring to encourage her in the thought that she's a person on her own is sinking in.
  4. Calling the 15 year old "stud." STOP IT. Others on the show went kafloooey (appropriately so IMO) when Willow got called "sexy" in the commentary last season. But the 15 year old boy? Yeah, sex him up..
  5. Agree. They're making her seem very one-note. Also, the "Why do you have to play such a dominant male character in our dance" worked fine last week, but this week when your theme is Mad Men? Well, that would be why. It made her come across as arguing for the sake of arguing.
  6. Alek: "I am NOT sexy." Me: "His dictionary is broken."
  7. But she didn't exit gracefully, she was complaining about 'wanting to continue dancing' and the 'rules' when the feed was cut I wish it had been handled more gracefully by the show, too. Of course they're going to try to string the audience along: "we'll tell you later whether she will compete and whether she will be able to stay on the show". But it really seemed like they held out hope to Tony and Kim, too. (Or am I just that gullible? But it didn't seem like they were acting.) I wish Tony and Kim had had the "rules," or at least the decision, explained to them clearly beforehand, so that on the live show they could have just done the "it's too bad, by next week she would have been fine but we understand this is how it has to be" bla bla. The whole Pleeeeeease and Can't you bend the rules was just uncomfortable.
  8. There have been several instances in the past of contestants being judged on their pre-recorded dress rehearsals, when they were injured and couldn't dance on the live show, but weren't injured enough to take them out for the season. How did the "rules" allow that but wouldn't have allowed some way for Kim and Tony to dance from Atlanta? It's a show and producers can do what they want, but I don't buy that this was just some strict adherence to "rules."
  9. I was pleasantly stunned, if there is such a thing, that Noah did not get the usually obligatory all 10s for his final performance. I'm really glad that Rumer and Val won. I enjoyed them the most of the three. Len was really all cards on the table, wasn't he? He came right out and told Alison that he often just didn't enjoy her style of dance. I thought it was pretty clear that was directed at Alison and not Riker. And told Rumer it would be a travesty if she didn't win. I agree that I wish they had done a better farewell for him. I'm hoping to see him back as a guest judge in the future, though. The concept of little Derek and Julianne was good, and those kids were fantastic, but the violent (to my taste) choreo freaked me out. I wonder if the kids mirrored that exactly. If so, I'm not surprised that wasn't on camera. At the very beginning of the show when they first put the camera on Robert and Kym, I thought for just a second that Kym was flashing a ring on her finger! But no, just my imagination. :)
  10. That would be FABulous! I have prepared myself for them to win. I was actually surprised they weren't called safe tonight. Nastia deserved to be in the finals but I'm glad Derek isn't, and up until this season I was a Derek fan. I feel like he was allowed to crap all over the show this season. I'm glad Val said what he did in that "tell us why you want to win" segment about "I've given this show my undivided attention." With the way the judges scored Noah this season, clearly NOT giving scores based on how specific dances are supposed to be danced, Carrie Ann needs to have a bucket of water dumped on her head if she deducts points for a lift ever again.
  11. The more he talked, the more I thought, Be quiet, Axl Heck. Your awesomeness is not as awesome as you think.
  12. Yes, I loved this. "Are we dancing in the chair or singing in the air?" Great stuff. :)
  13. Yeah, what was up with that? "Look down at your phone when you vote! This is their number! I'm saying this for a reason!" Well, what was that reason? Did something happen with the voting last week? That was weird. The way I thought he was originally describing it (maybe I was crazy) was that he would be sort of disguised and would turn up at the end as having been next to Andy the whole time. I might have thought that was cute. Or if he had attempted to blend in with the rest of the others. Inserting himself between Sasha and Nastia at every possible opportunity? Would have been clever if this had been the trio dance.
