  1. I'm surprised so many people saw Glen, Maggie, Eugene and Rosita's reactions to the massacre so negatively. While it is true everyone in that church (with a couple exceptions) has done terrible things to survive, that doesnt mean they wouldnt still have human reactions and be disgusted, shocked, mortified by a brutal massacre happening right in front of their faces. Look, we all agree the Termites had to die and if I was in Rick's group and he said to me "diebartdie, pick up the AK-47, we're gonna go kill them thar Termites to death now." I would totally pick up the AK-47 and go with him and help kill the Termites to death. If he said that and then we snuck back around, trapped the Termites in the Church, allowed them to threaten and get WAY TOO CLOSE to our most fragile, precious team members, and then Rick, Michonne and Abraham just slaughtered the fuck out of the Termites, I would be pretty freaked out too, EVEN THOUGH KILLING THE TERMITES WAS THE RIGHT THING TO DO. That shit was so far over the top, I was more grossed out by that scene that either Bob's leg or the trough scene. The reactions Glenn, Maggie and the others had made sense and did not in any way read as "judgemental" to me. Killing bad guys is one thing. Doing what Rick did was really just uncalled for. As another poster upthread said, (paraphrasing) the only reason to do it like that was to send a message but there was no one left to hear that message.

  2.

That is really dangerous because people are counting on [Tyreese] to be able to fight.  Rick is convinced he's the best person to protect Judith.

Well now I think I might see how Judith might not be long for this world....

  3. Hey yall could anyone direct me towards getting some technical help? Everytime I try to like a post I get an error saying something like there was a problem storing my vote or something. Anyway just point me in the right direction please? Also, and this is something I can't really get into but.....if you are a Directv customer, AMC is going to be running scary messages about how Directv is going to drop AMC. I can tell you for sure, that aint happeneing and AMC is contractually obligated to continue providing all its content to Directv for at least the next 6 months. Please dont freek out....and dont call Directv to complain about it either, take it up with AMC. Nevermind how I know all this ;)

  4. Well as everyone knows, I like Beth well enough but I do not want this season to turn into "The Search for Sophia Pt2: Where the eff is Beth"

  5. mandolin, what Negan did was the most horrible thing Kirkman could have had a character do. I DID quit reading for several months I was just gutted by that! The thing is, Negan was the most nuanced bad guy Kirkman has made and I think by that point, he (Kirkman) was so deep into the tv show, working with really good writers and creative people, he had learned how to make such compelling characters. I think the comic has gotten better since the tv show so good for Kirkman! Oh and good for us readers too lol.

  6. For real, let's get to the greatest TWD villain ever, Negan. I'm almost 100% certain Gimple was giving and honest answer when he said that guy wasn't Negan but it was also a fake out. There were at least two people that went into the freight car that Mary, Gareth, Alex and screaming young girl were in and I think Negan is who picked screaming young girl as well as slapped Gareth. I think the other guy was the face tattoo guy Glenn and Rick rescued at Terminus. If you look and more importantly LISTEN to the victim picking bad guy, he was carrying a bat and he sounds exactly like Kevin Durand who I think I read here has been tapped to play Negan next season. Perfect mutherfucking choice too!

  7. At first, I wondered if Bob was just going to the loo, but then I remembered that the church would have bathrooms. I figured that he'd been bitten, when he was crying.

The bathrooms wouldnt work anywhere and besides, if Preacher Scaredy Pants really kept himself in there for a year and a half, the toilets in there would be so rank! Anyone read Wool ? And this is probably kind of silly of me but for a second I thought Bob was out there crying because he really really really wanted a drink :(

  8. but I'm sure some blame will be thrown on Tyreese, if Carol is still around to witness all this going down.

Knowing Carol like we do I wouldnt be surprised if Carol, upon realizing Martin is still alive turns around and kills Tyreese for the good of the group. Or "good of the group" if you prefer.

  9. I can see that *maybe* Tyreese thought Martin was dead. Maybe he temporarily stopped breathing and was mistaken for dead so Tyreese was gonna let him turn.

Im sorry but it still doesnt cut it with me because either Tyreese stopped just short of killing Martin (my pet theory) or he thought Martin died and just walked away leaving him to turn for no reason whatsoever.Idiotic.

  10. coming from this PoV, would you lay any blame at Rick's feet if the walker he let turn instead of killing them "all the way" came back and bit someone in the group? I remember seeing the walker (with the long plastic apron) walking around and wondered if he'd come back to haunt them.

Here's the thing though. Any single zombie is either easily avoided or dispatched. Any single adult (especially one that has been activly hunting other human beings) is incredibly difficult to avoid or dispatch. So no, I don't have a problem with Rick allowing humans to turn for his tactical advantage.

  11. I'm with kj4ever here. Tyreese inexplicibly, idiotically left that guy alive. Ty KNEW Martin was still alive, KNEW Martin would not hesitate to kill Judith and everyone else if given a chance and yet TYREESE GAVE HIM THAT CHANCE. Tyreese is not the kind of person who is going to let someone turn for any reason, especially a non-tactical reason (which every time Rick lets anyone turn, it is tactical FIRST, vengence second). Tyreese was screaming "I WONT! I WONT! I WONT!" and he didn't and now Bob is paying the price and who knows how many others will as well.

  12. But Rick mainly did it for the tactical advantage, just like when he let one of Joe's crew turn, there was no tactical advantage in Tyreese's situation AND it has been shown over and over Tyreese does not think that way. He is not a warrior.

  13. Regarding whether Tyreese knows people turn regardless of how they die, if he does know

of course he does, he was at the prison during the whole illness thing

maybe he had the same mindset Rick did when Rick said "let him turn"

why in the world would he do that? Tyreese just took out a pack of zeds with his bare hands in order to protect Judith, why would he then decide, "hey, Im going to let this one random bad guy turn into a walker to show him who's boss! That'll learn him!"

  14. Well, Lizzie wasn't the most logical thinker. So her thinking that Tyrese and Carol needed to see Mika turn, doesn't mean that it made rational sense.

Yeah but my point was that a lot of posters here seem to be thinking Tyreese did not realize everyone turns regardless of method of death so he thought everything would be fine if he just killed Martin. Tyreese was very well aware that everyone turns no matter what so he flat out lied to Carol when he said he killed Martin. He's on my shit list now, not worthless but dangerous to have around. Sort of the opposite of the danger Lizzie represented.

  15. Doesn't cannibalism turn you mad?

Well I wouldnt know and as far as Im aware, there have been no long term studies on the effects of being a murderous cannibal on the human psyche but I'd read the dissertation on it if it was published ;) Nah, Im kidding, Id read the wikipedia article on the dissertaion. Or at least skim the wiki.

  16.  In TWD, there are squirrels and birds galore.  The sun shines while birds chirp happily.   They've grown crops.  There were baskets of nuts in the grove.

Having the termite be alive is  just character assassination, in my opinion.  I re-watched that scene.  Tyreese would have left that man's skull crushed.  It's stupid that he not only survived, but thrived.

I agree.  Tara has grown on me, and I do like her with Glenn and Maggie.  In fact, I wonder if Tara is gay simply to keep Glenn/Maggie fans from panicking.

If Carol wasn't planning on skipping out, she was definitely keeping that option open.  She seemed unhappy with Tyreese's desire to not tell the group about Mika/Lizzie.  Maybe Carol needs to talk about it.

I pulled these quotes from your post because they are great and I want to expand a  little. I find it incredibly far fetched to think that anyone LIVING in the za would think eating another human being is the way to go. You're surrounded by GHOULS that eat humans, why would you want to be like that and if you did want to be like that, go give one a big ol' hug? Seriously, the hunters are all healthy human being with weapons and extremely cunning brains, they can set traps, track and otherwise enjoy the bounty provided by those lush forests they find themselves in. It makes no sense unless every single hunter is a psychopath but even that doesnt cut it because very very few serial killers work in teams, the majority of them are loners and the hunters are clearly serial killers.

I too think Carol was trying to slip away without anyone noticing because I think she is becoming undone with her guilt and having Rick mend fences with her so tenderly was pretty much the last straw for her. As another poster said, I would very happily trade Beth (even 50 Beths singing in perfect farm girl harmony) for Carol. Carol is my very favorite character on this show, I even mostly agree with her decision to exterrminate Karvid, I just think her sloppy handling of it was pure, sloppy plot contrivance.

Not only was Martin still alive but that quick glimpse of him we got it didnt look like he even had a bruise on his stupid face! Remember after that beating Rick took he looked like hamburger meat so I dont see how Martin could have looked fine after that smack down Ty laid on him. Seriously though Tyreese knews better than to not expose the brain, even if he killed Martin, without brain exposure or at least a little brain puncturing (see Andrea's killing of various zombies with a one inch letter opener), dead people reanimate.

I thought it was funny both TWD and Z Nation killed zombies with mixers this week.

Finally, Im a firm believer that most surviving human in the apocolypse would decide they had been given a fresh start and could make up brand new rules for themselves so I dont see why Glenn / Maggie / Tara couldnt be a triad because as yet another poster pointed out, Tara and Maggie have chemestry......far as Im concerned, more chemestry than Maggie and Glenn have ever had (I find the character of lesbo boots [another TWOP reference] annoying beyond the telling of it though) but anyway, all the shmoopy lovey dovey crap is just boring and annoying.

Oh I guess that last point wasnt final after all because I gotta say I find it very hard to believe that hypervigilant Rick would sit there and get his drink on like that.

  17. Kudzu (sp?) is a pretty renewable resource, no? I'm surprised it isn't shown/used more in the series.

If that doesnt summon Doom, I dont know what will! I'm glad we're finally getting to The Hunters proper

but I can not wait to see Bob start cackling and yelling TAINTED MEAT! TAINTED MEAT!! Because you know he got bit in that water hole full of zombies!

  18. With all the talk of Daryl in the Beth thread, I thought I should chime in here in his thread. I don't understand why so many people think he's so hot, he looks gross, he has a permanant welt under his eye big enough to land a 747 on it, he hardly ever displays any emotions other than anger and that hair is just weird. Dont get me wrong, I think he is one hell of a tracker and a huge benefit to the group, he's just not at all attractive to me (I'm female but not hetero-oriented). Also, and I know some will find this controversial but I seriously believe he is gay.

  19. I read the monthly issues so I am completely caught up. So the thing that is happening now,

I see this as a logical extension of Lizzie's point of view and

I can't help but wonder, how in the world is Rick going to overcome this? All his previous interactions with bad guys have been people he could understnad because, as brutal as they might've been (especially that fucker Negan), they were still human beings with human reactions and emotions.

This thing, these are people manifesting Lizzie's idea that zombies are people too and they seem only to want to make EVERYONE a zombie, no greater goal than that. There's no way to reason with them, or appease them and even fighting them will be extremely difficult.

Very exciting arc beginning, Im am very intrigued. Spoiler tag for yall that are reading compediums and collections and are not caught up yet.
