The Rocco/Danny scene was good and showed me real potential in each of the actors, and I hope we get a lot more, either together or apart. It's the only way for them to fully develop. I also hope the writers don't neglect Dante's relationship with the boys in favor of Jason's. I think the most I've liked Jason in a long time has been when he asked Dante for advice on parenting Danny through the loss. It would be nice to get back to that. And it should be Dante who makes the arrest for Sam's murder. Poor Jeff Kober. One day he's supposed to make Cyrus look diabolical, the next like he's genuinely mentally ill. It's a good thing he's such a good character actor.

Plus they get to save on the lighting budget for all of the scenes at Charlie's.
-
The thing that stuck out to me was how many liquor bottles Ava had in her brand new apartment.
-
I agree with you on this. For me, Cyrus is one of the few intriguing characters on the canvas at the moment. He can be the big bad, but I would love for them to find a way not to get rid of him----unless, of course, JK is ready to move on.

I think everybody "knows" Sonny killed Jagger but Carly (faked a concurrent romantic liaison with Sonny), Michael (failed to mention he witnessed it) and Jason (got rid of the gun) helped Sonny cover it up for about five minutes, and then the show moved on. Alexis was arrested for the murder for two of those five minutes, and was suspected of covering for Kristina (who had taken another gun from Sonny's and was angry enough to do it, but didn't).

The fact that they didn't follow up on yesterday's big Gio revelation makes me think that they realize it wasn't a surprise. Now we have Sidwell-as-Natalia's-husband, also posited here on this board months ago. Either GH is totally predictable, or they have a mole on this board! At least the Sidwell/Natalia thing explains why he is in Port Charles, of all places in the world. I really like nuLucas. I find the character and the actor believable, and like that he's been brought into a couple of story lines. Whether or not he ends up with Brad again, I think it should be by choice, and not just because they are the only two gay guys on screen. I remain intrigued about what Cyrus intended to do with Lulu in South Carolina. One of the things that I think the show has gotten right has been the tightening of the rope around Cyrus, and I think JK has been playing it exquisitely. Cut off from his 'volunteer activities' at one site, and then another, and he's getting more tense and agitated by the moment, and is nearly ready to explode. Yes, it's all retconning, but Jeff Kober knows how to keep it interesting.

Just two minor questions after today's show: Apparently Sam's family knew she'd been given a fatal dose of digitalis, but are only now finding out that it was purposeful. Even with what they thought was a medication accident, why didn't they file a wrongful death lawsuit against GH? If Joss could look up parole information about Cyrus on the internet, why did Lucky have to ask Rick to get it for them?

I get why Alexis didn't want to wait for Jason's return to tell Danny, but I think Dante's presence would have been helpful. He's been more family to Danny than anyone but Sam and the other kids. Does Drew even know about Sam yet? I'd assumed the Brad-at-the-gym scenes we got the other day were to remind us that he and Lucas will be together in Florida soon. Now I'm wondering if Brad will be Cyrus' next victim. Will Joss, Dante, Lucky and Liz trip over each other's investigations? I love KW and Felicia. She so easily slides into and out of each scene, and is able to hold believable conversations with so many different characters, offering wisdom and just the right amount of skepticism. I see where Maxie gets it from. Speaking of Maxie, please keep her as far away from Drew as possible. I like how Sasha stands up for herself, wish she had done more of that with Gladys. Also liked the development of her relationship with Tracy, mostly because Tracy needs someone she doesn't have to be snarky with. I also actually like Cody and am sympathetic with his situation. I wish the writers would find him a worthy storyline.

It wasn't genuine, as Tristan's was, but it was at least supposed to be Australian. Much thicker when he first arrived, then gradually disappeared over the years.
-
I'm not familiar with the actor now playing Brennan, but wish he had taken on the assignment as though it was a biopic, where he assumed the man-of-the-world airs of his predecessor, with or without the Australian accent, and then very gradually infused himself into Brennan. (Remember when Mac had an Australian accent?) So, if Joss is the "person to contact" on all of Dex's paperwork---where is his body? Did he get a funeral? Does anyone want to try to find his family to let them know? Seems a better mission for Joss than going after Cyrus. Liz and Lucky are wonderful together, and I loved that he told her about what happened in the cell. They're not moving me as much as I thought they would, but I think that's a 'me' problem. Too much going on out there. Glad most of you are having a deeper experience. Jordan seems mildly animated with Isaiah and with the prospect of going after Sidwell. Willow and Drew have convinced themselves that they are the victimized, star-crossed lovers in this scenario, and it's gross. I wondered if the diners at the MetroCourt would increase their tips because their meal included a show. What a classic soap scene.

This is more intriguing than any of the current storylines.

I enjoyed the scenes between Dante and Lulu too. DZ and AH managed to convey love and tenderness without making any physical contact, while maintaining that degree of tension and awkward distance between them that is there because of the specifics of their situation. Just well done. I wonder if eventually finding out that Cyrus was behind both Lulu's coma (my assumption) and Sam's death will do anything to assuage her sense of guilt. That NLG can find more depths to plumb regarding the death of Alexis' daughter is impressive. I enjoyed her scenes today, especially with Sonny. She brings out a side of him that's fairly unique. He's a little intimidated of her, respects her, and yet is able to be completely empathetic with her. I'm a Lucky/Liz fan, and I hope his suppressed angst over Sidwell being in town leads them into some deeper conversations and interactions. They've been too superficial for my taste. I also wondered what pretext they used to cold call the family of a dead former patient--why would anyone talk to them? Kai's friend has more chemistry with Trina than Kai does. Maybe they could go for the old switcheroo.
-
Disappointed in this. It was the actor who had chemistry with everybody, not the character. Sigh. And I was hoping GH would take me away from this crazy real world for an hour each day. Hoping to be pleasantly surprised with the recast, but not counting on it.
-
I see that, yes. I also know that the entire situation is unique, and I understand Cody's reaction to it. It's not likely we'll agree, but how boring would it be to have a discussion board where everyone thinks alike?
-
I believe he went to them because they are her family, and even though he is technically also her family, the situation between them---especially as it looks to him that she's moved on into another relationship already---is not conducive to his confronting her directly. That makes sense to me.
-
I may be in the minority, but today's episode was the type I enjoy, where the conflicts arise naturally to the situation (even when the situation itself is unnatural), and the characters simply respond to them. It was natural for Lulu to be conflicted over her feelings for Dante and her unearned guilt over Sam's death. It was natural for Kai to suffer over the uncertainty of his future, and it was natural for Trina to want to help him look for an alternative to football. That put them into conflict, but it made sense on both ends. It was natural for Dante to want to investigate Sam's death, and natural for Anna to deny it to him. It was natural for there to be environmental issues holding up the waterfront project, and it was natural for Curtis and Jordan to have wrongly assumed otherwise. And, to me, it was natural for Cody to try to look out for Sasha. He thinks Jason is the father, and he hasn't been in PC long enough to have become enamored of the mob enforcer.
-
I actually applauded when Cody complained to Molly that his feet are always been held to the fire while there are career criminals in town who answer to no one. Truth bomb! And I thought it was good that he reached out to Maxie when he needed someone to talk to.

I was with Tracy right up until the mouse scene. And I believe that the entirety of that scene is right up there in the hierarchy of worst scenes ever written and filmed. Tracy and the mouse scream. Sasha and the pregnancy dump. Lois, Gio, Brooklyn and Chase with the single-mother look exchanges. Jason and the forming of Michael-and-Sasha synapses. Just awful. I enjoyed the light-hearted bits with Felicia and Anna, but this Emma is still not doing it for me. I’m having a hard time believing Alexis waited that long for her daughter’s autopsy results. GH surgeons cured Curtis of his paralysis. Maybe call one of them for Kai. I don’t like Valentin.

Have you seen Congress lately? I am a fan of Charles Mesure as well. His Brennan has chemistry with everyone, and he's managed to keep me guessing as to whether he is a good guy or a bad guy, or a little bit of both. It's too bad that he's with Carly, but nothing is forever on this show. He also has chemistry with Anna, and I'm sure he would with Alexis and Laura, should they get the chance to interact with him. Or, if they're really thinking of pairing Tracy with someone younger, I think he would be a better personality fit for her than Martin is. Yes to all who are upset about how Monica is being portrayed in absentia. Manipulating the history and personality of a legacy character ought to be considered a soap opera felony. Speaking of---so, yes, the conversation between Lulu and Laura was odd in many respects, but it was also emblematic of something that's happened a number of times in recent weeks and months---the use of exposition instead of dramatic storytelling. I feel like the writers have defaulted to this technique when they are made aware that fans have noticed omissions, or contradictions. They simply have a character notice the same thing, "explain" it in a sentence or two, and then move on. That's not terrible when it happens once in a long while, but it's at least a soap opera misdemeanor to use it as often as the GH writers do. We should have been getting scenes with Lulu trying to process new information, struggling to incorporate into her life the things she has missed, the long mother-daughter talks about reentering your life and the life of your child. How fascinating would that have been, since Lulu has now lived both sides of it? But instead we got a long, expository paragraph that ended with "yeah, that was hard....but Charlotte". Show us the stories, writers. Don't tell us.
-
Is it a tell tale sign when they stop buying clothes for your character?
-
I don't have the heart to try to go back and rewatch any of it, so I'm asking those with better memories----did Sasha not see Sidwell during her kidnapping? Did he not identify himself to Holly when he demanded his jewels back? Why is Anna acting like she can't arrest him just because she can't tie him to the explosion yet?
-
I've criticized the writers before for not being able to tell a compelling story. But I also realize that they are not able to recognize one when it's right in front of them. I'm thinking of Rocco here. A teenager trying to navigate, not just the travails of adolescence, but the return of the mother who has missed a quarter of his life, who doesn't know who his friends are, or whether he's ever had a crush, or what his hopes and dreams are. The same teen who lost his functional stepmother in the same process that returned his mother. Even if the show wasn't smart enough to incorporate some subtle coma-related personality changes to explore into Lulu, there's enough meat just in the reunification. Finn Carr has shown us that he's capable of the kinds of scenes that should be taking place, and I would a thousand times rather see them than slimy Drew. Some may think the Willow/Drew story is more soapy, but it's the (non-existent) Rocco (and Danny and Scout) story that is the kind that stays with me for years.
-
Thank you for this. Broken-hearted Joss didn't even get to play the central figure at his funeral. Guy essentially died in the line of duty; there should have been a police honor guard and a bagpiper, but I guess it would have busted the GH budget.
-
Jake will always be my favorite GH lawyer, and he is sorely missed.
-
I am completely befuddled by the Sidwell thing. Wasn't Brennan looking at him for blowing up the warehouse where Sasha had been stashed? Doesn't Jason blame him for it, too? Wouldn't Lucky and Anna also like to go after him for holding them prisoner? I mean, the guy isn't even using an alias. Maybe he's got all of PC under some kind of hypnotic spell.
