  1. I can't quite say they're growing on me, but I actually watched all of the Trina/Kai scenes today. I do think TA has done a great job all along at portraying a young woman in grief. Don't know what to think about Martin except that it's going to take all of JE's and MW's skills to sell me on a relationship with Tracy. Guess it's good they have the chops. I will expect to eat my words. Glad Brook Lynn told Chase, and I'm looking forward to the fallout among them, Dante, Lulu and, eventually, Gio. Hope we get to that particular revelation soon. I truly doubt that the writers have thought this polonium idea all the way through. Valentin. I'm one of the people who have never warmed to him, and that was even before he contributed to the ruination of Anna. He's got enough convoluted connections with so many other characters that I suppose it made sense to bring him back. Just hope he leaves Anna alone.
  2. I think that's why he was in the scene. I just thought it was odd that they'd make the poor guy come to work for a ten second reaction shot, when they could have pushed that particular reunion to the following day. Did they not know what kind of dialogue to write? I guess we'll find out next week.
  3. DId anyone else think it was odd that Dante was on screen for 10 seconds of the episode, and didn't even have a line?
  4. VH plays a very convincing drunk Lucas. Not sure what to make of the ominous turn to the music as he passed over his room key. I guess it's good that Charlotte is home, but I imagine the living arrangements may change now. I suppose they could continue with Rocco staying with his dad and Charlotte staying with her mother, but I don't know that it will last. Considering, I'm feeling robbed of all of the scenes we should have had of Rocco, Danny and Scout in the aftermath of Sam's death. They may soon be living in three different places.
  5. Thanks for explaining who he was. As a non-watcher of anything Bachelor or Bachelorette, I was left to wonder. The only thing worse than his acting was that "tan". I did like his background as an adventurous world traveler, and thought they might be able to make use of it when one or another actor heads out on vacation. Or even when they want someone to suffer an unfortunate accident off screen. Loved everything Liz and Lucky, even the interruptions. But Aiden still puts me off. He looks older than Lucky and his voice is deeper, and it's just altogether weird. Dante and Chase have some of the deepest conversations on the show. I love their friendship, and hope it survives whatever is to come. Drew/Willow/plotting Carly and Nina/Portia/Curtis....snooze.
  6. Thanks, @Mirabelle. From the glory days, when GH could afford extras--and some great Monica/Tracy! Nice nod to Tracy's withholding Edward's meds once upon a time, only to sneak him a dose of the remedy now. I'd forgotten all about this. If they had an outbreak these days, we'd see two docs, a nurse and maybe three patients, only one of whom would be given the single hospital room that remains. I miss the old days.
  7. AS continued her strong performance today in the confrontation with Lulu. While I'm glad Lulu backed down, her knowing but not telling Dante will threaten to come between them when they eventually reconcile. Which seems like it will happen, after the Maxie/Dante scenes today. I enjoy their friendship. Emma finally found a way to utilize her penchant for activism--go Emma! I have no recollection of her relationship with Edward nor with Tracy. Can anyone enlighten me? Seems like a very quick wrap to the Valentin story, and I'm wondering whether it was actor-driven or storyline-driven. I don't see any chemistry between Jordan and Isaiah, and that's all Jordan. The only chemistry I've ever seen on her part has been with Drew, and I doubt they'd go there at this point in the Drew/Willow story. Wish they'd recast, because the character has a role to play in PC, but the person playing her has never quite found Jordan's footing.
  8. I was impressed with Amanda Sutton today as well, and I'm usually not a big fan. Even Lulu was put off her diatribe for a second or two when Brook Lynn reacted to learning she'd given birth to a boy. The confrontation should never have taken place, though. Lulu seems to be advice-proof, begging the question of why she bothers asking for it. I don't know what to make of Sonny supposedly having been involved with Gio's childhood, and it may be because I wasn't really watching much in those days. If Sonny was involved, why? He would have had to travel from PC to Brooklyn to attend Gio's events, and I'm not sure why he would do that. Did he have a special relationship with Gio's adoptive parents? Did Lois just get him involved when she took Gio in, without telling Sonny that Gio was his grandson? Did Sonny even realize that Dante existed at that point? I thought he was surprised by that fact when he shot Dante. Do I have that wrong? I'm confused. Obviously.
  9. I think the reason for the James incident was the scene he had with Kai, to cement Kai’s involvement in Drew’s new pediatric sports program, which serves as a means to embroil Kai and Trina with the person who is blackmailing her mother. When he first came to PC, Isaiah said he wanted to leave transplant surgery, but he got roped into Lulu’s. Maybe he’s switched into emergency medicine. LOL at Willow saying how much she liked working in the ED, since James seemed to be their only patient. Wonder how she’d like working in The Pitt.
  10. I know it's unpopular here, but I think James is a cute little handful, and exactly the kid Maxie would have. If I'd been seeing him for his fracture, I would have stepped out of the room for a moment to laugh, and then gone in and been appropriately sympathetic with the parent. This kid is going places, if he makes it to adulthood. I guess it wasn't surprising that Lulu chose Carly to talk to. She knows Carly was given to adoption by her bio mom, and might be able to share that perspective on it. Tracy. She could certainly have developed a relationship with Gio without having a blowup with Sonny, but considering Sonny will eventually come to be recognized as Gio's grandfather, maybe it's part of some elaborate set up. Regardless, I like to see that relationship developing, and wish she was also working on one with each of the other kids in the house. They don't need to have her play the bad guy to make her interesting; JE has that covered. I forgot that Drew is Oscar's father. Obviously the change in actors doesn't help, but it's more the change in Drew's personality. Overall, I feel like something has happened with the show. They seem to know which stories they want to tell now, and they're moving them forward with a momentum that has been missing for a long time. I'm not a fan of all of these stories, but I appreciate the progress. I hope they will become adept at integrating depth into the characters and conversations as well.
  11. Interesting blowup between Rocco and Danny, and well done by the actors. I imagine we'll visit Danny's sentiment of "my family is always doing for yours" again. I guess Danny is too impetuous to realize that he has sent his last remaining parent on a dangerous quest to recover Rocco's sister, while sparing Rocco both of his own parents. Even though I'm willing to give the character up for a good cause, I do enjoy JK's Cody. He's appropriately bemused at times, solicitous and supportive when called for and seems to have chemistry of one sort or another with everyone. Seems like someone I wouldn't mind having as a friend---except when he's pursuing plot point activities like gambling to buy Serenity. Speaking of that plot point----did it just go *poof*? Not looking forward to the Anna/Jason redux.
  12. Lots going on today, felt like it moved a few stories forward. It's interesting to me that so many of the deeper conversations of recent weeks have taken place between Dante and Cody. Liking it. Love Maxie holding the line for Deception. She and Felicia have a talent for telling the truth. The Brad and Lucas scenes were poignant. I can see someone falling in love with Lucas, but I've never been able to warm to Brad, and don't get what Lucas sees in him. Emma's course load sounds a lot more like pre-med than pre-Deception to me. Tracy. I love Tracy, but they're doing something with her that I think even the masterful JE is struggling with. Maybe she's waiting for the writers to make up their minds about that whole storyline, I don't know. But one minute she's a shrew, and the next she's encouraging, all in the same scene. For me, it's a departure from where they (including JE) had been taking her, and I don't like it. Bring back the Tracy who fell in love with Gregory. Maybe Rocco or Danny or Scout need someone to talk to, since their parents are all so busy.
  13. Even Bobby's is dark now. Why? It's not like Gio and Dante needed mood lighting. Tracy is going to get emotional whiplash by changing her mind so suddenly, and so often. Still not enjoying her with Martin, and will be surprised if that changes. For me, even this slightly softened version of Jason has no chemistry with Sasha, and I fault both characters. Still hoping that Holly and Brennan somehow colluded on the DNA test, so we can find out that Sasha has no Scorpio blood after all, and she can ride off into the sunset, either alone or with Cody. I'm still undecided on him. Still waiting to see Rocco, Danny and Scout. Maybe Dante can leave Gio home next time.
  14. I agree, that bothers me too. Too many assumptions by these people who should have long since launched a major search for a serial killer until or unless he was proven dead.
  15. So we have Sasha, pregnant by a Quartermaine and wanting to avoid Q interference in her life, deciding to throw off suspicion by picking another Quartermaine to name as the father. Also complaining incessantly about the interest shown by said family, who also happen to be her employers for her live-in job. And who had the nerve to give her a baby gift. Right. Then we have Jenz Sidwell, roaming free despite having kidnapped/assaulted/attempted to kill multiple PC residents, including the police commissioner, the ex-wife of the DA and the son of the mayor, each of whom can identify him and testify against him. Right. And we have Lucky, twiddling his thumbs in his hospital bed, bored because he apparently has no access to his phone, reading materials or a TV. Maybe GH needs a fundraiser. Right. This show is so stupid.
  16. Brooklyn and Chase having a baby using Brooklyn's egg and Finn's sperm is the inverse of TJ and Molly having a baby using Kristina's egg and TJ's sperm. I suppose it was too much to hope for a more inventive storyline.
  17. I remain eternally hopeful, but I fear you are right.
  18. Am I remembering this wrong? I thought Scout's last name changed when Drew's did, which would mean she hasn't been a Quartermaine for all that long. Going from a nice short, alphabetically front of the line name like Cain to Quartermaine might have been a more traumatic change for her to handle than reverting back would be. When Joss was telling Trina that she would spend Valentine's night catching up on her studies, the book on the top of the pile was for nursing. Not anything pre-med, and not environmental studies. I remember wondering why. And I still wonder. I am very much over every aspect of the Brooklyn story, and the character. I groan to think that we might be expected to endure even a short dalliance with Dante, once the revelation takes place. Ugh. Poor Danny will probably feel guilty about having gone to confront Cyrus, since it brought Jason out to make a public threat. And then maybe Rocco will feel guilty about having told Danny in the first place. I just hope we get to see it play out on screen.
  19. Brooklyn was referencing that pregnancies are usually 40 weeks long.
  20. I don't know what the male version of a Mary Sue is called, but I felt like we were getting one with Chase today. It was wonderful that he was supportive and kind, but he kept spewing the kinds of insights that take time to develop, and I didn't buy it. Might just be me. Kudos to whomever on this board first called out Brennan's trying to recruit Joss and yes, Anna's apprehension about Brennan talking to Emma makes sense now. It's interesting that a new recruit would have to be secretive, while Anna, Robert and Valentin have been open about their WSB involvement for a long time. I get Drew's resentment about still feeling like he's on the outside looking in at the Quartermaines. It's probably been just under the surface for a long time, now unmasked by his pariahship and Jason seemingly being welcomed back in. I didn't understand how Jordan had her own private file on Cyrus. Seems like it should have belonged to PCPD. Looks like Anna and Dante have picked up that Austin's cabin had been cleaned up, and will deduce that a crime occurred there. Glad we got JJ's Lucky back. And no, this Aiden isn't doing it for me, either, through no fault of the actor. Didn't we have a one-day Aiden before this one? I thought he was a better fit.
  21. I wasn't watching then. Sounds like I should be glad.
  22. It was kind of maddening to listen to the three city leaders think they had to choose among the underhanded to accomplish the new project. And pretty strange that a city named Port Charles wouldn't have a municipal entity that owns and operates the waterfront. Did they sell Sonny his piers as a fund-raiser? I like that Lulu is finally acknowledging what she's lost in her life, and how it has affected her relationships. I don't think she owes anybody any special consideration, and they don't necessarily owe her any, either, although it would be an empathetic thing to do. But, really, it's just the circumstance, and she will be the one who has to work through it. Hopefully some of her friends (and maybe a former husband) will help her. I guess we're going full speed into the devolution of Drew into an unprincipled lothario. He wants what he wants, and he's going to push for it, and take advantage of his superior age and status, even though Willow is making it clear that she's either not ready or not so sure. Drew wants it to be a done deal before Michael makes it back. Can't help but wonder if Anna's lack of authority and action is wearing on Finola. I imagine one gets protective of one's character after so many years, and the writers are currently ruining Anna. Can't help but wonder if the rest of PC (and we) will be subjected to an ongoing murder mystery, even though Joss and Jack know it's over. Sigh. Finally---thank you Jeff Kober. You did everything you could with the dreck you were given.
  23. Liz did CPR on him on her living room floor (or more correctly, just inside the door) after Ryan stabbed him in Pentonville. ETA Now that I think about it, I don't remember if there was CPR, or if Franco was just bleeding out.
  24. I didn't usually appreciate exposition dumps like the one we got from Cyrus, but I suppose they had to do it. The writing has been all over the place regarding Cyrus' personality, so it had to be the character who explained it, and JK did it expertly. And BH was pretty masterful in keeping just the right amount of quiver and fear in Liz's voice. This will be the second time Liz has had to do CPR on the floor of her living room to a man she loves. To my memory, Franco was the first. Talk about PTSD. I don't understand why Dante showed up at Deception---had he dropped Lulu off, and gone back to get her? Poor Dex-who-never-got-a-funeral. Maybe he's languishing in the morgue as a John Doe. I'm assuming Brennan's phone call had something to do with Joss going to Cyrus' cabin. Will he save her from Cyrus, or save her from killing Cyrus, or clean up after the murder?
  25. This is more an observation than a complaint, because I know show management needs to do what it needs to do to keep the lights on. But a short term recast pops the bubble of suspended disbelief faster than anything else, and reminds me that none of this is real. Of course, I should already know that from how stupid it's been lately, but then our collective current reality has been giving it some good competition. Loved the ease and honesty of old married couple Felicia and Mac. Loved the ease and honesty of once-married couple Lulu and Dante. Would have loved the ease and honesty of once-married couple Liz and Lucky, but.... Do you think they might recreate the kiss for flashbacks, once JJ is back? Hate the absolute ruination of my girl Anna. She still has no one to go home to, apparently, even with Emma back in town, and she needs to have a life outside work. Also---do you think the writers will reconcile her concern about the image of special treatment for her friend Jason with her apparent lack of concern about the image of special treatment for her friend Sonny? Carly is always worried about the safety of her family, but leaves the back door unlocked. Right.
