  1. I agree with you they have not explored at all the financial strain Jackie is under with trying to take care of her mother. The thing I wonder is if Bev was so bad and needed care what was she doing with a credit card anyway? She wouldn't need one so why didn't Jackie or one of the other family members cancel it so that Bev or someone else would be unable to use it? This kind of writing is what annoys me about this show because it is so lazy in the way they put zero effort into explaining anything. They just expect the audience to accept whatever information they give them and not question it. As for Tyler and Becky, if they want to fool around why couldn't they make plans to go somewhere else to do it? It is so gross to think that Becky did it while her daughter was in the room with her or in the living room where her nephew could hear that. I agree it is ridiculous how they are always playing loose with the continuity whenever it is convenient for them.
  2. I agree 100%. The people running this show don't care about realistic storylines. All they care about is creating drama.
  3. To my knowledge, no one else became power of attorney after Darlene and Bev wasn't officially diagnosed but at the time it was clear Bev was in need of around the clock care and Jackie couldn't provide that for her so she got a caretaker to look after her. Now in this current episode, Bev is apparently showing improvement with her condition. Seriously, who is writing this show?🤦‍♀️
  4. Darlene is not Bev’s power of attorney anymore. Bev removed her after she allowed Jackie to reopen the Lunch Box.
  5. 100% agree with you! Mary Conner who has been in the Conners now for five seasons they could have more storylines with her but instead chose to bring back a character who let's face it the only reason any cared about Tyler is because he is played by Sean Astin. If he had been played by someone else he would have just one time love interest that no one would even remembered. Mary is a Conner, a member of the family but Bruce Helford and Dave Caplan couldn't careless about her character. Same with DJ and Geena, it would have been interesting to get to know them as adults and how it was they fell in love and got married but were viewed as being unimportant and barely got any screen time. Mary suffered the same fate, her screen time got greatly reduced over the years to a point she was barely seen. I don't know if it was Jaden Rey's decision not to come back as a recurring character or it was the show but regardless I wish her all her all the best in any future projects she does!
  6. In the revival, I always felt it would have been more realistic if Darlene and David were already divorced and co-parenting to raise their kids. That would have made so much more sense to me than him running out on his wife and kids.
  7. I agree 100%. Why does Becky need a man in her life to find strength as a character? Becky was already a strong character of how hardworking she was both in school and at work. She was responsible, took care of chores around the house, and looked after her siblings when her parents had to work or they went out. Becky also never allowed the men in her life to define or make her decisions for her. The choices she made, were just that, they were hers. Mark never manipulated her or selfishly convinced her to give her college money to anyone. She chose to do it. Like Mark said to Roseanne, "Becky doesn't do anything she doesn't want to." And it's true she didn't. The Conners version of Becky is nothing like her original counterpart. She lacks direction and is always looking for someone to blame for her failures. This version of Becky is also deeply insecure, always making snide comments about Darlene or the other family members.
  8. Yeah, Darlene during her Chicago/College years wasn't very good. I think the problem with Darlene in those years is the writers didn't know her character very well so instead of making her sarcastic and witty, they just made her nasty and mean to everyone instead. I agree 100% Darlene was terrible in the baby shower episode signing her and Becky up for things and not helping, and or taking credit for things she had no involvement in. I was glad to see Roseanne put them in their place and tell her and Becky both they needed to stop fighting and act their age.
  9. Boo! is one of my favorite episodes of Roseanne, I just always loved how the family had the house made up like a haunted attraction. My other favorites are Trick or Treat, and Halloween IV.
  10. I enjoyed Darlene's character in seasons 1-5 and even parts of Season 6. But I didn't like her character at all in Seasons 7-9 she was no longer sarcastic and was just mean to everyone.
  11. I don't know what their thinking process was but even if they never planned to have Johnny Galecki on the show there was no reason to write him as a deadbeat dad again. At the end of Season 2 when David broke up with Darlene for good, he told her that he would always be there for the kids. And they could have honored that, even if David was off-screen the whole time they could have still made it where he was involved with his kids. They could have had scenes where he called them on the phone and talked to them. In the episodes when Harris and Mark weren't seen they could have played it they were spending the weekend with him. Darlene could have mentioned she was receiving child support payments from him. And it is the same with this episode, they didn't have to have the characters bash him for the whole episode. They could have had it where he was going to go but couldn't because of work but he still sent Mark a check for him to use on books or whatever else he needed for college. And with it could have been a letter stating how proud he was of him and all that he has accomplished. The point is they didn't have to have David disappoint Mark. They could have had David be involved and have a relationship with his kids without ever having him make an appearance, but instead, they chose to make him a terrible father who doesn't care about his kids just so they could make Ben appear better.
  12. It is BS I agree 100%. Bruce Helford and Dave Caplan don't even try to hide that this episode was designed to bash David. They wanted to remind the audience of what a terrible father he is and make Ben the stand-up guy who has always been a father to Mark.
