  1. This was a powerful episode. I really liked it AND am extremely grateful it was wrapped up in one episode and not dragged on endlessly for the rest of the season like original NCIS used to do at times. Like when they screwed the character of Jenny over completely and made her look like she was totally unhinged in her endless revenge storyline. I could see most of the people this episode. Maybe they finally bought some decent lighting for the show.
  2. It's okay to do stuff like this on a TV show. TV shows aren't about how much something costs They are all about story. The kiln was used for humor and the restaurant was to show bonding finally happening.
  3. Yes the Racers have their own battery pack (you can see it sometimes at waist level in the small of their back) and a mic on them. Been that way since Episode 1 of Season 1. An Ode to the Forgotten Hero of TAR - The Soundman The soundman is totally essential but he is NOT recording the Racers. He has a boon mic and records the people they interact with and ambient sounds. He also is the one that carries the cell phone to phone ahead to the set-up and camera teams at the various detours, roadblocks etc to alert them a team is coming in and to get ready. Same thing for the pit stop. Phil and the Local Greeter don't stand around on the mat all day waiting. They wait for the alert form the soundman's phone that a team or teams are arriving very soon. (And no, the teams can never use that phone themselves). The phone is also to call in the trailing private security team if real trouble arises like in Season 3 in Morocco when the cop and fireman team got taken out of town by a cabbie to a sketchy village where the mayor was demanding their passports. Security intervened and problem solved. The soundman also carries the permission slips people Racers talk to on the street or in a cab need to sign that allows CBS to show their faces on TV. He helps explain the reason to the locals. A few times you will see someone's face pixelated. They didn't sign a slip and are close enough to get in the frame but don't want their image seen on TV. The soundman is also the eyes of the cameraman when the cameraman is walking backwards filming a team head on. The cameraman can't see behind where he is stepping or where a curb is or if he is about to bump into somebody after all. The soundman also usually carries extra batteries for the camera or did in the early days. Don't know how long the more modern batteries last on a leg. Huzzah to the Soundmen of TAR!
  4. Not only did she say Eva earned it by solving the puzzle but also she said in a confessional she had autistic family members. So emotionally she started feeling a lot closer to Eva. So there was an emotional bond created that transcended the mere game for her it seems. And I applaud it. It's nice when people like Joe and her see the bigger picture in life.
  5. The Utah couple and Team Green Shirts agreed to that and assumed Jonathan & Ana (can't even remember her name) would join in with that scenario because the three teams were pretty friendly with each other they were saying. So they never mentioned it to Jonathan & Ana, just assumed it and you know what they say about assuming. Still I'd be pissed too. You can't get all the teams eliminated on one leg and to screw around with lead teams you had good relationships with and that you knew would still arrive way before The Screamer and Her Victim Team was ludicrous. They gave Screamer 25 lbs too and since they were last to leave to start with it was obvious they would be out of the Race. Also I want to commend Rodney here for not only knowing the names of the team eliminated but also who was yelling at whom over whatever. I never bothered to tell them apart. I just knew one was an annoying screamer always yelling at the quiet one and I wanted them eliminated as a result.
  6. Mitch is the ONLY person on that tribe that gets anything done in the challenges. He is incredible. He had to get all three balls in that net thing himself. Nobody else came close. Heck, Cedrek managed to shoot his ball backwards. And about Cedrek. Why didn't he vote out Sai? He could have had a nice group of three other people to work with instead of a woman who plans to kick him to the curb as soon as she can. He doesn't read people at all if he doesn't know Sai is big time pissed at him already. And since he didn't tell her about this vote beforehand and he obviously told her most recent nemesis, Chrissy, she will now be big time double pissed at him. Good for Mary getting to celebrate a win. Bad on Sai for being a sore loser. Hey, Sai, you were the one who had to bail out once and then the second try you failed too. You cost your team the loss. And of course if Sai didn't go all diva and demand to "rest" at the super easy reward challenge; she could have sat out the immunity challenge instead. The one she screwed up.
  7. I call it AMAZING as in The AMAZING Race. The is too much artificial gimmicks and not enough appreciating the beauty of the world on TAR these days. That ATV ride was the highlight of the episode for me. So much beauty. So much joy from the Racers experiencing it. I don't know that the local was incompetent. Maybe it was the team not making themselves clear enough and/or misunderstanding what the local was trying to tell them. Also the teams that ran around the poesy made a turn when they should have gone straight. They all followed each other, not some local's directions it seems. It was the blind leading the blind. Meanwhile the mother/daughter read and followed the clue's instructions. And I honestly have no idea who was who. To me there was loud, screaming one and quiet one. Just glad they got eliminated because the screamer was really annoying.
  8. Finally the team with the endlessly screaming woman has been eliminated. Now we need the team with the endlessly intense and loud and annoying man gone, Yes, Jonathan, I mean you. And of course the worst use of that Express Pass gimmick ever on the show. The very first task and one where you gave yourselves an advantage doing it. Way to waste it. May the seeds of karma soon ripen into vines that trip you up.
  9. So is the ghost kid an attempt to start a crossover with "Ghosts?" Yet another spin-off? NCIS: Woodstone Manor?
  10. Me either. I'm talking in general terms as in ratings dipping. And at the rate they are going I will soon need some night vision goggles to watch this show.
  11. No, that seemed simply a list of her children. No indication they died. On the contrary we see a lot of relatives in the first scene in the kitchen it looked like. Good episode but can we start a Go Fund Me page to buy production some lighting? Again, whoever is the artsy fartsy person in production that thought it was some cool "noir" look to totally prevent TV viewers from seeing half the episode should be made to go around blindfolded until they learn their lesson. It is not art. It is not creative. It is not cool. It is merely annoying and totally pretentious and driving people away from watching.
  12. Or if he screwed up. Or if there was a sudden gust of wind in the last 2 seconds. I vote for him being incompetent.
  13. Actually Tony & Ziva had a very cool relationship from the get go. Zingers flying at each other was very flirty. The passion was there from the beginning. This other couple is a total bore.
  14. If that is the Utah couple you mean maybe that is how you age dealing with all those kids. Also I had no idea hair had "decades." Hair is hair to me. Wear it any way you want.
  15. But Thomas was the one that told Shauhin to go through the bag as it was his idea. I do agree that Thomas was far more entertaining. Well except for what I mentioned above when Shauhin almost had a stroke when Thomas was voted out. Shauhin did provide a lot of laughs at that moment at least.
  16. I think the most hilarious moment was the bearded guy's big over-reaction to Thomas being voted out. He looked like somebody just shot his puppy.
  17. So? Since they didn't need to use their extra vote advantage, just the idol, they have the votes if they lose next time.
  18. Kudos to Kamila starting the thing rolling by immediately putting on an act and Kyle picking up on where she was going right off to play his part. Emmy deserved performances by them both. But so many of these Hail Mary plans fail I thought this one would too but so glad it didn't. If Sai thinks she found a better alliance partner she will be sadly mistaken. This new one - have no idea her name - seems more than a bit sketchy to me. Meanwhile Cedric may have found a far nicer alliance partner.
  19. I thought it was funny since the brother that never seems to pays attention was so distracted by them right on cue.
  20. I have loved TAR from Episode 1 of Season 1 but I have had it these past few years where they ALWAYS give away the team that will be eliminated in the first 10 minutes with those bio interviews. Please stop the sloppy editing!!! And yes I like these two ladies as sweet people and wish them well in life but not so much as Racers. They managed to make almost every single mistake that can be made in three short legs. Except driving the wrong way. We are fortunate they were not allowed to self-drive themselves or they would have tried to drive across the Pacific. In other news Jonathan is back on my bad side again. The Utah couple continue to impress as I had picked them as one of the cannon fodder teams. Glad I was wrong. And does this set a record for most switching of detours in a single leg ever? The Ninja one was made too hard. It should have been each team member just has to get 3 of each type throwing as many of the items as needed. It still would have left the task super hard even with those looser rules I think since the dart thing looked like it tripped everybody up endlessly.
  21. He said that at a certain height the boundary didn't hold him implying it would not hold any of the ghosts back as in the boundary didn't reach that far up into the sky.
  22. Well the shamrock is for Hetty finding out she is part Irish I assumed. Hetty detested the Irish and didn't view them as her equals. Finding out she was part Irish changed her whole attitude and thus unlocked her power as a result of that growth is what I figured. She never had any problem being American or English so why would being those effect her one way or the other? They were no big deal.
  23. He also said he wanted 4 kids. He has just been doing things to gratify himself all his life so it is time for him to grow up or stop thinking he can marry someone and keep being selfish.
  24. Thanks for the French version trailer! Funny how the French, who are suppose to be about the most open with sex and nudity etc have their Julian (UK) / Trevor (US) character wearing rather modest underwear. 😄
  25. She doesn't have brain damage from smoking pot or dropping acid or half of America would have that too, lol. She was killed WHILE she was high so died in a spaced out state.
