  1. I actually enjoyed the Christmas Special overall. I liked that Edith didn't have constant humiliation and tragedy raining down upon her for a change. Her moments with Robert and Tom were very nice. And it was also nice to see her get a potential love interest. Of course we all know that none of this can last for long and this will all be ripped from her hands by about episode 2-3 of next season. Now Michelle Dockery is lovely and a good actress but the way men fall instantly in love with her is too much. She's very attractive but Helen of Troy she's not. And again could we just let go of the Mary sniping at Edith stuff? Mary, pull an Elsa and Let It Go! It is good to see that they make use of Moseley for more than sad-sack comic relief, I enjoy his character and his relationship with Baxter, whose also grown on me. Dame Maggie and Penelope Wilton are always lovely to watch. It was so touching and I thought rather understandable (and unfair) for Mrs. Crawley to end it due to the douchebag sons. She's knows they'd never give her a moments kindness or peace and who wants to love with that. And the Dowager Countess was quite a firecracker back in the day! Well why should the late Earl have all the fun?
  2. Carol moved right? I swear I saw her move her head.
  3. I wish Carol would sit up and cold cock Dawn.
  4. So we'll feel vaguely bad when she dies?
  5. Yes it's a brilliant idea to sit at the top of an open elevator shaft with walkers lurking at the bottom.
  6. They can't possibly be dumb enough to trust the cops right? RIGHT???
  7. I like Rosita as well. It's nice to see a Latina portrayed as smart and capable. It was good to see Maggie "back" as well. I can't believe Sascha fell for that, maybe because his name was Bob? Lots of loose ends for next weeks mid season finale.
  8. I really liked this episode and I wasnt' sure that I would; even with two of my favorite actors and characters featured. I think they showed us what was going on behind Carol's facade and how she still struggles, she no "Rambo" really. And how much Daryl has grown. Melissa McBride and Norman Reedus have amazing chemistry and their conversation seemed very organic. One of my favorite episodes.
  9. It helps to have the two of the strongest actors and most interesting characters in the episode as well.
  10. Loving this so far. Melissa McBride and Norman Reedus convey so much with so little effort. The battered family zombies was so heartbreaking. I love that Daryl wouldn't let Carol deal with it.

    S05.E05: Self Help

Yeah I already didn't love Mr. Moobs, but the whole "piece of ass" thing was just ugh. Especially from a middle aged man. If it weren't for the ZA he'd never be able to punch so far above his weight and get a hot young girl who looks like Rosita.

    S05.E05: Self Help

Even with the tragic backstory I just can't stand Abraham. He's just douchey and stupid to me. I did like that the actually gave Rosita lines and an apparent brain. Tara was great too, she's grown on me. Glenn and Maggie, both of whom I generally liked in the past were just sort of there. Not the best episode but not the worst. A solid "meh" for me.

    S05.E04: Slabtown

Joan was played be Keisha Castle-Hughes who was nominated for a best actress Oscar at like 11 or 12 for Whale Rider, which as amazing. I also don't think EK is strong enough to carry a whole episode and I wasn't bored exactly but it was an off episode to me.
  14. Yes that whole Beer Hall Putsch scenario designed to shoehorn that awful "Herr Hitler" into the storyline. I was eyerolling pretty hard at that too. And the writing for that scene was so clunky as well. But as soon as I heard Gregson was heading to Munich I knew where he was going with that. At least Edith didn't go all Unity Mitford. Yet.
  15. Do we have any clue if Gregson's wife actually existed, and if so if the divorce was finalized? Because I was wondering if all of his possesions would go to her, including the publishing company. And the fact that he left that to Edith should clue her dense family to the fact that they were indeed an important part of one another's lives. Mary was so wretched this episode. We get it, she hates her sister. But why exactly are we supposed to like her?
  16. I enjoyed it. I really like Jane and her mother, the characters we pretty real (especially for a novela) and they had great chemistry. Still not sure about the boyfriend. I didn't think the wife was awful until her betrayal was shown. The baby daddy is still a bit bland for me. But I found enough there to give more shows a try.
  17. Now Michonne and Rick (and the actors who play them) have an amazing chemistry, but watching last night I did wonder about Carol and Rick as well. Again I know Andrew Lincoln and Melissa McBride are good friends so I think part of their chemistry shows on screen. Or Carol could be dead by episode three, but I truly hope they keep her around.
  18. I just assume his hair is done by the same person who does all of the women's eyebrows and mows all of the lawns.
  19. IMO the best episode since the series premier. My girl Carol was awesome. I love her character flaws and all and I love Melissa McBride. And the reunion with Daryl was perfect. Damn, that was a great Terminus backstory. I guess being raped and brutilized for weeks (months?) can warp people even more than the zombie apocolypse. I didn't necessarily feel sorry for them after they victimized all of those innocent people, but at least it is explained a bit more. Aaand Morgan!
