He said, "Well done, you have been knocking on the door."

That's what my CC caught.  Dan can be a tad smug, but in this instance he was a good sport.

It's been killing me for weeks who Cristi looks like and it finally came to me.  Cristi is a more refined version of Stacey Slater of EE.

Hmm… Please use YouTube search: Berlin Sex (I’m a….)

It’s so different from that cringy ballad Take My Breath Away, which I hate as much as Lady in Red.

Take My Breath Away was definitely Berlin's sell-out song.  They had previous hits like the afore-mentioned "Sex (I'm a....)", "No More Words", and my personal favorite "The Metro".  Teri Nunn looked great!

I'm not talking about at home studying. My understanding is that they do a bit of a practice round before they start the actual game to get a feel for the buzzer and stuff. I just think for the celebrities who aren't all going to be Jeopardy nerds that a bit more coaching in that 10-15 minutes about a few specific things would be helpful.

I mentioned Facinelli doing zero prep to show his apathy about doing well.  If he didn't care about prepping, he's not going to care about extra coaching.

Sheryl had no business wagering as much as she did in the composer playlist category seeing as she didn't know any answers in the category up to that point.

No amount of coaching is going to fix hubris.

It started off promising but there were some really bad answers in there. And I think the celebrities need more coaching in how to wager and how to spot the secondary clues. The "cheesesteak" clue comes to mind.

Facinelli, who fucked up the "cheesesteak" clue, readily admitted he did zero prep for CJ.  He doesn't need coaching.  Some celebs are just there to get their charities some air time and the minimal $30K.

But she was willing to wait for that to-go box! "Can you do it for me?". Lmao lazy ass.

I don't know about this one.  Mary and I are probably the same age, and might remember days of yore when one was at a restaurant and asked for the remainder of the meal to be taken home.  The server would take the plate and come back with a bag with one's dinner all wrapped up nice.  That's what Mary might have been requesting.  Today one get's a styrofoam container, no aluminum foil, no wax paper.  Alas.

I don’t know how being friends with Mary is good for Whitney’s mental health. Why push it? Mary doesn’t like you Little girl.

    I really like Lisa’s husband.

I loved his barely contained parental pride at Jack's party.

Well, her brother could hear rumors or see by chance Oscar with his partner in the night life.

The best option is Mr Russell as he could hire a detective. But after finding facts he probably wouldn't tell them to Gladys but only say to Oscar: stay away from my daughter or else...

In addition to being closeted and sexually active, Oscar is also a huge drunk.  Sloppy behavior is par for the course.  For all the viewers know, rumors about him could be swirling all over Manhattan.

So much so that I'd have sworn LWT already did this exact story.

CBS Sunday Morning's Seth Doane did a great piece on this subject a few weeks ago.  So good in fact, LWTwJO excerpted some of it.

is that Liam is only tolerable in scenes with Wyatt. I’ll genuinely miss the scenes of the Spencer men, & I’d rather spork my eyes out than watch Liam scenes most days.

So true.  Liam is totally unwatchable save scenes with Wyatt.

That cute straight model, Micha, is on "Welcome to Plathville," now in its 4th season on TLC--a reality show about a mostly "fundamentalist" family with ten children (one deceased as a baby in a terrible at-home vehicle accident; the mother was the driver). The eldest daughter is not on the show and never mentioned (as far as I can mention).  She's a successful musician (religious). The children were homeschooled (not well in many areas, it turns out) by their controlling mother...and mostly socially isolated: no TV, no cell phones, computers, etc.  Look it up; it's sadly interesting.  Four of the siblings are now young adults with stories/problems.

    You lost me at 'fundamentalist'.

    YIKES!   No postings since JUNE???

Probably because it's the same old crap day after day:  reality stars, gross games like Guess the Crotch, Andy being Andy...

Coming here to mention that MICHA PLATH was on Andy's show last night as "the bartender."

I had no idea who this guy was, but Andy seemed to like him.  Shocker!!!

I thought it was weird Josh Gad and Andrew Rannells were on (they were the reason I watched), and they hardly mentioned their show Guttenberg.

I completely forgot about this story line (as I suspect Fellows does as well - I get the impression from his work that he doesn't give a shit about working class anything.)

Downstairs staff did feature prominently in both Downton Abbey, and now The Gilded Age.  Mrs Hughes, Carson, Mrs Pattmore and Daisy are some of my favorite DA characters.

Isn't it sad that the upper-class women had less freedom that middle-class women who could already be teachers, artists etc?

Less freedom, way more money.  Gladys has never had to wash a dress, sweep a floor, chop an onion or make a bed.  Poor thing.  Teachers and artists have freedom but will always live below the poverty line.  For all women, marriage was a ticket out of poverty.

What if Oscar persuades  Gladys to elope with him (or Gladys marries Oscar but elopes later with somebody else)?

A major component of Oscar's plan is getting Gladys's money.  If they elope there's a good chance the Russell's would not honor that union with a sizable dowry.

Unless simply an oversight, I expect the reason a topic for this episode (17) wasn't created - and no topic created for episode 16 - is because of the chance for highly charged political debate - all extremely difficult to skirt for this show in general, but for these episodes in particular.

I'm sure the reason why a thread wasn't created was extreme indifference.  Bill has driven away liberal watchers, except for the handful here (like myself) who continue to watch, read and post.
