  1. So Emily’s 50% is better than most people’s 100%. At least, according to….Emily. Damn, I’m glad she’s working on herself and her own self awareness.

Chloe's obsession with disabled animals has gotten annoying and I'm a dog lover myself.

I have 5 rescue cats in my house, 3 of them on the couch with me right now, and I want her to shut the hell up.

Yep all 4 judges picks are gone.  Happens every year.

Thought so. It never fails to amuse me. I liked Roman well enough, but Im not too upset. I find it hilarious that every year they say, “vote vote vote!” Then, we vote, and they tell us “you voted wrong. We’re gonna fix this.” And then we vote the same way again.

No kidding. Getting the boot tonight: Roman and Jayna, even though I like both.

Maybe the show runners could consider themes like 'happy songs' or 'uptempo songs', because this sure as hell wasn't 'rock night' (except for Triston and KB).

Or they could simply ban some songs. Emmy: 'I Can't Make You Love Me' is basically done every year on AI or Voice or both. And that outfit had me seeing Carrie's satin prom dress drenched in blood, and it gave a skinny girl a pooch.

Julia : Must we get the victim voiceover ( 'didn't see anybody who looked like me growing up') every week, though?

I can't find any info about tonight's show, other than the start time. Is it an hour? Will it just be the eliminations or will there be performances?

According to the guide on my TV, it's a 2-hour show and we're eliminating two more after they perform Billboard #1s.

Couldn't agree more on Julia. When she said it last night, my wife's first words were, "She's banging that pity drum pretty hard."

I didn't mind Emmy's look, and I've acknowledged that I'm still rooting for her at least in part because I like Loretta so much, but her vocals aren't as strong as many of the others. Yes, I still gave her 10 votes on the app, and no, I'm not sorry.

I do agree that I'm absolutely sick of hearing versions of "I Can't Make You Love Me" on these shows.

  4. I can't stinking wait for this to drop. Bon Jovi music legitimately changed my life. I was 12 when "It's My Life" dropped, and it was my first exposure to Bon Jovi. I took the money I made mowing lawns and went to our local record store and bought Slippery When Wet, heard "Wanted Dead or Alive" and asked for a guitar for Christmas. Some of the most important relationships in my life, including my marriage, are the result of me getting into playing music.

  5. Glad we're just discussing both shows here. I'll just share my thoughts on the Top 14.

    Abi Carter-Think she's largely forgettable.
Emmy Russell-I'm a fan. Blame it on my love and admiration for Loretta Lynn if you want.
    Jack Blocker-I really like him.
Jayna Elise-I keep forgetting she's on the show.
Jordan Anthony-See my notes on Jayna.
Julia Gagnon-See my notes on Jordan.
Kaibrienne-Really like her vocals, but her song choices continue to confuse me.
Kayko-This might be the winner of the whole thing. Guy has obviously spent years honing his songwriting/vocals/performance skills. I'm a fan.
Mckenna Faith Brienholt-She's alright...that's about all I can say.
Mia Matthews-Big fan of this one. Clean, pure vocals and doesn't get sucked into the vocal gymnastics of some of the others.
Nya-She's good, but not quite as good as she thinks she is.
Roman Collins-Love the guy's vocals, and his "Man's World" rendition was really, REALLY good. Thinking he didn't get enough votes based on all the worship music that got done.
Triston Harper-See my notes on Julia, but amplify the feeling by 100.
Will Moseley-I'm a country music fan, so call me biased, but I love this guy. I hope he doesn't win, but hope he makes the top 2-3.

As I am a student of the Bible, I will share this elementary rule for when you think God is talking to you: He does not tell you to do things that go against what the Bible says.  Just because polygamy happens in the Bible (along with murder, rape, etc) does not mean God approves or it is part of how He wants us to behave.  The fact that Garrick's "pastor" does not get this shows that he is a charlatan.

I’ve read the Bible a lot, and came to the same conclusion. I don’t recall God telling people to marry multiple women, and it seems like every time somebody did it, it resulted in misery, chaos, murder, anger, and everything else that TLC is hoping for.

They drop so many hints about Danielle "doing what's expected" "can she handle ALL of what's expected?" No wonder the poor woman is shit scared. She clearly doesn't want to have sexy time with another woman and certainly doesn't want to marry one. But she's being badgered. It makes me so sad for her. She deserves a loving partner of her own choosing.

Yea, saw a thing on FB where apparently people have labeled Danielle as homophobic because she doesn't want to be intimate with a woman.

That's where we're at folks. If you're not willing to do something that makes you uncomfortable, we're gonna "phobic" you until you comply!

Sadly, I think she has no one to advocate for her, which is how she ended up in this "family" to begin with.  The other sad thing is that how helpful are any of the families?  First Dannielle's family is not at all, nor are most of the ones we see here - they're all so afraid of being "judgmental" that they won't intervene or speak truth.

This is a symptom of where we're at in 2024. If you disagree with anyone about anything, you're judgemental/hateful/bigoted/etc. Sometimes you need someone in your life to tell you that you're being a dumbass, but we've removed that from the equation.

Is this where he uses the translator app to tell her about his sperm going into her brain so they become one?

I figured Garrick would just have God tell her about the whole brain-sperm thing. I mean, God clearly spends most of his time talking to Garrick. Dude hears the voice of God more than the people in the Bible.

  9. Well that was as stupid as I expected. Garrick is a horn dog who has convinced his idiot wife/ex wife to green light him he-whoring around. Her elevator ain’t making it to the top, so she believes that god is talking to him in the garage. Turns out he’s just out there watching porn.

So the one guy with the bisexual wife is dying and is apparently helping her find her new girlfriend? I mean, if she wasn’t a horrible person, she’d bite the bullet, tell him she just wants him, and then move on after he’s gone. (Sorry for the vagueness: terrible with names).

  10. The shameful part is that it took them this long to fire her ass. If a male had ripped apart a female cast member's car and acted like Angela did on more than one occasion, they would've been history. TLC further perpetuates the idea that men cannot be victims in these situations.

  11. Probably just makes the most sense to start talking about the show on.....another platform. Perhaps one that starts with a primary color (that isn't blue or yellow) and ends with "dit," for me. This whole green light/red light system makes me feel like I'm being spoken to like a preschooler. Kinda had a feeling that was the direction this site was going after the third or fourth long-term shutdown to "improve."

  12. I'm way late. The most telling part of that episode to me was when April (I think?) sat down to fold clothes with Danielle and immediately talked about how scary it was that she took control of her own finances to get a place of her own. Once again, when you deal with these cult types, it all comes down to sex and money. Every. Single. Time.

  13. I agree with everything you said. Also glad Ziggy is out after his whole "I need you to stop practicing while I'm practicing even though you're in another room; you make me nervous." Dude...STFU.

KBlocks will be a short-timer. Her quirky movements and shit don't hide the fact that she's mediocre at best.

I don't think there's anything special about Blake Proehl. Sounds like every guy singing in a bar in Nashville on a Wednesday night.

I think Quintavious has the potential to last for a while.

Jennifer Jeffries is going to have to show that she's got more than some sad-girl, coffee shop vibes at some point. She may, I'm just not sure because I feel like that's all we've gotten so far.
