It's the 2 GLs that seem a little problematic, moving forward. If 2GLs are Kleine (5th year) and Karley, Marissa, and Sophy (all 4th years), it assumes the 4th years will be encouraged to stay for a 5th year next year in order to have some leadership continuity.

But if they decide to make some 3rd years as 2GLs in order to have that continuity, I feel it kind of disrespects the current 4th years. Some 3rd years I think COULD be good 2GLs are McKenna, Kayla and Taylor...maybe AK.

Seniority does play a role in appointing GLs and 2GLs but it isn’t a decisive factor. Jenn A is a great example of this. She became 2GL in her 2nd year. Victoria is another example, but the other way around: She fully expected a leadership position in her final year but suddenly retired when Kelli and Judy made it clear they couldn’t envision her in a leadership position.

why doesn't Suki ever ask about Truely or Savannah? Are all the kids off limits?

Quite a few OG3 kids + Dayton have quietly distanced themselves from the show, appearing only in a small supporting act (if at all)

I wouldn’t put it past Savanah and Truely to finally draw a line too, telling their parents what they do and do not want. I can totally see Truely saying something like “you’re not talking about me behind my back on tv!”

I do think Kody has finally realized that his first three wives will never again accept his version of reality and he can no longer take the majority of the money as has been doing. He and Robyn must be scared to death of what this means for their future.

Now there's a reason why I might want a continuation of SW. One of two actually (the other being this fun and engaging forum)

Paeden is such an enigma! Just from following these forums, I'm aware of some of his distasteful views and comments. But moving to NC and doing things like going 🍓 picking with Janelle makes me like him somewhat.

He always seemed way more close to Janelle than to Christine.

Their story never made sense because two weeks after the adoption allegedly occurred, the kids went to visit their biological father.  It was a big discussion at the time.

We can all agree that something is off in that particular storyline, though we'll probably never know what.

I suspect they only used the word adoption to convince Meri to divorce. They knew it would hit a sensitive nerve with Meri. Has anyone, including the wives, ever seen proof that the kids were in fact adopted? You can take a different last name (e.g. your step-dad's) without being formally adopted.

Yes, I know there was a scene in the court house, but it didn't seem real to me. Besides, I find it odd that judges show up in a reality show, particularly when it involves a case about minors. But that's my take.

I understand that, my confusion is on who actually came up with the idea as they have told different stories.  Either way, it's just sad that their bio dad gave up his parental rights.  Dayton was crushed when he found out.

Not sure what to make of that either. However, there’s usually two sides to each story and we only ever heard Robyn’s sobbin’ stories. Of course she didn’t do anything wrong, we all know she never does. It’s always somebody else’s fault.

Mr Jessop by contrast, has always kept a dignified silence never trying to thrash his ex or cash in on his ex wife’s actions. He’s probably no angel but I somehow doubt he is as bad as Robyn wants us to believe.

My guess is that  he either gave up his rights under threat of some legal action or because he was lured into  doing so, like how Meri was convinced to end her legal marriage. (Just speculating here)

  7. @General Days true, I didn’t watch. I find this entire bit too hard for personal reasons.
I read your post with interest; I had not realised that funeral service, interment and/or gravesite committal services are considered different things in the US and that you obviously do things (slightly) different from how we do it.

  8. Hey guys, sorry for my little rant in the ep.25 thread just yet. (My feelings about Garrison's funeral being filmed.)

I haven't watched the second part of this season and likely never will.  Not just because it makes me awfully sad for Garrison and the family who truly loved him, but also because it is too confronting for me. We have a teen child with severe mental health struggles. Fortunately we receive a lot of help and it is taken very seriously, but seeing these episodes about Garrison...it is just a constant reminder of what could happen.

I'll keep reading and posting whenever I feel I have a useful contribution to make to the whole SW-drama but I'll just skip these episodes I guess.

  9. After reading about this episode I have just one question: Is nothing off limits in reality shows anymore?

As beautiful and touching as this funeral may have been, it should have been private in accordance with Garrison's own feelings/struggles about this show. They could have paid tribute to him in a million other ways or filmed the funeral from a respectful distance. Jeez, who even came up with the idea of filming Kody digging a grave for a son he obviously didn't care much for?  I'm trying to remember which (if any?) funerals of very famous people were broadcast that detailed. I believe most keep parts of the service, like the actual interment private, as should be.  But that's my personal opinion.

We talked about how far the Browns would go to keep the money train going. Well, here's the answer.

On the last page, people were wondering why Janelle didn't just get a regular job (at least while they're getting the farm up and running).

In addition to what @General Days said:

Janelle hasn’t had a normal (office) job for 15 years, which is a long time in this digital era where things change at the speed of light. That will definitely put off potential employers.

I also suspect that a normal pay check is not that appealing after raking in bigger amounts through TLC and MLM.

This is unclear to me. If one wants to build on a piece of land and only has 1/3 ownership, will any lender issue a building loan?

Good point! But...this is Kody Brown. He is a master in getting loans when most of us cannot. So, I'm sure he'll be able to find a way around this if he wanted to.

  12. I still feel that Meri and Janelle drew the short ends of the sticks here. A full owner ship of only a small, likely unsellable lot doesn't sound like a fair compensation of what they probably contributed toward Kody and Robyn's mansion and the CP land.

True, they also co-own the 2 larger lots so on paper it may sound fair. However, with Kody and Robyn as co-owners any money is firmly tied up so long as they refuse to sell. And imagine the unlikely option that Kody and Robyn choose to build there... They could build and live on that land forever and Meri and Janelle wouldn't be able to do a thing about it.

Sounds like a pretty sh***y deal to me!

The names on the lots have been shuffled around. The two larger lots have all four names. One smaller lot has Robyn and Kody. The other smaller lot has Janelle and Meri

I’m struggling to see the point in doing this? I thought they all wanted to move on, and now the four of them together own two lots? What do Janelle and Meri have to gain from two small, likely unsellable lots?

I hoped Kody would buy them out. The fact that he didn’t, makes me suspect he has no money available to do so….

EDIT: I just took a peek at Maddie's blog.  She has a notice on the top of the page that says, "I plan my life out a day at a time so my posting schedule can be erratic."  Again, I get it, she has four children.  She also had a podcast that she abandoned.  She and Janelle keep trying things, see if they stick, then move on when they find out it's more work than they thought it would be - even once they've gained an audience.

    This!

But what really puzzles me, is their inability to learn anything from previous failures. When Maddie had "only" two, she already complained about the struggles of motherhood combined with college and/or work. And now she has 4 and yet another new business venture....

It is interesting that everyone else has left quickly. The likelihood that Kody will be able to mend relationships might get lower as they all move.

Flagstaff was Kody and Robyn's dream. No one wanted to be there in the first place. Their joint attempt to relocate and put down roots was doomed from day 1. The few years they were there, the family had to deal with Kody abandoning 3 of his 4 wives and most of his kids. Like the rest of the world they had to deal with Covid-19 and the subsequent lockdowns, Ysabel's major surgery and eventually Garrison's death. There's nothing but sorrow connected to that place for them.

Meri looks good & happy, and Michelle posted it, so probably no Meri filters.

I was convinced Meri used a lot of filters, but after this season I’m not so sure anymore. The younger and leaner looking Meri in her sm posts does look like the Meri we see on the show. Not saying she doesn’t use any filters, just not as much as I thought.

I do wonder why neither Janelle or Christine went back to college to get education/training for a different career. They obviously have the money- the farm in NC and the Moab rental to pay for adult education. Why chose a career that relies on visibility on social media? Love that some of the OG kids  Aspyn, Logan, Hunter have made that choice.

Both trained as real estate agents. It was on the show back in Vegas. Don’t think either ever took up a serious job in it, unless you count Janelle’s attempts at selling their houses as a real job?

It must be a full-time job just dusting all of the dolls & their intricate clothes and all the geodes, statues, teacups, Dickens Christmas characters, Legos, pitcher frames, etc.  Is that part of the nanny's job?  No wonder Robyn needed a bigger house, the last one was overflowing with junk!

I wonder who is doing all the dusting in that house. I can’t see Robyn doing it.

  19. I’d love to know where that Redditor got those receipts from and how they were positively liked to Robyn.
Not that I do not believe their outrageous spending habits btw. Just compare Robyn’s LV house to this one. The amount of stuff they’ve bought since that move is outrageous.

In my opinion, it also puts her credit card debts from her previous marriage in a different perspective. Remember her claim that she took on his debts in order to have a quick and uncomplicated divorce?

But just think of the fun all of us could have reading all three (four if Kody joins in) and then cross checking each story and discussing our conclusions.

A book club, with a weekly discussion of our findings while trying to unearth the truth. Sounds like fun! Where do I sign up?
