We have no idea what their finances are… housing prices are high a lot of places but somehow people still manage to buy them.

True, but a  Dr. of PT doesn't make very much at all.  Zip Recruiter, Glass Door has DPTs making around 80K a year.  And she doesn't work full time.  The median home cost is 900K.  Unless Miguel pulls in some major bucks, it seems unrealistic they could purchase the house they were shown.

Edit:  The house they looked at was sold for $1,3K.  No way they were  affording that unless one of them had  their parents give them a pot of gold.

  2. Of course Krysten's advice was "if she turns you down, you're going to have to keep fighting."  Because we know Krysten doesn't take no for an answer.  And the slightest crumb she does the Lloyd Christmas with Mitch "So you're telling me there's a chance."

And why have a producer driven date with someone in San Diego when you're moving to NYC?

And Mitch and Lindy just completely waste the realtor's time by seeing a house when they have no intention to buy yet?

It was cute to see Binh and the linebacker having a nice time together as friends while she beat him up.

Justin with the bad snatch reason for not getting it up and then Alexis response was hilarious.

  3. Stacia calling Mitch, "Bitch" was not cute, not funny, and why they let her get away with it, I don't know.

If Mitch was calling her a derogatory name that rhymed with hers, I'm sure no one would've treated that as being cute.

And somehow the person I liked the most became one of the people I liked the least. Krysten, fuck off with your "I'm a catch" and "I deserve better" when you were chasing that man after he said no.

I'm also not sure I buy that Lindy is gaga over Miguel.  I bet they split in about 6 months if they don't get a spinoff show.

What bothered me most about Binh, that never seemed to get highlighted, is not just that he talked to Justin about whether or not she was an actual RN.

It was his attitude towards her with reference to her lack of a close family.

He held this against her, and even went so far as to say that he was disappointed because he wanted his match to have a close family.

Morgan explained that she had to walk away from her father, but in that conversation, Binh showed no empathy or even curiosity.

Then, he later cries about his own father and how he felt he never lived up to his father's standards, how is father had expected him to have done better.

So he held against Morgan, what was wrong in his own life.

I don't blame the little linebacker one bit for being upset with him.

To me, this is another example of where the "experts" failed them.

There's nothing wrong with Binh wanting a woman who is close with her family.  I ask my daughter every time she dates someone whether they are close with their family.

Of course, breaking away from a toxic family could be a sign of immense strength.  But in my experience when I was young, every man I dated who was estranged from family had A LOT of issues.  More than the ones I dated with a close family.

Similarly, there's nothing wrong with someone not wanting a mama's boy either.

Gawd, Krysten has an ego the size of Manhattan. She sure thinks she's wonderful and even said herself that she was a great catch. 🙄 Their whole interview was all about how great she was and what a great wife she was and how Mitch was to blame for all the challenges in their marriage. I thought Mitch tried very hard to be gracious and generous to Krysten about why things didn't work out for them but she wouldn't give an inch or accept an ounce of responsibility for their mismatch. And it looks like next week they're going to dump on Mitch even more. I don't think we'll ever see him at any more reunions as he looked mortified at how all the blame was being directed at him.

Actually, I think it's the opposite -- she's incredibly insecure.  Every person I know who does all that is the women that leaves doors open ajar for the man that never comes back.

And of course even though he definitively said no, she said they were both so "confused."

I think she was being sarcastic. He had just commented that ‘even with the door closed, I would still like us to be friends, help each other out, and keep in touch, etc’.  So her snarky response was that she needed a dog sitter for her upcoming camping trip.

Normally I'd agree, but with the amount of times she wanted it known that she's open to him in the future makes me think she was being serious.

I don't really see anything wrong with her having him mind the dog while she went camping.

I think she finally got that he is not interested in any kind of romance, but they initially both said that they wanted to remain friends, so I think it is ok.

But then I am sometimes kind of naive.

The last thing I'd want to do is have an ex watch my animal.

I'm sure she had people she relied upon before to watch her dog.

I never got the impression Mitch was that into her dog in the first place.

This is all about being able to see him again under the pretext of watching her dog.

I just find Lindy's voice to be super annoying. It has such a whiny tone to it. But other than that, I think she acts reasonably. Miguel's personality during the getaway was scary and I would've said no just based on that alone.

She literally just went under his health insurance so I doubt she was ever going to choose divorce that quickly after.

Agree about the deserving more comment. It was like Alyssa of last season constantly saying she was a good person. People who are good people don't need to say it and justify it 100 x a day. They just know they are.

I like Krysten. I think she's sweet and would be a good friend. But leaving the door open didn't make sense. The man is 41? years old. It's not like he's a 25 year old that just needs time to mature. He matured as much as he's ever going to. He also spent 8 weeks with you which should have been the honeymoon stage but it wasn't . Just move on, close all doors and find someone you have more in common with and a better connection to.

I still find Lindy's voice to be horribly grating, but I think I started liking her personality more towards the end of the show.

I thought the others were unnecessarily attacking Mitch. He was right. He never said he was leaving the door ajar. (lol who speaks like that?) Krysten did. He said that they weren't right for each other as husband and wife and she kept saying the door is open for her. I thought he was actually being very kind in the way he spoke to and about her on decision day and I thought it was obvious that he had complete respect for her as a person and they were amiable but his romantic feelings for her just weren't there and that was the problem. I think Krysten would have said yes had Mitch said yes first and i'm surprised they didn't have her go first.

The thing that confuses me with this show is when one person says yes and one says no. Like, isn't this something you would discuss with each other off camera? Why would anyone not talk about what their decisions will be , that way no one is left hanging or embarrassed.

    I completely agree.

He was perfectly nice in the "no" decision.  She's nodding in agreement b/c she deserves someone who wants her.  But then after agreeing, the door's open to reconciliation.  He's pretty clear that the door is open to friendship.  What person walks out of the discussion with Dr. Pepper and Pastor Cal and thinks, "So you're telling me there's a chance?"

That wasn't enough for the lightbulb moment, so she feels the need to mention it again with the couples?  Unless that was producer driven, why mention the door being ajar again?  Then the mob starts making Mitch sounds like the jerk so he's got to shut it down.  How many times does he have to say I'm just not that into you?

And that's not even enough for her.  It took him getting angry in the kitchen before the lightbulb FINALLY came on.

Except...she decides he should watch the dog while she goes camping.  How did she do anything before Mitch?  Does she not have someone reliable to watch the dog?  Or is that just another attempt for her to keep the door open b/c she'll get to see Mitch at the drop off, then the pick up and he'll remember the "something's there" feeling that apparently only she had?

I think Krysten has devolved into the Kate Sisk (from Kate and Luke a few seasons back) in that, in the beginning, all sympathies were with Kate/Krysten, but as the show continued, it was painfully obvious that these women were desperate and had such low self-esteem, that they allowed a toxic relationship to continue. I really did support Kate and definitely Krysten in the beginning, but by the end of the show, I had no compassion for them - they were treated the way they allowed themselves to be. Same with Paige and that ass Chris.

ETA - if anyone is interested, there is a current update post-reunion in the spoiler thread.

I notice what Krysten does:  She hears things said that are blunt, then repackages and restates it to sound nicer.  All while head nodding.

I've learned that most women that talk constantly about "deserving more" are the ones begging for the man who gives them less.

Am I the only one that did a 180 on Lindy?  I couldn't stand her up until she interrupted Miguel's me-me-me poem recital.

Then I started kind of digging her; she can be fun and not in a put on way.  I enjoyed her on DD too.

I just hate that Krysten keeps giving Mitch more chances to be cruel to her.

Kysten gave him more chances to be cruel to her because she wouldn't let up with the "door ajar."

At some point when someone hears "So you're telling me there's a chance" after being told in a kind way,  they deserve the cruel-to-be-kind response.  It took several before the lightbulb went on.

I was in her corner most of this season, but she deserved to hear it in the cruelest way b/c she doesn't know when to backoff and take the hint.

  11. Krysten really doesn't know how to take a hint does she? I keep seeing Mitch getting throttled on reddit, but he told her in the nicest, most honest way she needs to have someone head over heels in love with her,  and he's not that guy.  Then she kept on and on with the door still ajar shit with the couples, he is brutally honest with her, but the lightbulb doesn't finally go on until the packing up scene?

Now I'm starting to wonder if her ex-fiance broke it off with her much earlier but she still thought there was some wiggle room and left the door open up until the wedding day.  He moved on and was actually dating, not cheating, and she kept the wedding venue and reception going in hopes he knew that door was still open for her!

For all of her "I deserve more" shit, she sure can't let go.  And why can't she get another dog watcher other than Mitch?  It's like she wants him to watch the dog so she'll see him again.

I'm glad you brought it up because I think that little refrigerator is adorable.  I'm guessing she has a big one on order.

    • Why does Stacia not have a regular sized fridge?
    • I would've thought a physical therapist would enjoy working out?
    • Miguel makes everything so unfun.
    • Lindy is annoying but at least she can have fun instead of the fun sucker she was paired with.
    • Nate is super perceptive.  I hope he uses that perceptiveness and is successful in business, life.
    • I really hope that the giving-away-of-the-dog was just a producer ploy to begin with and that Justin really wasn't going to give away that dog for that narcissist.

Hah, but as flighty and hard to take as Lindy might be at least she's upbeat and well intended, whereas her Miguel is just scary and soul crushing.  Hers are issues that the right person for her might find forgivable.  His are not.

I'm so with you on that.  She irritates me, but I can't find one thing redeeming about that egomaniac.

  14. And OMG I'm at the poem scene.  This is my favorite scene ever of Lindy!  That self-important jackass. I would've been having a hard time not laughing in his face.

Watching this scene stoned makes Lindy so redeeming.

  15. Doing the rewatch on a Friday night I am!  And stoned so here are my thoughts:

Goddamn Krysten was like This Krysten Goes to 11. I feel like she was embarrassed by her outburst and then is now trying to be lighthearted and fun.  And she looks loonier than being upset that Mitch thinks she's got too much makeup on.

Lindy, girl you annoy the shit at me, but RUN.  You need someone who is likes to be twee and goofy with a supposed temper that no one wants to see!  Miguel is a dud and not nearly as attractive as he thinks he is. Didn't that guy have the nerve to say something like this is why you haven't found a husband yet?  And then Lindy pointed out the irony (loved her for that) given I hated her groveling.

Mitch, damn it you make me like you.

Alexis, I kind of love her as a reality TV villain.

I love Nate calling out the bullshit.

Stacia showing her fun side is nice to see.

    I like Justin.

  16. While I did feel sorry in Lindy, who annoys me the most out of this cast, in this episode, I can't help but wonder if Miguel wants to love her bc she's cute and seems sweet but is also as annoyed by her as some of us are.  Maybe the photo was just an excuse to pretty much blow up on her?

I also think she's made too big of a deal over "oh you don't want to see an outburst" that it puts Miguel on edge.  I can't tell if she's proud of her outbursts, if she's scared that it will push people away so she's giving fair warning, or because she's just sooooo darling that having scary outbursts just makes her not like all the other girls!  Whatever the case, the way she seems to talk about it a lot is weird.

Miguel, however, is no prize.  I can't find one thing that I find endearing, cute about him.

Yes, I understand all that.  I was specifically referring to the many comments in this thread, and actually all season, about how he reacted when he first saw the mom.

I actually re-watched that scene as well.  The whole reason he brought up the "beautiful" thing in the first place, was in his stumbling/bumbling answer to the mom asking him what he thought of Krysten when he first saw her walking down the aisle.  OMG it was so cringe-worthy and there was definitely nothing glowing about how he was talking or looking at her.

So here is what he said, and really, he was stumbling/bumbling all through his entire answer: "It's -- it's like I --, I mean, first of all, you're very beautiful, you know, and she takes it from you, so when you actually walked down first, I was like -- I was like, "Is that my wife?" [he laughs] I didn't know. You know what I mean?"  There was not a shred of flirtation on his part or hitting on her.  (And since the castmates weren't there, they wouldn't have known what he said or how he said it...their joking to him would have been generic based on what he reported to them.)

But he actually was doing what was expected of him.  He had gone over to talk to the mother of the bride at the reception, by himself.

Or them watching the scene itself.

Or them talking to him off camera about Krysten's mom.

There's a reason that the there was so much talk about Mitch and Krysten's mom.  Because the vast majority of people watched and thought he seemed very attracted to Krysten's mom while not being attracted to Krysten.

  18. 13 minutes ago, LuvMyShows said:

Sorry to disappoint everyone, but while I was re-watching, I saw that scene, and the only expression on his face when he first saw the mom was kind of a neutral/confused look.  He then asked the officiant if that was his wife, and he started smiling/laughing about the mistake he had just made.  Then he faced the mom and had sort of a weird, slightly embarrassed grin and waved to her and introduced himself.

I'm confused how he thought a woman in a hot pink dress = bride.  I mean, seemingly the lack of a wedding dress would be the tipoff.

But the reason people are saying what they are about Mitch digging her mom is that he glowingly called her beautiful and seemed to be hitting on her (even his castmates joked that he was hitting on the mom).  We're contrasting his reactions about mom to his comments about the actual bride and then his reveal to Krysten how he's not attracted to her.

Good summary.  The experts would then add, "His softness will help bring out the softness in her, and her toughness will help toughen him up."  OR if they wanted to be truthful, "They will butt heads big-time and make for crazy drama!"

I took one for the team and went back to re-watch the early episodes and the only nursing-related things on screen were a chryon that said "Endoscopy Nurse" when she first was shown to us, and at the matchmaking decision time with DP and PC, it indicated she was a registered nurse.  There was nothing in her initial video, or in her initial meeting with the experts, that mentioned anything other than just being a nurse.

I also re-watched the crucial beach conversation that took place in the episode that aired on Wednesday Aug. 10.  Binh says the following in his talking head: "Last night she brought me aside, and she said, 'Don't tell anyone, but I have one course left on my BSN--my Bachelor. And to me that means Bachelor of Science in Nursing. So in my mind, I'm like, so wait, she's not a nurse yet.  So she told the experts something else than what she actually is."  Then Morgan says in her TH, "It blows my mind that I told him everything very openly, and I apologized profusely for not being more truthful about having that last class left."

So, given that she truly is a nurse and would have nothing to apologize for related to that, then the apology must have been for having misrepresented to someone about being done with her schooling.  We don't know whether it was on the application, or in un-aired conversation with the experts or with Binh.  But it seems very unlikely to have been in actual conversation, because that is waaay more of an overt lie, than it would have been to just put it on the application.

    Bingo.

Thanks for the rewatch b/c I thought for sure that it had already been discussed.

That she said, "Don't tell anyone" which is essentially "don't tell anyone that I lied [on the application, or to the producers]" and then makes the entire season all about him "lying to her face" is truly galling.

Please tell me Binh will get some balls and mention this in the reunion instead of continually accepting all blame when the reality is the stranger he married started off the season, the union, and possibly the friendships with a lie.
