  1. Agree 100%. I don't want to dislike Nathan but they've made it very difficult for me to see what's so great about him. His actions and attitude have been very off-putting and I don't understand why they've written him this way - you would think the writers would want to make the men equally appealing to make the triangle more suspenseful. And then the fact that Nathan hasn't even done much else than mope around makes me wonder even more why they've made it so uneven, because it's clear they want Elizabeth to end up with him when there's no real substance to their friendship. They have things in common (she likes Mounties, they're both parents), but they have no common interests the way she and Lucas do. It's just so strange how it's all played out.
  2. Exactly! In a normal world, Nathan's behavior would be a red flag and make him less attractive. Lucas had a "shady" past which turned out to be him trying to help a friend and then he goes out of his way to be super supportive of her and just went about it in a way that she didn't like (personally I would be thrilled if someone thought that highly of my work). Those are literally the only bad things about him. He's not perfect by any means but he's demonstrated time and again that he's a good guy - for example when he was hesitant subpoena Gowen because he didn't want to hurt anyone. And that was before Elizabeth even got involved in the situation. It just baffles me that she still seems to prefer Nathan when he treats her the way he has. Honestly if Jack were alive he would be furious that anyone spoke with Elizabeth that way. I think it's either #2 or #6. Or a combination - no one is shot but it makes Elizabeth realize life is short, she declares her love for Nathan, and then Lucas leaves. I'll be so sad if that's the case because if Fiona leaves as well that's 2 of the most interesting characters gone from the show and I'll be the sucker who will continue to watch to the end of the series despite that, haha. Haha! Maybe Lee's sister will have a child for him and Rosemary to adopt and that's why she comes to visit them.
  3. I keep hoping each new episode will give me a reason to root for Nathan since I know she wants to pick him in the end but it's so dang hard! She got mad Lucas for sending her chapters to his mom (yes wrong for him to do without asking and definitely awkward since it's his mother) but no matter how Nathan acts she just brushes it aside and still wants to go out with him. I just don't understand his appeal personality-wise (no offense to Kevin McGarry, who is great and is just acting with the material the writers give him). If she wants to go out with him, then fine, it's only fair to give them both a chance but he can't even ask her and it's so frustrating because he does come across as a teenager instead of a grown man like you said! Has anyone watched the sneak peek clip for the finale? It basically shows Nathan about to ask Elizabeth out, getting distracted, her giving him another chance to ask, and then him saying, "nevermind, maybe another time." It doesn't seem like he'll get around to asking her at all, then he'll probably be the one to get shot, the season will end on a cliffhanger, and then love triangle will STILL not be resolved.
  4. I'm definitely leaning towards scenario B, especially after the preview - it seems like Lucas will upset Elizabeth by sending her book to his mom without her permission, thus causing a rift because he finally did something wrong, and then Nathan and Elizabeth will have a talk where she tells him to essentially make a move like Lucas did, and then by the end of the episode Nathan will come ask her out. It's all so predictable! Just like Lee's fate - we know he'll end up being fine in the end! The only unexpected thing that ever happened on this show was Jack's death, and they're definitely not going to kill another main character off. I went into this episode knowing it would be more Nathan heavy, and even though I've been rooting for Lucas I went in with an open mind thinking Nathan would finally prove himself by saving Elizabeth and the students from the storm and getting into her good graces. Instead she saved Emily herself (go Elizabeth!) and then he argued with her about it because he was still hurt that she went out with Lucas. He's was so cold towards her this episode, I really don't see how she would ever like him after this especially when you compare him to a guy who gives her a personalized book by her favorite author and went to seek her out to be with her best friends in their time of need.
  5. I've given up on historical accuracy on this show - that way if anything is actually correct I'll be pleasantly surprised. Low expectations! 😂 I loved this episode, mainly because I'm team Lucas and have been hoping they'd finally go on a date, even if she didn't want to call it one! After he went out of his way to get tickets to something he knew she would love, how could you not root for him? Haha. He's made it very clear that he's interested in her and after the episode I think she's finally accepted the fact that both men want to pursue her. I agree with everyone about Nathan and the wood chopping - I think I like his character better in civilian clothes, definitely more attractive on him! (Jack however could pull off both looks and looked great either way!) Anyway while I felt a bit bad for him this episode I'm sure something will happen next week during the storm that will bring him and Elizabeth together. I really think he needs to make a move and ask her out if he even wants a chance - she's certainly not going to ask first!
  6. I agree! Tonight he literally said he sees her as a competition... Lucas clearly knows Nathan is into her too but he's just focused all his attention on Elizabeth rather than what Nathan is doing. I personally don't think that's an attractive quality for Nathan to have. Pretty sure Clara didn't have those nails before her wedding day, which means she got them done when they were getting ready but did women even get manicures during that time period? It would have looked better if she just left them normal!
  7. What do you all think about the fact that they actually showed Lucas giving Elizabeth the flowers at the end but cut it off before we could see her reaction to Nathan? Honestly I think she's better off with Lucas but I think the show is trying to make us think it's Lucas but really pair her with Nathan in the end.
  8. I thought the cases this week were really good - Keon's amnesia case was especially heartbreaking to me. Naz's backstory is so interesting and there seems to be so much more to explore, hopefully in season 2! Not enough Ashley this week - but I am glad to see her so supportive of Grace and the overall progression of their friendship throughout the season. How do you think Dr. Wallace is going to react to Grace's article? I could see one scenario where he might be afraid of being accused in a "me too" situation as well so he avoids her. He's a big fan of Dr. Hamilton so he may step back from pursuing Grace especially if they haven't gone on their date yet. On the other hand, he's seems very sweet and obviously cares for her so he may throw his full support behind her. I feel like this entire season has built up to them getting together in the end so I'm thinking this may be the case.
