It's all marketing, especially after I Am... Sasha Fierce. Without that album Beyoncé probably wouldn't be the renowned brand she is now. That and her looks and husband helped immensely. She can sing, but she's not exactly the next Whitney or Mariah.

It's just my dream panel. She can be fun and honest and actually knows how to sing. She has the talent like Christina without the diva behavior.

Carson really should just call them "world/American superstars" or in Gwen's and maybe even Christina's case former ones or has-beens. =p

I'm not fond of that panel at all right now. Gwen turned out to be good when it comes to appearance and stage presence (I think I barely watched that season only snips of it) while Pharrell's coaching left a lot to be desired. He shouldn't pick songs for his contestants, but he shouldn't give them complete reign. I actually think Gwen was and possibly still is the better coach. While Pharrell won with Sawyer this past season, it was pretty much a repeat of Season One with Adam Levine and Javier Colon. Sawyer, like Javier, was a clear front runner and was predicted to win the entire thing with his coach being along for the ride. Essentially they both coasted with their respective contestants and provided minimal input for improvement. Adam did advise Javier reel in the overuse of melisma and Pharrell tried to do away with Sawyer's security blanket (guitar). I liked Sawyer and wish him a successful career. My preferred panel: Adam, Blake, Kelly, Usher...

It started in Season 2. Every finalist got a car. That was when product placement got added to the show. Sprint and Kia were everywhere.

But he got to make out with Andrew Garfield as Gwen Stacy. That's how awesome he is. =p I just thought it would be easier to get someone like an adviser to become a full-fledged coach. If not Chris then I can see many other good candidates: Cher, Kelly Clarkson, Miranda Lambert, Billie Joe Armstrong, Alanis Morissette, Baby Face, Jill Scott, Sia, Reba McEntire etc. Also I can see Jake going the way of the Great Tater on X Factor which is not good.

If Pharrel or Gwen doesn't work out, can we just have Usher fill in permanently pretty please TPTB. =( I'll admit a Christina, Adam, Blake, and Usher panel could be interesting.

Chris Martin perhaps? He could try something new now he's separated from Gwyneth Paltrow.

I thinks it's safe to say Adam needs a break from this show.

Well I didn't watch because of the Grimmie's presence but it sounds like another "technical glitch". I just learned in the final performances thread that an ex-Idol producer is running the show along since last season. I wonder if he has influenced the show for the worse?

She did get the pimp out spot of the season. The FIRST Blind Audition. And I bet she'll be the closer for the Finals.

I really like it. I'm not sure if I should still be angry that she lost to Javier in Season 1 now.

I just liked how different the arrangement was from the original will.i.am song and reminded me of what Judith was capable of like with What a Girl Wants. I had forgotten Sarah's One of Us. It was the only time I actually enjoyed her perform.

So long as they don't pull a Christina's journey sequence before her performance, I'll be okay.

The Grimmie. I want Josh to win, but I wouldn't be surprised if she gets it. She gives me the Cassadee Pope vibes.

Sometimes I wish that there was a singing competition where the judges give scores on the singer's performance. Then they would rank them accordingly. The top 3 would be safe from elimination while the rest will be voted safe by America. Then the final four approaches and the judges chooses their pick of the final two, and the audience votes for the remaining three for their pick. It ends up as a the audience vs the judges picks in the finals.

So I didn't hallucinate that article. =) I think a permanent format needs to be in place, it's apparent that the Blinds, BRs, Playoffs, and Live Shows will remain mainstays for the show's format. In my personal opinion, we should bring back the Knockout Rounds and re-label them as the Battle Rounds, have the Playoffs consist of 16 contestants where the coaches eliminate 1 person from their teams and then the Live Shows keep it a 2 person elimination, NOT THREE, and I know Twitter now counts as ratings, so I guess keep the Twitter Save, but only until the Semi-Finals which is a FINAL FOUR, and then the Finals which is the last TWO standing.

Kay I'm out. See ya next season Carson. Kristen I like you. You may have not been the most amazing voice I've ever heard on the show, but you just deserved better than this. Honestly I will only be happy if Adam leaves the show. Our prayers are with you Kristen on a great future and to you Jake and Josh to beat Team Adam. Also Christina you seem to be a nice girl, but your coach and this show don't paint you in a good light for me. So I guess congrats, Grimmie.
