  1. Just read that Fleiss left the series after Warner Bros. investigated him for misconduct.  Surprise!  Surprise!  A far cry from his cheery post about moving on.

Apparently, there were quite a few complaints about him to HR concerning bullying, retaliation and racial discrimination.

It's amazing how much I like Sean now, when I thought he was a goody-two-shoes loser at the time I watched his season.

I've felt the same about him.  He may not be preachy now, but I've still seen enough of him.

Did anyone else feel that Catherine didn't seem too thrilled to be there?  It seemed to me that she looked annoyed and checked out when Sean was answering Jesse's questions.

They are trying to manipulate people into watching a disappointing choice for a lead.

Exactly.  Wouldn't be surprising if they've already chosen the brother as the next bachelor.

It's getting to the point where this show is actually insulting.  Do they really think we're that enthralled with men taking showers?  Do they not see that we left silly stunts back in kindergarten?  Heck, they'll probably have the brother taking showers next season!

One last thought since the finale:  Zach is like a little kid who has to run his mouth whenever something is on his mind, with no regard for the impact of his words on his listener.  How long before Kaity gets real sick of that?

  4. The way Gabi handled Zach after his rejection was so satisfying!  She was so dignified in refusing to listen to his BS.  And she was positively stunning tonight in both her appearance and her Zach take down.  Go Gabi, you are amazing!  You deserve better than this loser.

Charity's preview, though . . . that foolishness with her brother was beyond stupid, even for this show.  I hate silly stunts like that.  Just one more reason not to watch.

Honest question:  what Gabi hate are you talking about?  Maybe I have missed something but almost all the comments here have been about Zach and how he screwed things up.  I don't think that people are blaming Gabi for the sleeping together.  They might be commenting on her freaking out because she wasn't scheduled first but basically the through line here is that Zach a) shouldn't have made an announcement that there would be no sex b) if he made it should have kept to it c) if he didn't keep to it he shouldn't have humiliated Gabi by then blabbing on national tv about it because he was afraid that Kaity would find out.  I believe that that's three strikes.

There are plenty of comments here and elsewhere implying that Gabi disrespected Zach's "no sex" rule.  That Gabi is some vixen who seduced HIM.  She's been a jokester right along and at some point, which could have been (and probably was) taken out of context she said, "We'll see about that," and it's being assumed she's talking about Zach's fantasy suite policy.

Some of the Bachelor YT sites also have some very nasty comments towards Gabi and I read that she is deleting many of her DMs because she is getting so much hate.  Zach betrays his own conviction, publicly humiliates Gabi and violates her trust, tells her multiple times that he loves her, keeps that fact from Kaity but tells her about the sex, then blames his behavior on "Catholic guilt."  What a gentleman.  But it's all Gabi's fault.

That's how we ended up with Juan Pablo!

This reminded me of Clare Crawley telling the camera how Juan Pablo whispered something very inappropriate in her ear during her one-on-one (No. 2?)  She still went ahead with pursuing him and it was pretty clear they had sex in the fantasy suite.  And she was still pissed as hell he didn't choose her.  Pretty desperate and gross.

So why is Gabi receiving so much hate?  I just don't get it.  There has been so much revolting behavior on this show regarding sex; it's been rife with it for 21 years!  Reading some of the comments criticizing Gabi, I don't know why her critics even watch this show.

And let's not forget what Zach said:  "It wasn't lust, it was love."  How anyone can pile the hate on Gabi and give Zach a pass after that is beyond me.  It seems that Kaity has quite the cheering squad and that's OK.  But there is no need to humiliate Gabi.  They're both lovely women and deserve better than Zach.

There's this trend on social media to paint Zach as a victim and Gabi as some sort of irresistible succubus who didn't respect his boundaries and forced him to have sex against his will.

Ugh. Why are people like this?

When we take a look at what women, even little girls, in this country are dealing with and viewed as, this is no surprise.  It's absolutely disgusting that Gabi is being portrayed this way.  I'd say why I think people are like this, but my comment would probably be deleted.

    Gabi, it's not you, it's them!❤️

I would definitely watch Ariel’s season. I wish they would let the bachelor nation to vote for the next bachelorette.

That's a brilliant idea!  If the results weren't manipulated like the contestants on these shows, the choice would be less controversial and it's pretty likely we'd at least end up with someone interesting to watch.  If they want the gig, of course.

It feels like the kind of thing where you're pissed in the moment that the day is ruined but later after things cool down you are thankful for the honesty. Still hard to hear, though.

I found that 180 that she did really ick.  It was good to see Kaity stand up for herself and act like most women would.  But the complete turn around a short time later and run to the fantasy suite was gross.

The shame blame towards Gabi is also unfair.  Haven't we evolved beyond blaming the woman for seducing the man?  Zach is a big boy.  Not a smart or mature one, but a big boy responsible for his own behavior.

Also, as someone who grew up with loads of Catholic guilt, some of us still have a functioning brain and common sense.

As someone who has seen every episode of the Bachelor/ette, I can say with the utmost authority, that there is no way in hell that Charity can be worse than some of the others that have come before her.  For e.g., Ali, DeAnna, Ashley, Andi, Kaitlyn, Hannah, Gabby, Rachel ....... I could go on, but I won't.  I know this is America, but everything doesn't have to be about race.

No one's said that Charity will be worse than some of the past bachelorettes.  The criticism of her choice is that there are much better ones.  It's TV, people want to watch a compelling personality and, sorry, but Charity is boring and her constant tears are hugely annoying.  It's so obvious (and confirmed by many producer leaks) that she was targeted as the next lead from the very beginning and that Zach was told to keep her around.  So who's making it about race?

  11. An article generated from the "Bachelor Happy Hour" with Becca Kufrin and Michelle Young claims that Brooklyn, Aly and Mercedes were all raving about how funny Charity is and that, being a therapist she'll be able to "connect with people and talk people through feelings."  Whaaaat???  They say Charity is an absolute "hoot" and they can't wait until we get to "see her for who she fully is."  Umm, we're at Week 8, she's had plenty of screen time, and we've not seen one inkling of any of this?  OK.  But Mercedes seems like a hoot!

Does anyone remember any instance where Charity listened to anyone else's concerns (and sob stories) and helped them through their "feelings"?  Did she ever even do that with Zach?  There were definitely women who comforted other women (even some of the villains), but I just can't recall Charity doing it.  I'm not saying it didn't happen, just that I can't remember.  I always picture her sitting stoically on a couch during sob fests unless she was the one in tears, yet again.

This franchise will never learn, although I did read an interesting comment on one of the YT bachelor channels.  A woman who said she was older and has watched for years believes that these shows have jumped the shark and have used attention from race controversies in order to stay relevant.  Interesting food for thought.

Are you planning on joining in her sob fest or are you going to donate your stock to her seeing as the show doesn’t provide them with this simple necessity and would rather they poke their eyes out with their pointy talons?

I prefer to surround myself with positive energy so when I first heard she’s the next lead, my first thought was the next season is a pass for me. She’s pretty and has a gorgeous family but that’s all I got. She has been dull af and there were so many beautiful and more interesting women this season and I doubt they all turned it down.

Couldn't agree more!!!  This is probably the end for me--same old, same old.  I'm going to float down that river of tears right over to Netflix.  Or at least I'll wait for the beach!

  13. The letdown from Ariel's hometown to Charity's was epic to me.  Charity is gorgeous, classy and no doubt intelligent, but she seems very immature with all the tears.  I just can't see her pulling off a gig as bachelorette.  Her season would be formulaic and predictable, which the producers probably love, but dull as heck to watch.  I suspect from the previews though, we're either in for her or Christina Mandrell.  Did anyone see Christina in the group of women for the tell all preview?  Which one was in the dressing room who's "life was about to change"?

Also, I have to agree with a previous comment about Kaity's dependence on her mother's opinion.  It was so strange and concerning to hear all her fears and worries one moment and then, after her mom's assurance, to hear that she's definitely falling in love.  Huge red flag!

There’s a spoiler in the Bachelorette thread if you’re interested in who’s the next lead.

I hope he at least keeps Ariel till hometowns coz I’d love to meet her Ukrainian family from her description.

The weeping wonders need to go!  I can't even figure out what Charity was constantly crying about in this episode; she seems very immature.  If this show has any chance of being renewed, they need to stop casting by looks alone and pick leads with compelling personalities.  That would leave Gabi, who is unique and fun, and Ariel, who is mysterious and alluring.  They also need to rethink "diversity" beyond black and white.  Ariel, as a Ukrainian Jew with emigrant parents, would definitely qualify.  Her poise and composure would be such a breath of fresh air after all these tears and sob stories.  It would be really interesting to see the group of guys that would be interested in such an intelligent woman.  I bet it would be a season like no other!

  16. Gabi's date was very enjoyable to watch; I think she and Zach have a lot of chemistry.  And I can't help but notice how lovely Gabi is when her hair is back from her face.  That heavy hairstyle does not do her any favors.  It hides her dimples and beautiful cheekbones.  I suspected she was a dark horse and her personality won me over tonight.

  17. Zach doesn't seem boring to me at all.  Perhaps being a normal good guy is now considered boring on this show.  I really wasn't planning to watch (for the first time since Trista), but so far this season reminds me of the early days of this franchise.  I did give up on Matt's season out of boredom and expected I might end up doing the same now, but no.

Did anyone notice "single dads" were specifically mentioned in the promotion for the next Bachelorette?  I thought that was weird and it made me wonder if they were already planning to give Christina, sans alcohol, the role.

  18. Jess reminds me of a young Jennifer Garner and I find her natural, radiant face so refreshing.  As for Brianna, I was part of America's vote to give her the rose.  Now I think she's real trouble.  She scares me.

  19. Well whaddya know.  Didn't think I could stomach another season of this show but figured, eh, let it record.  Watched it this afternoon and--there's hope!  They even kept Sean Lowe to a minimum (with his shirt on).  Have watched since Season 2 and truly thought I was done.  We'll see!

  20. Poor Johnny.  I think the last person he needed in his life was Victoria.  That girl is cold as ice!  I can't decide if it's just her appearance with all the Botox or if she's described somewhere in the DSM-II.

Though I enjoyed having an after show this season, they could have done it in an hour.  How much of our time can you waste with recaps?  We'd have to be pretty stupid if all of that drama was not painfully fresh in our minds.  And I totally agree with the comment that, instead, we should have heard from more of the contestants.  They didn't even do bloopers, unless that's what the last few minutes were supposed to be.

Please, leave out all the silly and time-wasting filler crap next BIP, the boring previous contestants, ditch the break week, and check for snakes ahead of time OK?

I’m not a fan of the bachelorettes coming onto talk about their experiences with the men. It doesn’t seem fair.

Agreed.  We all saw how wacked Rachel's idea of a good relationship is.  She's definitely not someone who should be advising anyone else.  I'm just so sick of her!  She's insufferable always, but I can imagine how obnoxious she'll be if she's still engaged at this point.  Don't know at the moment who is more intolerable, Rachel or Mara.

  22. This season had potential, but making the show so much about all these has-beens is nauseating.  Ashley and Jared were gross, we've already seen way too much of Rachel and her stupid hand gestures, and Mama Marinara?  Seriously???

The location and atmosphere is what pulls me in every year, so taking the women away to that hotel was a total bore.  And eliminating so many rose ceremonies for all this irrelevant crap just didn't work at all, IMHO.

Just keep the formula simple and give us what we want, producers!

I never thought I’d be on here defending anyone, but here I am.
I’ve always believed Erich to be Gabby’s #1. I honestly think in the FS she told him she would not sleep with the others. Erich later put her on the spot publicly and they both know it’s against “the rules” to assure him of that on TV. That’s frustrating for Gabby and typical of an insecure man.
I can’t imagine the immense pressure the lead is under. Lead men on. Make production happy. Provide drama. And be true to yourself and your #1. It’s an impossible task. I’d cry too!

i have nothing to say about Rachel. Mama taught me if I couldn’t say something nice, don’t say anything.

I agree about Gabby.  I think her issue with Erich was that she felt like he was trying to manipulate her and take away her freedom to make her own decisions.  They had already discussed this subject privately and he should have respected and trusted that.  Also, if Gabby only wanted to sleep with 3 men she could have kept her other 2 around.

It was hysterical how Rachel acted so surprised over the same fantasy suite 3 times.  It was icky to think the same bed had been used for all the FS dates.  At least each of the men had their own room this time instead of cohabiting!
