  1. Asking for a ruling now. For Monday's FJ I said Gulliver without a first name because I had no idea what his first name was. Does that count as correct? Mayim said Gulliver alone first and then gave the full name.

Funny that for me the asterisks were all instagets while I couldn’t even come up with a guess for the other two. Makes me feel smart and dumb at the same time. So I’ll bring candy: Smarties and Dum Dum suckers.

I have stayed at a B&B in SE Ohio, out in the middle of nowhere in hill country for work, and their restaurant is fantastic.  Unfortunately, it is currently open only to guests, but prior to 2020, it had been open --by reservation--to anyone who cared to venture to the location.  I've dined there both as an outside guest and as a guest of the B&B, and it was busy every time I was there.  I think they're only open for B&B guests right now because they can't staff up to the needs of running several rooms worth of tables.  They literally are in the middle of nowhere, two hours east of Cincinnati, and probably that and a little more from Columbus.

I think this is the place I've been wracking my brain trying to remember the name of. It's in Amish country, right? I live in Cincinnati and went there for dinner one Saturday with friends of mine. We had to make reservations about a month in advance. I thought of the place with this episode but can't remember the name. The restaurant was very popular. Sorry to hear the pandemic closed it to non-B&B guests. The B&B was also popular during the summer. Lots of Amish shops in the area.

Has anybody else watched the latest episode of The Ready Room?  We've been trying to it since Saturday, but it just won't download.  We can get anything else on Paramount+, so it's not them.

I've had the same problem. Glad to know it isn't just me.

I want to alert everyone to a great channel on YouTube that is doing fantastic breakdowns of each episode, Broadway By Ghostlight. Here's his breakdown of Episode 4 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wOyC0tzKv08. I highly recommend watching this, and the previous episodes as well. He even has interviews with the choreographer of the series breaking down every dance move and reference.

Thank you for posting this link. It is fantastic and lots of fun to watch. The interview with the choreographer was so informative. I have a new rabbit hole to spend time in!

  6. Maybe Tessie is sleeping with the mob boss. After all, it’s a time-honored tradition for a mobster to put his girlfriend into a show he’s backing. And Tessie’s husband did die from a sudden “heart attack.”

I also don’t think it’s strange if Susie didn’t know Hedy was Gordon’s wife. Does anyone know who is Jimmy Fallon’s wife? And sometimes couples who have different sexual orientations love each other and want to stay married (Leonard Bernstein and his wife come to mind) even if they seek sexual gratification elsewhere.

Not only that, but I did know the other two. On Monday I said Lucifer in that epic by Milton but could not come up with title and for Friday I said Praetorian Guard (thank you, The Mandalorian) but changed to “Centurion” at the last minute (Boo! Hiss!) Nonetheless, I feel good about myself, so champagne and truffles for everyone! My treat!

Topher's little mini-song before skulking off to his tent was some JCS reference, right?  Musically I specifically got a "Superstar" vibe off it in the rhythm and instrumentation.

    Definitely "Gethsemane" From JC Superstar.

But I didn't recognize the duet with Topher and Jenny in his tent. What musical was that referencing?

Funny, "A Little Priest" in Sweeney Todd always makes me laugh, when you substituted the orphans, it did make me cringe a little. But there is no way any orphan is going to end up in Dooley's meat case. Way too dark for this show to go to.

Sudden thought: Melissa and Josh want children. What if they take one (or more) of the orphans home with them?

  9. As a teenager in the Sixties, I loved Godspell. I’ve seen it performed at least 10 times and watched the movie more times than I can count. And the parable done here was so spot on right down to the corny side comments. It gave me all the feels!

I also loved the music from Hair. I never saw the stage play because of the, you know, nudity at the end of act one. But I knew all the songs. I loved how the gibberish lyric here a la Good Morning Starshine was the names of the characters from Grease: Rizzo, Cha-Cha, Doody, Zuko, and Kenicke. (Thank you, Playbill.).

Jane Krakowski is a national treasure.

  10. I just want to say I hate this storyline, I can’t stand Jack and the whole circumstances of his life, and I am disappointed in this whole series. But when Patrick Stewart sat in the command chair, tugged on his shirt, and said “Engage!”, I burst into tears.  Damn you, Show, for manipulating my emotions but Gawd, I loved it!

re the cameras in the locker room - let's just pretend they turn on via motion sensor or are on an after hours timer.  Cuz its just plain weird to have cameras in there.

But the cameras were not showing the locker room. They were showing the doorway into/out of the locker room and Ted's office, both places with legitimate security concerns.

I was also expecting something like a bomb in the PRT, but had to tell myself that was (probably) too out there for Greys.

Too out there for a show that has had exploding bodies in surgery, plane crashes with all the senior surgeons on board, electrocutions in the basement, and doctors killed by speeding cars, buses, and trucks, and stabbings? Really?!

If you want to do a crowd shot in a desert, it’s not difficult.  You’re still in LA- just throw some Star Wars stuff on a couple hundred extras, and bus them out to Vasquez Rocks.

I would think all you would have to do is post on any Star Wars site that you need several hundred extras and people in costume would show up for free. Didn't they do that with stormtrooper extras in the first season?

I like your speculations, @Good Queen Jane, but how about if Jamie is amazing (after Roy's coaching) and Jamie kicks the ball to Colin when Colin scores the winning (or tie) goal?

Oh, I definitely think Jamie is going to be involved in the final goal using his mad skilz from Roy's training. I also think Jamie will be Colin's biggest defender in the locker room if it is needed.

  15. Revision to my scenario for the last episode:

Colin is outed and is lambasted on social media and in the press. In the game for the championship against West Ham, Nate orders players to deliberately hurt Zava (or Nate refuses, Rupert fires him, and orders the takedown himself if you want to give Nate a redemption arc), Zava is out, Colin goes in for him, Richmond players set up a play where Colin scores the winning goal, team and fans embrace Colin as a hero. Bonus: In the celebration after the winning goal, Rebecca and Trent kiss each other, stop, look deeply into each other's eyes, and then kiss in earnest.
