This was my favourite episode of the year so far. I miss Jamal and Cookie's scenes together so this was great. Love Keem and his I like his love interest. Can't wait for Cookie to find out what Laz is up to. And the Boom boom song... LOVE IT. Terrence may not be a true rapper but whatever, he brings something to it that is convincing to a know nothing like me.

It actually feels like the pace has slowed from last season to me. It was at breakneck speed. I feel like the last 2 episodes were as good as anything last season. Also the ratings were not going to keep going up every week but it's not like they have fallen to new levels of lows. The show also gains a lot of ratings with people watching it in the following 7 days. The show is a hit. It's just not the shiny new penny. To me it already improved on some things from last season. It can work on some things but I'm still being entertained and look forward to it. Hakeem became a favourite toward the end of last season and I really enjoy him. I still like Jamal but no scenes with Cookie hurts him. And the brothers need more scenes together. It hurts the show for the characters to be isolated, e.g. Lucious the first 2 weeks. Cookie IMO won last week. I know she has been losing out to her ex but it's realistic. No way her upstart company can take on the Empire and win already. As for the celebs I don't even notice them because I don't know who they are for the most part. I do know Chris Rock and felt he wasn't that great in his role but nobody else stands out as bad. It will be interesting to see what happens in the baptism episode. Looking forward to tonight.

S02.E03: It's Called The Octopus

I love this show so much more than last year. I think it's because the kids have settled in.. And while I did like Rebecca when most didn't the story dragged. My favourite Annali moment was the fleeting look of relief when Nate said he needed more time. She is phenomenal. -
I guess I have bad taste because I loved that song from the girl group. Hell all the music sounded great last night.

Special Contestants: All Stars and Firefighters and Lunch Ladies, Oh My!
angelita100 replied to Bella's topic in Chopped
I watched the all star chopped and as much as I love Anne I was rooting against her the whole way. She should not be on this show...she is too much food network and it didn't seem fair that she has little special relationships with all of the judges. So sorry Madison had a bad day. I just love him. -
This show was the worst thing I've seen on tv in years. The only reason I looked at it in the first place was for Don Johnson and even he was a disappointment. The married couple and the son are totally unlikeable so don't know how a show can work with characters you don't give a fig about. But mostly I found it old fashion. It's like an 80's prime time soap without any stand out characters are plots. Someone mention Empire. At least that show has interesting music, clothes, locations, one liners and if all else fails COOKIE and LUCIOUS. They have more spark than that ember on the last scene.

I enjoyed the first episode. Not too deep but it's entertaining with likable characters.

Alex Vause: International Drug-Runner and Lover
angelita100 replied to mad_typist's topic in Orange Is The New Black
I think the actress is good in the role. She can make me feel for her despite the fact that she's at fault for the entire messed up relationship = well 90%. I'll give Piper 10% for some of her wishy washy behavior after they got together. Edited to add: Just finished season 2 and now consider them equal for their co-dependent relationship. What a bitch move Piper. Out of all the performances on this show though, I can't believe Prepon is the one winning awards. I'll have to look into that. -
Piper Chapman: WASP on the Edge
angelita100 replied to mad_typist's topic in Orange Is The New Black
Ahhh Piper. I do like her but it gets to be a little much. First season was fine but the whole furlough business drove me up a wall. That speech about loving her gramma..sure didn't seem like it when she actually got the furlough. I don't like any of her relationships up to the middle of season 2 where I am now. She and Alex are co-dependent so I point the finger at both of them. Larry I liked until the whole sex with Piper's best friend thing. But Piper really, your vagina so great that you think Larry is sitting around thinking about you all day. Geeze, she has her very unlikeable moments. That was one. Hopefully I get back on the train before the season ends. Finished season 2 last night and she remains hit or miss with me and not in a fascinating way. Oh well, let's see what season 3 brings. -
I don't mind people more liked for their dancing and personality getting to the top 8 but your singing better be stellar to get lower than that. Fortunately Hannah went home. Same with the country singer.

I forgot to vote for Koryn so am very happy she is safe tonight.
-
Sawyer was one of my favorites but now it's just the same damn thing week after week after week. No more votes for him until he surprises me. He's still the cutest thing ever though. At least, with the exception of Sawyer, it seems people are voting based on how well they sing. Whoever sang SHOUT sucked. Is that Hannah? I still listen to that song to this day. Just no. I threw ten votes Rob's way since he's in trouble. NOW, KORYN! Wow. That was fantastic. I was watching my Warriors and flipping back and forth but just had to stop and watch her and then rewind and watch her again. I've always looked at her as king of an underdog but man she really catapulted herself to the top this week. I have liked her from her audition but felt she was too bitch face for this show (reminded me in a way of Jennifer Hudson when she was on idol) but this week she seemed to be more relaxed and smiling and plus when they wanted her to sing in falsetto and she said "I can't do that" I just cracked up. Her voice is unique although I hear shades of Toni Braxton from time to time. I will definitely buy this song.

So happy Rob made it through. He is so good. Team Christina! Hotel California was great. Are group songs available to buy? I like the remaining Team Pharrel. I also like Megan and Joshua.
-
Happy Rob was saved. Thank you Christina. I find him most interesting out of everyone. He hasn't had a bad song yet. Christina has my favorite team. IMO Blake team is just as bad as Adam's. Joshua is better than everyone on his team. Maybe he should stick with what he knows. And then there's Sawyer. If he can show some variety he has a shot. Best season for me in awhile. Is USher ever coming back? Still my favorite judge.
