Thanks Movinon. :) Like your moniker, that's what I'll be doing. As DR said above, there is so much sick cruelty in the real world (I watch a fair amount of local and international news), no need to subject myself to it from a Soap Opera too. That's not entertainment to me. Maybe things will change, maybe not. Guess I'll see. I'll still comment on the board though, so happy post'n! Well, unfortunately I just don't think it makes a difference. For years Sharon wasn't involved with the Newmans (when she was married to Jack and Nick was with Phyllis) and the writers still put her down. The writing had Phyllis tormenting, mocking and ridiculing her every other month in that rag Restless Style. The Sharon dumping has been on going since the end of Shick, so I have no optimism right now that Chuck Pratt "loves Sharon". I feel he loves to beat her down just like the other HWs have. Yes, it's early in his tenure, but this trial could have gone so differently IF he really wanted it to. I dunno, just can't get behind the show right now and think I break is in order for me. I think someone upthread(?) posted this storyline isn't entertaining, but infuriating. since I'm pretty much only watching for Sharon, it's not good for my health, so I'll keep up with this board to see if it's ever safe again to watch. So y'all keep up the insightful discourse - I'll be counting on it! ;) Lol. That Kelly Sullivan even submitted her name for "Supporting" is a joke. Apparently, any actor can submit their names for the pre-nom list even if they have only been on 2 episodes. Ridiculous. At least Cady McClain has had significant story for most of last year, unlike Kelly. Wow, just smacks of ego on KS. Now in fairness, I don't know the woman, but I know she's pals with MS, which taints her right there for me. Sage is a grinning bore anwyay. Next! Yup, that's how I felt, mixed with stunned disbelief that they pulled the rug out from under Sharon (and us) again! SC and AAL's scenes made me cry a little. They were that good. Based on just that scene, they ARE the two best actresses on the show. Beautiful work. Don't really care. Don't trust Pratt already. If he could take AMC down, it can happen to Y&R. Worse yet, the Sharon Dumping will likely continue I fear, no matter what else he brings to the Y&R canvas. That's what 8 years of disappointment has led to: no trust in any HW. From LML through to present day, one let down after another for Sharon. That's just me though.

Wouldn't that be nice Artsda? But it won't happen because the writers enjoy tearing Sharon down too much. This farce of a custody battle should never have ended like this. They dangled scenes of Sharon ripping Nick a new one at Crimson Lights, Sharon and David, Sharon and Chelsea to get us vested in the real possibility that we may actually see a really good courtroom scene. But we got nothing but how "unstable" Sharon is and not one damn line of defense from David Sherman? Noah and Mariah were used to weaken Sharon's case by Avery, but no cross by David on Nick. Then they use Sharon's terrified outburst at the unbearable thought of losing her daughter as the final proof she's unstable? What mother would not be equally terrified of losing their child? The writing used every single thing against her and nothing Nick has done was brought up other than the lady with no pants. On that, how did Avery and Nick even know that Faith told Mariah the truth about Sage? Did I miss a scene? And what happened to Victor testifying? After the horrors Sharon has already suffered, including missing the first 6 months of Faith's life thanks to Adam, this is inhumane. Sharon does NOT deserve this. :( So Sharon and Mariah have a big fight, Mariah moves out and will stay with Kevin. So Sharon loses Mariah as well as Faith. Previews show she loses it and smashes all the family photos on her mantel at the cottage. She is utterly alone now. I just can't with this sadism anymore. And I don't believe Dylan is gonna be paired with her, or at least I hope not. I am sick to death of Sharon being used to prop other characters. I may need to take a break from this show. It's become unwatchable.

Well now I know I should always listen to my instincts. Twitter followers have said Nick gets sole custody. Sharon is upset with Mariah for what she said on the stand and tells her to "get away" from her. So Sharon is destroyed again. And there it is. I want to vomit.

Not shocking in the least to me re EB. Yep, he definitely submitted his name for the pre-nom list and I'm just wondering why? What the hell did he do last year worthy of anything other than derision? He's a joke. What chaps me more than that is Kelly Sullivan, after a few months submits HER name for Supporting? Presumptuous much? And Tracey Bregman for Lead? WHY? What have either of them done last year that would be sooo Emmy worthy? Even Michael's cancer storyline was played low key, IMO. I'll even give Cady more cred to submit because she really had some meaty (if not often cheesy) scenes last year playing Kelly. It's truly a cesspool on that set.

As I understand it, any actor can submit their name for the pre-nominations list and its added. Then those with the most votes from that list make the final nominations list for the Day Time Emmy. If you don't submit your name, you're not in Emmy contention. I think SC didn't put her name in for a reason. Which is really sad to me because she really carried one of the most exciting storylines of the show for all of 2014. I suspect she felt "why bother?" yet again.

Based on what I'm seeing Valley, I don't believe that for a second. Every single head writer has put a positive spin on how they see/write the Sharon character, and every one of them has allowed her to be shit on over and over and over again in the writing. This has been going on for 8 years! When I read the Y&R Emmy pre-noms today and SC was glaringly omitted but newbies like Kelly Sullivan (Sage) were nominated (I posted a link in the BTS Dramah thread), well, I don't believe anything good really will happen for Sharon. It's just this sick feeling I have in the pit of my stomach. :(

Daytime Emmy Pre-nominations are out and I am utterly stunned and sickened at the same time. Sharon Case was not nominated for Lead or Supporting actress, but Tracey Bregman (Lauren), Kelly Sullivan (Sage) and Cady McClain (Kelly) were?! What the holy hell is going on behind the scenes at Y&R?? That Sharon Case was shut out completely when she carried a major storyline all last year is incomprehensible to me! The show was a huge let down on all fronts. Wow. If Chuck Pratt is just picking up the whip used by the past two regimes to flog Sharon, I'll be beyond ticked. Is this all just a lead up for Sharon to lose custody of Faith? I felt sick watching Sharon have to beg Nick yet again to have mercy on her so she wouldn't lose everything. Mariah was used to bolster Nick's case, Dummer gets to spew what a danger Sharon is when off her meds, and Sherman was utterly useless. And no mention of Nick's general douchery. WTH is this shit? ETA: Its freezing right now, but I'm steaming mad here in T.O. ;)

I feel the same way Miamama. MM must have done something for the entire cast, except SC, to go radio silent when he was fired. He was on the show for, what, 4 years and he got nothing, no farewell send-off, but BM did? Come on, that just reeks of him being blacklisted for a reason. But as has been said, we'll probably never really know what happened, but I am glad he's gone. I never liked his character as he portrayed Adam (liked CE's just fine), and once I saw his "twats" (lol) and interviews, his ego was more than I could stand. He just didn't get it, IMO. As for SC, I don't see her retweeting comments from fans on the universal loathing for Shictor as any where near as disrespectful as JM saying a few years ago in interviews that he preferred working with MS over SC. To me, that was the epitome of unprofessional. Even if that's how he felt at the time, he should not have said it because it showed a complete lack of respect for his long-time cast-mate SC, and she didn't deserve that and you "don't do that to a colleague". Yet I didn't see SC going around calling JM "unprofessional". Even if she thought it, she had the class to keep it to herself. Again proving, to me, SC is the real professional on that set. I have lost all respect for EB. As for Sharon Case not being "able to move on", how would one know that? She's made several made-for TV movies over the years, so it's not like she hasn't been able to do other things acting-wise. I don't get that statement at all.

I hope it's not Scott either. He has potential if they can just move him away from this wretched triangle they're trying so hard to place in him with Betty Crocker and Private Plywood (LMOL - at all the nick names in their woody glory!). Is it wrong that I'm hoping they get rid of Kneel? Sorry, but this storyline with "Dime Piece" and Devyawn is just the worst. Maybe something happens to the plane Neil is on as he's travelling to get some experimental treatment. His demise would certainly shake things up for Hevon - a "forbidden couple". (eye roll)

After today's scene between Phyl and Kelly, I really like Kelly in spite of her hysterics at times. For years I've wanted someone to show Phyllis she isn't the badass "force of nature" the show's been peddling for years during MS stranglehold on the show. I love that Kelly isn't afraid of her and is ready to throw down. I wish it was Sharon that had been given that opportunity over the years, but since the writers removed Sharon's backbone, Kelly will have to suffice.

Well, looks like Kelly really is doing a good job so far of making Jack think Phyllis is the unstable one. Today's U.S. scene between the three of them in Jack's office shows Jack giving Old Red the side-eye once he learns how Phyllis lured Kelly there using his cell phone. Lol. I can't deny that I'm loving Phyllis getting the tables turned on her for a change, even if it is by Kelly. If given the chance, I think Kelly could be a great combatant for psycho Phyl and make for some good cat fights. Me thinks Phyllis may have finally met her match.

Well, I hope the unexpected ally turns out to be Noah. I froze in mid spot while watching today's Cdn show when the writers actually allowed Sharon to call Nick out on abandoning her and Noah to go impregnate Phyllis after Caasie died. Oh yes, Sharon finally got to call Nick out for the hypocrite he is and how he's not a perfect parent! I was in shock that Sharon finally got to say what so many fans have been saying for years! If that is Pratt's handiwork then I say "welcome aboard Chuck! Please give Sharon more dialogue like that!" But I am not getting my hopes up; probably just a set up to take Sharon down even harder during the custody battle which looks like it's gonna get ugly on both sides. Interestingly enough, Victurd told Nick he has been subpoenaed(?) by Sharon's lawyer to give a deposition for the custody case! I can't imagine why David Sherman would want Victurd's input as he must know how much Victor hates Sharon. Unless he has a plan to use Victurd's deposition to Sharon's benefit. Wouldn't that be sweet if somehow Victurd was the unwitting ally for Sharon. Nah, what am I thinking. Victor must always win; its in EB's contract. Should be interesting to see who it is. Maddie and Charlie get my votes too. They are by far the the two most annoying soap kids I have seen in years. Blech.
