MSNBC has had the ”A” team on deck for the past four days (AKA “T-u-e-s-d-a-y”).  I can’t believe I am having to watch Morning Joe deliver this news.  We will never hear the end of it. CNN is doing so much better.  Cheers, everyone!

I wondered if they got this a.m. because they were stuck on Peacock on election night.

Hulu only had the Jonathan Karl interview.

Is Sara stupid? No. Is she smart?  I don't know if I would call her smart.  She isn't willfully ignorant of facts but her intelligence IMO seems tilted to things other than politics.  She understands what she hears but I don't think she could ever explain something to someone.  Joy had her own show and discussed politics regularly.  Sunny is a lawyer. Ana is an actual political pundit.  Whoopi discusses politics through the lens of how things affect her.   But Sara is better suited for more light topics and that is OK.  I think she knows what her lane is and keeps in it.  Meghan on the other hand considers herself a political expert even though nobody else considers her that.  She is free to voice her opinions as we all are. It's her attitude of "I know this is true and if you don't believe me I don't care because I know I am right" that is so off putting.

According to Wikipedia Sara has a degree in Government from Smith College.😕

  3. I wonder if there was a prep session between MM and Bari before the show.  We got the AOC squad in on the first topic and then a poll on black men for Trump on the second topic.  Although I find the responses from Bari are Meghanesque the difference is the tone and facial expressions.

  4. I wonder who decides the topics for the show?  The Toobin discussion seemed more appropriate for TMZ or an SNL mock news segment.  There is so much going on currently that would be of more value/thought provoking than giving oxygen to  National Enquirer type gossip.  Just my View!

So every state has its own Facebook, Joe?   ok

I don't know how anyone watches this show for 3 hours and thinks "Yeah!! This is what I want to start my day!! Two misinformed millionaires screaming and whining!"

I admit I hold out for Steve Rattner's charts.  Steve waits patiently while Joe interrupts and harkens back to when he was in Congress.  The rest of the time is background noise if the set is even on past 7:30.

Someone told me they thought she looks like Amanda Knox..now that I’ve heard it, I kind of agree.  And I wish one of them had discussed the fact that she omitted of important info on her submission to the committee..essentially lied.  But I haven’t heard any of them address that.

I thought she had a certain look too and now that you put a face to it (A Knox) that is definitely the image I saw too.  I lose patience when they skim an important topic but with all the commercials and the background of the panel I know I am expecting too much.

I share everyone's frustration above and tbh my favorite segment today was Cori Bush.

It's always like blah blah blah polls, ranting, closeups of cat-hair on Joe's funeral sweater, blah, blah...and then Cori Bush comes on and it's like BAM! ENERGY! OPTIMISM!

Someone who's out there and making a difference, and her whole physical being is all MOVEMENT AND LIGHT and it fucking radiates through the screen.

I don't know if it's Covid-19 or whatever but that heady rush that these things MATTER and that people can make a difference (regardless of their opinions/political affiliations) is so so sorely missing on the tee-vee in this election season. I'm so damn grateful that it still at least exists at the grassroots level and that we still get glimpses of it, even on this show.

I woke up to the opening and swore I was back in 2016 and switched it off for a 1/2  hour.  When Cori Bush came on I shed my disillusion and left the show  on.  Joe and Mika remind me of Chuck Todd and "What about her emails" Andrea M playing the both sides argument poorly at each attempt.

There are lots of auto immune diseases that are thought to be caused by viruses.  I think this pandemic will cause us to see an uptick in auto immune diseases being diagnosed over the next few years.

It will be years before we know the full impact of covid 19.

The future insurance issue will be critical if there is a question have you ever been diagnosed with Covid-19   A pre existing condition could be assigned to the virus based on all the long hauler evidence.

I'm bummed about Halloween as an adult!

How is Alyssa Milano still so beautiful? I hope she gets back to herself soon, poor thing.

I thought the same thing about her still looking so beautiful and I appreciated her giving her experience of being a long hauler.  A family member of mine had a long hauler experience after an unnamed virus several years ago and at the time there wasn't a term to explain what was happening.  I would like the show to interview more long haulers so that the public can become more aware of the impact on the body and lifestyle of the victims of this disease.  I have read there is a support website somewhere for long haulers but getting their experiences out there is the kind of thing the View could spend time on rather than ranting about politics.

I will follow that old rule of if you don't have anything nice to say about someone keep your mouth shut.  Trump has covid?  It's a little chilly here today. Fall came quickly.

Ding, Ding, Ding you have a winner!  Would add, would you like fries with that?

I hate that Sarah goes off on a tangent about how taxes are confusing and wondering how many other rich people don't pay taxes.

Way to miss the point, sarah!

Great point.  As the saying goes "It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt".

Meghan brought up 'what if the judge was Muslim or Jewish" forgetting that when Rashida Talib and Ilhan Omar won their seats in congress, Republicans were angry that they were sworn in using a Qur'an instead of the Bible. They are also attacked constantly by the right due to their skin colour and religion.

She doesn't understand that it would be her side that would have attacked the nomination if they were Jewish or Muslim.

According to Wiki  there are Jewish judges on the bench, 2 in fact.  The majority are/had a Catholic identity and I don't remember that being a problem in their confirmations.  Since MM brought up the subject I am surprised that she didn't have the SC religious identities in her notes prior to making the accusation, just kidding that would be too much to expect from a shoot from the lip panelist.:)

If Meghan does not come back they will have to change the name of the show to "The Liberal View"

I would enjoy having Abby Huntsman return to the panel.  Ana Navarro is listed as a Republican who is not a Trump follower.  Whoopie has often talked as if she is a Libertarian when she talks about her money/taxes.  It is possible to have Republican or Libertarians on the show without being rude and sarcastic.  Abby and Nicole Wallace were excellent examples of sitting at the table with members with different views.

They would do that regardless.  Kim is not trying to uplift the Black community by offering a conservative perspective it is all about elevating herself.   Being a right wing Black conservative is much more lucrative than being a Black Democrat.  She is a unicorn who will do her team's bidding for a check..

I wonder how Whoopie would have handled this interview and think they should have had this interview during the week.  I agree she was touting the Trump conservative perspective, perhaps as an audition for the WH?  She looks and talks like she could give Trumps current Press Secretary a run for the podium job.

I don't think Elijah's job was her real objective especially when a well known former Congressman, Mfume, is running to return to the job.  Again, an audition perhaps and she probably passed with flying colors today.

  15. It must be tough for Meghan to live in a world that you don't know who to listen to and you have no instinct/gut feeling that tells you what to do during a global pandemic.   The fact that she had masks and her husband gave them away leads me to believe that it was his view on mask wearing that she was adopting.  If so, shame on him for not considering her pregnancy just to be safe!

  16. MM doesn't disappoint in being obtuse in the shows opening.  A town hall of Americans who want answers to their concerns before the election do not need to have included the WH vanity project of Middle East for a smash and grab Nobel Peace award (IMHO see Wiki for all previous attempts).

I tuned in today to see if anyone would bring up the PEW Research data on the US image plummeting internationally.  Several charts with %, just like MM likes to quote, although perhaps not these numbers.  Joy traveling yearly outside the US could have shared her experiences on the topic.

As for the senior ladies on the panel, they remind me of Shoebox's Maxine cartoons.  A little crabby and a little funny but necessary to balance the panel.

It is why I have never felt sorry for her whenever he attacked her dad. I just don't get her at all, I would think her devotion to her late father would preclude her from being a Trump apologist..

I was curious about the show today and just watched her rude and unattractive behavior (my opinion)  as a panel member questioning Cohen.  You don't have to like the man but if you want credibility as an interviewer then don't come guns blazing how you don't like liars as your opening salvo.   There are a lot of questions that could have been asked by her that could have been revelatory regarding his character and why he decided to become the person that ended up in prison.

This is not the show that Walters created and I miss the professionalism.

  18. I am feeling sorry for Stephanie Wolkoff.    My understanding from the first mention of the missing funds from the Inauguration a couple years back is that someone would take the fall.  This woman had experience with the Vogue Met Gala so she was not a rookie.  She was a woman though and was asking questions and now she is being grilled in three investigations as told to Maddow.   Stephanie should have left after the celebration like Keith Schiller did 😉

I had a visceral reaction to Megmouth when she started hammering Stephanie.  Her superiority complex just balloons whenever she meets a perceived enemy of her beliefs.  The full on face view just exacerbates her arrogance.   I hadn't watched in a while but was curious to watch Stephanie today.  Not feeling Sara I hope the cast gets better once MM goes on maternity leave.

  19. I am hoping MM takes a long maternity leave.  Maybe I am too old but I like a panel to be able to talk about their different views without it being ugly.  MM argues like a previous View conservative from many moons ago.   It is good to bring opposing views, but the shrill venomous approach kills the message and makes the messenger look 'too precious' to be at the table.

I do like Sunny's approach on the show even though I don't agree with her a large amount of the time.   Joy can over do it at times and I stopped watching for a long time when Whoopie talked about her bad hygiene too frequently.

I know that there are women out there that are engaging adults of all ages, who don't think alike, and we can enjoy watching.

  20. I have had a hard time listening to MM these days.   Her trust for Tucker Carlson over Dr. Fauci and using Tucker's high ratings as justification is exasperating to say the least.  Perhaps someone from Fox (looking at you Tucker) could deliver the second coming when she is ready to deliver.

    I miss Abby.

  21. I had to look up from my email when Joe started yelling.  He went after Sheryl Sandberg too.  It seemed very personal and he threw in himself as a topic on the platform.   Maybe his family stumbled onto something while visiting the site and he was venting the anger about it...it did seem over the top at the time.
