So the discussion on the Caribbean was interesting.  And they are right about the racism, slavery and other horrible things that occurred. One thing they seemed to have missed is that the Royal Family is not the political arm of the British government.  They don’t make those decisions.  Did they profit from the history..yes, as did the country.  For policies, blame the actual government?

and could Lindsay talk just a tinier bit slower?  I can’t even follow her.

There  are articles written about the removing of the British influence (using the Queen) to welcome the money from China.  I was pleased that Whoopie mentioned the American Indians in the reparation discussion.  The Hawaiians were another group that lost their rights.

  2. Interesting opening.  Whoopie saying "the day we have had today, insane and crazy" and then no Sunny or Alyssa.  Wonder if there was something up in the prep before the show or were they both in quarantine today?

The show seems to be going smoothly with just the three.

  3. Alyssa reminds me of a pageant contestant without the sash.  Since she has a connection with Florida, and previous WH experience, one would think she would be recruited by the GOP for the next presidential race.  Perhaps The View pays better than the US Government and the View gig could last longer than four years.

Regardless, I hope she doesn't get the chair.

  4. On this day of International Women's Day the D Beast has an interesting paragraph (at the end of an article about CNN) on the president of ABC News, Kim Godwin.  The article is making rapier cuts on all the things she is supposedly guilty of and leading the mismanagement examples is the "Whoopie Goldberg suspension debacle".

I wonder if Godwin will make it to the end of the season at this rate and could it change the focus of MM's chair choice???

Do I like that they talk about political things?  Sometimes if it's a good conversation.  Do I watch the View to have my opinion influenced? Absolutely not.  Hiring a conservative who is just going to spout what is being said on conservative outlets is not a good look for the View.

I hope this is the last  week she is the guest host.  I find her approach more Foxesque and won't be watching if she  ends up with the seat.  I don't understand the criteria for filling MM's seat.  Ana is the only one that gives me Eisenhower Republican vibes as opposed to the current burn it all down GOP.

The problem is that Sunny's level is SO FAR ABOVE any current or former panelist, that she knows she deserves twice as much as any of 'em.   She's absolutely THE BEST.  Her mom told her...and she believes it.  She asked her husband and their children; they didn't dare disagree.

One might imagine she finds it hard to be humble when she was identified as a child prodigy in  third grade and graduated from high school at the age of 16.  Social skills were not discussed during the interview I watched but I recognize her bluntness in other gifted people who traveled a similar path in education. ;)

  7. The term taking the mickey out of the liberals on the panel seems to be a tactic of the guest host.  She sure isn't trying to get a seat at the table behaving like MM.  I won't be watching if someone like this is the model TPTB are looking at for a replacement.

  8. I hope Alyssa is not the replacement.  Since they talked about her wedding again today I looked up her husband and found he is a graduate of Patrick Henry College {for Christ and for Liberty} in Virginia where Madison Cawthorn attended briefly.  This school was founded in 2000 and the Washington Post had an article at the time that the school was founded to educate young people to work in Washington government.  They claim they are God's Harvard.

There has to be a conservative that would fit in with the current mix of left minded and the middle of the road undecided.  I don't get that  comfort level with this weeks guest.

Camilla got married to Mr. Parker Bowles because she couldn't marry Charles, who she'd already slept with at ~18. Non-virgins weren't allowed to marry the future king back then. But they never stopped seeing each other.

In all my reading about the situation years ago, Mr. Parker Bowles was quite a catch and Camilla was the one that got him to the altar.  He apparently wasn't anymore faithful during marriage than most well known Lotharios.

  10. I see a Human Resource plan in how this was handled and I think it is good for all involved.

I watched the Colbert interview and didn't think she had changed her mind from the morning show.  One might imagine Tuesday morning when the powers to be called her in and said this is how we want to handle this and she agreed.  She got her chance to apologize on air and the guest was able to clarify the concerns and let's not forget the apology online.  Now she gets a paid two week vacation and the media lets her faux pas disappear.   Meanwhile a news items was put out that her cohorts are upset that this was the way it was handled which shows their support for Whoopie.

I don't anticipate her beliefs or moderator style will change when she returns.  Again JMHO.

Part of whoopis problem is that she comes across as a know-it-all. She treats everyone else as her student. She may be one of the older panelists and had an interesting life, but she’s far from being the wise elder dispensing sage advice. She speaks in absolutes and with an air of superiority so when she pushes an opinion as a fact like this latest Holocaust comment, it comes across as arrogant, if not, ignorant.

I agree, this is the character she plays in a lot of her movies.  It doesn't extend to her performance on The View.

  12. Sunny, bless Rep. James Clyburn for bringing on the guy that had the best chance of ending our national nightmare.  Politicians always campaign with promises and here was a guy that actually worked with most of the Congress.  I am tempted to write and recommend Sunny to the Administration for assistance on getting it done.  I agree it is a critical top priority and whining daily on The View is not helping.

Is she frequently this ignorant? (I stopped watching during the Meghan years, am dabbling now).

She has been for awhile now.  She seems to be incensed that the BBB was done before the voting rights legislation.   She reminds me of a milder M McCain with her negative views.

    “Cringing little liberal?”  Really?

I was so disheartened yesterday. Such a bad day for people with common sense.

Ok, Sunny, what exactly could Biden do with this situation?  I agree he’s lost leverage but what do you do when 52 senators absolutely refuse to listen?  I’ll wait.

The term performative is getting old Sunny.  Lawyers, congressmen, business people and talk panels all could be accused of performative speech.

Perhaps she could run and demonstrate to all candidates how to succeed in working with the other team?

I was fine with Sunny countering Ana's comparison of the Clintons. It's true they do know how to milk the base, too, as Ana said, although I don't think it's ever been quite to the same extent for it to be an equal comparison.

Although I think Sunny has a chip on her shoulder recently I was glad she objected to Melania being compared to Hillary.  Hillary is well educated and has a long resume serving the country and the only visible resume I have seen for dropout Melania is her porn pics.  I thought Ana showed ignorance in trying to use the what about between Trump and Clinton.

Not surprising Sara has been in contact with someone who tested positive since her husband has it.

Sunny goes after Ana, they cut to a break and Ana isn’t given a chance to respond.

I love Yvette.  I’m glad she’s so successful but I’d love to see her on the panel permanently.

Is it my imagination or did Yvette have a hard time getting to speak in the first half?  Hope tomorrow she gets more opportunity.

I love Sunny's look today from her head to her waist!  Joy looked a little more put together today after yesterday.  I imagine it was unsettling yesterday to realize they were back to remote.

Jim Gaffigan is great but remote doesn't do his comedic chops justice.  I am glad they had the clips.

  17. Ben has foot and mouth disease.  His Oscar speech in 2013 where he blurted out his marriage to Garner was work made the news for a while.  The wedding on the beach where she jumped up on him after the I do's always had me wondering how long it would last and I wasn't surprised when I found out Violet attended the wedding in utero,

I was never a fan of JLO but I think she can do better than this guy.

Deborah Roberts is great guest co-host!

I thoroughly enjoyed the show today.  I don't know if it was Joy as moderator or Deborah Roberts, perhaps both, but the synergy was sparkling for a a change.  Even Sunny's Christmas ugly outfit didn't dampen the mood.

  19. Tish James finishing the AG job is wonderful to hear.  I was puzzled why the run for governor was being circulated when there were such  important cases being pursued by her office.  Glad to hear her commit to getting the job done on air.

President Biden has been in office NINE months, Sunny.  The end.

    Thank you.

Sorry Biden hasn't cured Covid, cancer etc.  Meanwhile there is China, Russia, Ukraine all saber rattling too.  That is a lot of plates to be juggling and I am wondering if Sunny has such high standards for all the men in her life.
