Agreed! It's what draws me to this show. The winners are so sweet and grateful. They appreciate everything so much. There was an episode with a father and daughter I think in Ohio. They were only spending like a hundred thousand or something and all the dad wanted was to be in the neighborhood he grew up in. They were so funny and David is terrific. He treats everyone the same whether it's millions or thousands that they're spending. He seems very genuine. Some of the House Hunter couples I want to slap. They are so obnoxious and playing for the camera. "Well that has to be completely re-done." Perfectly fine bathroom that's better than anything I've ever had.
Also watching from Canada it's shocking the prices on both shows. Where I live 500 thousand wouldn't even get you in the door of a detached home. Like forget bedrooms or square feet, not even in the door.

As soon as the guy mentioned that he got his medical information from Facebook that was it for me. Die faster you're taking up a bed. I have not one F left to give for willfull ignorance. Realistically I don't think he could have been allowed to leave the hospital anyway as his medical condition was a danger to others evidenced by the accident he caused. Also, how this isn't suicide and a shrink signed off on it I'll never know. The line about 10 years from now he shows up with kids to thank the docs is bang on.
I get where they were trying to go with this episode but my pandemic induced empathy metre at this point is on empty.

But speaking of superbugs, I am so over the superbug scenario. After living it for almost two years nothing any writer anywhere can think of will top the real thing and the reality that it can't be solved in a few days.

I feel this show is being written a lot for Dule Hill. There were some good story arcs in the original involving the dad with respect to Wayne and Karen especially (Wayne wanting to enlist was one of my favourites) but the centre of the show was clearly Kevin. But speaking of Wayne, I am hoping this show brings Dean's older brother more directly into the show. I think adding that dynamic would help and be interesting with respect to Dean.

I'm adopted so it was ridiculous to me at first that Nina wouldn't/couldn't see Brian as her father as I have the opposite perspective of never having/knowing "biological" parents. But to suddenly find that out as adult would be a shock so I can empathize.
Looking forward to Season 2!

The episode had echoes of the Blind Side for me especially with the kid being named Michael. The movie Michael however was a protector, a kind hearted person, and an example of not letting your circumstances define you. I saw no redeeming qualities in this kid especially when he laughed at Dean's science fair fail.

I took it as the family acknowledging their good fortune in light of Michael. I didn't understand the comic book superhero framing either or the last line of dialogue thanks to CTV and their wonderful channel substitution.

I don't remember which time it was but I had to rewind and relisten 3 times to understand what Bill said. I've had to do this in other episodes as well with this character.
A large aspect of the original series was the friendship between Kevin and Paul and how their relationship evolves over the years. And also of course Winnie. I feel like I hardly know Dean's friends. Hope the show will move more in this direction soon although I understand the cultural perspective is important here.

I liked this episode a lot. I liked how it was nicely bookended with the oldest Reagan struggling to remain a relevant part of the family fold and the younger "Reagan" struggling to accept his place within it.
When Eddie confronts Henry over the robbery we are shown that he is doing a crossword puzzle, societiy's expections of what Grandpa should be doing. Eddie did the right thing. Henry's anger was palpable, understandable, and valid. There was a lot of life truth in that scene.
I liked the scene where Frank tightened Joe's chin strap so to speak and made him stand when Joe went to sit down. Joe realized in that moment be careful what you wish for and maybe it isn't what he wants. As he leaves we see as we always do, how difficult that was for Frank reflected in Baker's face. Nice scene framing here too.

I think it was a joke or sarcasm that just wasn't played well in the scene. It's totally Jamie's character to push Danny's buttons and be like not only am I going to babysit you which you will hate but I'm also going to make you sit through The Verdict.
With respect to the video and where's Joe, there only ever is one Sunday dinner scene per episode so I took it that the video night was a random get together. It doesn't take place after the dinner scene depicted anyway because they are wearing different clothes and Sean wasn't in the scene. They made a point of Joe wanting to come to the next dinner and symbolically join the family so I can't see them not showing that.

The kid who is now "less" than he was, is still smart enough to get his doctors to nearly kill him.
Pond scum, that algae like foul smelling sludge that floats on stagnant water is still better than people who engage in ransomware attacks on hospitals. It just happened up here.

Agreed with all the Fightclub mentions. One thing to have a gym set up even boxing to work out issues but ya not like that. Ridiculous indeed.
I actually thought Jamie would have left the force by now to pursue a legal career like Erin. They always walk the line with his character. He didn't know about the bar yet Danny, Pops etc did suggesting what, that Jamie isn't the true blue cop Danny is? And there's always this hint of underachieving with his character even though he's a Sergeant.
Baker is an enigma to me. Not at all the direction I thought they were going early on with her character although given the conservative perametres of the show not surprising either.
I did like the conclusion with Eddie's partner Rachel. I liked that they showed Rachel recognizing she was having difficulties that no smoothie or a weekend partying with Eddie was going to solve. Stepping away and going on leave isn't as dramatic as a suicide ending but depicted a positive alternative in dealing with the negative stress of being a police officer. The show should be commended for that I think. I liked too how Frank said to check back with him in a year to let him know how she's doing. That's a good boss.

Is this the last season because that's the vibe I got from this episode. Throwing shit at the wall at this point.
Eddie's partner returns with NO explanation unless I missed it.
NFL job offering out of the blue although I did like the idea of Frank doing something for himself after a life of service.
Erin preaching to everyone as usual. All I could think of was being forced into a family dinner every Sunday. No way.
Danny and Jamie were off character to me. Jamie greeted Sean with an attitude of what do want and impatience at the station while Danny was a dick to everyone but especially Sean. That comment at the table along the lines of if you don't have the stones stay in the car or something? Just awful. Clearly Sean is going through something with respect to how he's feeling within the mighty Reagan family dynamic and father of the year goes full testosterone on him.
And since I'm on the topic, they stereotyped that family with the abusive father who was murdered.

I agree the writing is getting lame. No way best boyfriend/ husband ever would ever have not supported Eddie. I thought maybe she was under cover on some super secret sting operation especially with that shoe. I mean I don't know what you wear to Sergeant class but ya idk.
This is the worst mayor incarnation I think the show has had. Like the actor but not his character.
Need closure on Eddie's partner.
Enjoyed the Fonzie reference although I guess you have to be a certain demographic to appreciate it so glad the show targeted me. Lol

I can't believe the number of contestants tonight who chose terrible boring audition songs. Do they even watch the show? I understand staying in your comfort zone because the judges hear nerves but you have to show range. The one guy (Mandy?) was lucky Blake turned for him.
Country singer Pitcher guy never performed in front of an audience. Decent voice but nervous and no control. Well I'm a pitcher was his explanation to the judges on the no audience experience. I get what he's saying but ya not the same thing. This season...

Well the promos worked though lol. I tuned in for the Victor but I'm staying because I'm enjoying this show. Covid mandated Canadian guest stars is so perfect.

Almost too good. My tolerance right now for random violence and idiocy is very low. Enough of it every day in the news. Seeing those two kids shot like that was jarring and I came very close to leaving the series. Not to mention this storyline lost me so appreciate all the explanations here.
Love Callie Thorne from Necessary Roughness so hope she returns. I believe in mediums so I don't care. I like her with Danny.
Len Cariou does't age. Like the show has been on for 12 years! He looks the same. Love gramps. Also Selleck gets to do most of his scenes sitting down with the odd standing at a podium. Nice work if you can get it. Good for him. He's earned it.

You might get your wish. I'm expecting this storyline to end in suicide. The shot of her other gun (supposedly her father's), the emphasis on how difficult it is right now to be a police officer, her convincingly deflecting Eddie's concern, and the Captain being a total dick to her set this up imo.

Maybe it's because I'm older than her fan base so I really don't have any invested opinions of her. I find her critiquing is smart and not just the same repeated stuff. Kelly said to one of the contestants who had a great voice btw but didn't make it something like I was waiting to hear space. Like what does that even mean?? And I love Kelly.

Kelly wasn't expecting it either. I always enjoy her surprised reactions because they are genuine.
Also enjoyed Carson trying to coach Ariana saying you should have blocked him (John). Not sure that was meant to be seen and they just left it in. Funny that there's side stuff going on.
The judges bantering doesn't bother me as much the audience screaming over the singers throughout their performance especially for the auditions. It makes it so hard to hear them. I don't remember it being this loud in the past.

Not a fan of live episodes but it was fun watching them cut to an empty staircase, the live framing adjustments, and Ames quickly repeating his line when he realized the audience had laughed and clapped over it.
I'm not a shrink and psychics aside, I wonder if Darlene chasing after Ben is more about her being unable to accept her own behavioural flaws, that someone has stood up to her and called her out on her bullshit along with the fear of failure again than it is about her loving him. And I suggest this as someone who can't stand like can't stand Ben.

Multiple storylines but none of them were Erin and her DA saga so episode was a win for me.
Pregnancy plot made me feel like I fell asleep and woke up in 1972. I think it was to ultimately reveal Eddie's future plans.
Old Danny would have slugged one of the cell phone do gooders. His character has really matured over the years. I thought the episode presented this really well. That woman would have totally been viewed as a Karen and it showed how perception and reality could be skewed by only seeing a few seconds of video from an incident. I like the Danny/Baez relationship. There's a realness to it. Not sure it's romantic but it's believable.
Alex Kingston was a plus.
Gramps was grumpy. Again. He's lucky he has a big family to care about him. Not the reality of many seniors. Edited to add, if I were Jamie I would have 100% told Frank what happended but keep it on the down low. Frank should know. The exact same thing happened in my building with an elderly tenant. Started a fire. Luckily it was able to be put out before other apartments were affected. I remember the paramedics taking a family member aside for a chat when they arrived.
