  1. Totally Team Erin! She looked great....
  2. yes to all...and the choreography looks forced with her. (translation: not comfortable looking)
  3. I really liked Dayton...so pretty and has a natural, effortless style to her dancing. She also seems very laid back and sensitive in the very best way. DCC, in its current training camp format is like a hazing- not a good fit for some personalities. She would be a wonderful DCC and well liked by all. I hope she does try out when the show goes off the air. Until then, I hope she pursues other avenues that she would shine in. She and Madeline S. have that ingenue look and talent that do very well in NY and other markets, which is not something I can say about a lot of the current DCC's. Some, yes, but only handful. (none in the current triangle) There is something to be said about a quiet radiance that you can't fake....
  4. I rarely comment on body shots...but omg....a body to die for. Gorgeous...she, Jaylyn, Rachel A, Rachel W,Alexis, and my favorite Erin -are very sexy and in my personal opinion, classy as well.
  5. agree completely...its distracting to see these in lobbies/hallways, and filmed at weird angles. I think they are trying to be edgy but its not...lol...
  6. yep....i think Molly look the best and most at ease with the choreography.
  7. Why in the world would this beautiful girl do this? She didn’t seem the type to fall for this....her lips were already pouty and naturally full...
  8. I'm pulling for Meredith or Chandi...
  9. I'm pretty sure the Joffrey Ballet in Dallas is only a summer intensive? The Joffrey school almost went under awhile back and is now very much a business....they still attract good dancers because of the name but it's really full of modern/Broadway types, as well as ballet. Teens that are going to Texas for ballet intensives usually have Houston Ballet as their goal. I think the mix of styles is a good move and update for Joffrey, as even in NY, most dancers just want to get into their company, not have to go through the ranks of the school. (It's kind of like a family that had old money and prestige - but lost it, and is now riding on the family name!)
  10. I could only watch 10 seconds...I just can't...
  11. Most serious dancers compete for the teacher's corrections and attention. They LOVE getting corrected, as the teachers/choreographers, etc will gravitate towards the talented. Dancers do not expect tons of praise either....and when praise is given, it really means something. Yes, even being strict. By the way, I'm not taking about the 7 years olds that I teach. For them, I distribute an even amount of attention and use corrections in a manner that is appropriate. It's the older students, especially the ones on a more serious track.
  12. If you watch Amber in the back, her use of arms is very good, controlled and really in sync with the choreography. It's subtle but noticeable....she's such a nice balanced dancer!! (the girl in front center was annoying and reeked of 'trying too hard'....which is always uncomfortable for the viewer) The girl in front to the right...she looked like Kali from a few years back?
  13. Amber is really strong...very precise. Nothing against any of them but as there is so much critiquing Victoria...my observations are: she's a perfectly fine 'DCC style dancer' with a background in 'lyrical' classes, jazz, etc...where she executes the same series of steps/combinations over and over. These are the same sequences that are shown in solos, DCC in Motions, etc...and I suspect in competitions. Her technique is pretty standard of many girls in countless dance studios. (this is not a dig) She has very pretty legs (her best feature) but I can't help noticing she doesn't pull up supporting leg much and has trouble with transitions (from seeing her in several areas/clips, etc) This is certainly why her turns are hit or miss. Her alignment in the air with some of her jumps (especially the turn with attitude) is awkward and even her feet are borderline sickling at times. But she's fine for what this is....(DCC) A lot of dancers want instant gratification with their training...learnng tricks, jumps, etc...and not really getting that being a well trained dancer is an INSIDE JOB. As far as the whole DCC in Motion...I think it's just a platform for the girls to have more performing opportunities to showcase their dancing. The choreography was simple for this latest one but I liked the casual clothing and the big openess of the "stage". It also suited the girls' ability. (The one with Gina, Bridget, and Lisa was a little uncomfortable to watch...as Lisa was out of her element and the whole trio looked like they were dancing in a hallway...) Love that there are so many opinion here!
  14. Agree on all counts... what she really had going for her was you could check off all the boxes: really pretty, sexy, All-American girl look, & fresh-natural looking (not fake, cheap, platinum blond),She had the ability to morph back and forth between these looks....and radiated in her performance style and the camera LOVED her. And yes, great body with perfect proportions. It's not common for a dancer/cheerleader to have all this at her disposal. I think Dayton has the same kind of assets...beautiful & wholesome, but can pull off sultry/sexy, innocence, and all american too. (come to think of it...Madleine S. has potential in all of this too...love her!)
  15. They all look really good and very cohesive...unlike the trio for this season- which is a mismatched group. The 2 points are the least sexy/beautiful...and Amy in particular, is plain and short legged. The difference in the 'wow' factor is unbelievable.
  16. When you look back on your glory days...dancing, or any type of ensemble grouping (a musical theater show, USO tour, dance company, etc) or whatever...its the relationships and friendships - and all the funny, endearing moments you shared (backstage, on tour...)that you will treasure.
  17. I don't know of any professional ballet school that only gives their student's ballet classes ...(I work for a professional ballet school for a very good ballet company.)The dancers take obviously a lot of ballet...but also contemporary dance (and kill it), character and flamenco, variations, partnering, and rep class. At our school, the dancers take one semester of contempt and the second semester is jazz. No one is home schooled. But it is very rigorous and leaves little else for the students.
  18. yep....read any pro dancer bio and most have not won any competition. (convention type of competitions....they are known money makers) For the clip of holiday show, I loved Jaylyn. She may not have had a lot of ballet...(its actually hard to tell sometimes from the few clips and DCC stuff) but she is talented and would get hired post DCC land. My eye did go to Amanda...shes a good performer, great body, but poor posture. Its quite noticeable.
  19. Very pretty and so much more relaxed looking...
  20. Agree...If the rules were not to have them (photos) on their phones and she did...she did break a rule. (Yes, i know shes a victim) Have no problem with Heather who I LOVE getting some sort of punishment but after her not getting a leadership position in year 3, her punishment should have ended...if anything she held her head high and was a great leader/team player. I was really rooting for her for PB. So glad she got the swimsuit cover...
  21. I cannot agree with you enough!!! If i were on the team with this drama, it would take more to get me to retire. A dancer (cheerleader) that is getting this propped up ahead of others more talented is not uncommon. A smart girl would just be better at everything: show leadership, responsibility, humility, and have her spidey senses on high alert. This combination will usually drive the ‘favorite’ crazy, as she can’t catch you in anything. You also have to make yourself incredibly likable and appear genuine in the midst of all. Basically, you need to put on a Meryl Streep performance. Kelli is playing hard favorites but she is no dummy. She needs a team of 36.
  22. Caroline is a strong dancer, and looks to be very consistent. I love her figure too...but I agree, she’s pretty, but in a typical, waspy way. She has the look of a lot of pretty/attractive girls who go to college in the northeast. But she does look smart and has that all- American girl look: pretty and relatable.
