  1. A few people have mentioned this, but for me the key is insubordination to your boss.  You just cannot be openly or passively aggressive to your supervisor and expect to keep your job, no matter how incompetent you think your supervisor is.  There are procedures for complaints in most jobs, whether on  Super Yacht or working at Walmart.   I was stunned that Capt. Lee didn't give Rachel a plane ticket after her outburst.  I am aware that there is a certain dynamic at play with Bravo calling the shots about hiring and firing, so maybe failure to censure the insubordination or immediate termination is not an option.

  2. I am thinking the other girls could be jealous, because Hannah did get the Golden Ticket with a Prime spot on that awful Bravo show.  Any Summer House viewer could barely believe she was chosen, because the girl is a mess and can barely talk.

Thanks!  The link is really interesting especially the breakdown of what the "charterer" can be expected to pay.

I thought some of the cabins on any of the BD franchise boats were reserved for the production crew.  They need somewhere to stash all those rolls of film!

I have read that the film crew has their own small boat and comes aboard during certain hours. Most of the film crew are housed ashore.

Do you guys think Brandon and his parents are worse than Colt and Debbie?

I know it's unpopular here to say "I love Debbie", but I do.  She is just doing her thing tying to save her ridiculous son from being even more of an ass than he already is, and she is a fine actress for TLC and their little stories.  I would be her gambling buddy, sitting right  there next to her at her slot machine.  I couldn't be in a room for one minute with Betty.

  5. I guess I have watched too many Alaska shows.  This new bunch is already annoying me:  1)The former soldier with PTSD who hunts beaver with a pistol and says he is a nomad. 2) The former "Port Protection" TV couple trying to dig a well by hand 3) The chef from Chicago shooting a caribou by firing until he runs out of ammo and then goes to see if he killed anything 4) The young parents.

It might be OK if they didn't use that "fill the freezer" to survive line.  Hello..the FREEZER?

Yes, I was thinking moth balls or maybe even cedar.  Or just man-boy.  🙂

I have to go with mold or kitty litter as someone mentioned upthread.  I think Mike looks like the kind of guy who doesn't pay attention to  household chores or maintenance.  Shame on him for not showing any houseguests how to operate his appliances, let alone his foreign fiance.  If these women spent one tenth the time they spend on make-up tutorials on learning about their new environments, they'd have a chance of happiness.

  7. OK. I am shallow and old.  I can't believe the level of decorating on this show.  All the homes look like they have been decorated by someone who is colorblind with the requirement to shop at thrift stores and homeless camps.  I realize they have no money for this show, but Kayla's apartment is the worst, replacing Hope's apartment, which was downright scary.  The dungeons look better.  Maybe people who live near Chicago actually use this total mismatch of fabrics and accessories, and I am out of touch.  I won't get started on the clothes.

  8. I thought I heard last season that the $20,000 was a partial repayment of a $30,000 payment given to Sumit's parents by the parents of his new wife and that was one reason the in-laws were so rabid about Sumit just walking away from the marriage.  Anyone else remember this?

WTH with Peppa questioning Olivia about giving up on the relationship. Um, she came home to find he had moved out without telling her and had taken all the food. This is on Brett. Also, why was he freaking out about her visiting her family? It would be one thing if she had been quarantining, but she’s been going to work every day.

in Brett's defense, It was mentioned that her town was put on on lockdown.  Only essential travel to and from work was authorized during that time.  In Olivia's defense, she didn't use the term visiting her parents, but rather "checking on her parents"  She is a nurse practitioner and perhaps they had health needs.  We weren't told.

Catching up on last Thursday's episode.  Sonny really needs to shave, or find someone to shave him. He's looking like a homeless addict.

Nik goes to Julian asking if he's heard from Ava. Ned goes to Julian asking if he's heard from Olivia. What is Julian, the town crier?

Michael asks Elizabeth if he should still have Wylie's surgery at GH. Maybe ask your grandmother, the former Chief of Staff at GH and a cardiac surgeon instead?  She would know better the quality of surgeons at GH, although Elizabeth could tell you about the care he'd receive on the floor.

Where I live, referrals to specialists have to be made by the family doctor. Can you just pick one and go directly to her/him in the US?

It depends on the requirements of your medical insurance.  Usually if you belong to an HMO, you need referrals and I am sure some surgeons require them, but it's also possible to go directly some surgeons.

There’s a great line from Justified. “If you get to the end of the day and you met an asshole, you met an asshole. If you met a bunch of assholes, then you’re the asshole.” At some point you’d hope Mackenzie realizes the whole “everybody misunderstands me!!” all the time is actually her misunderstanding herself.

You’re right Mackenzie. He doesn’t care.

My heart stopped.  :Thank you for the wisdom of "Justified".  You brought me right back to one of my favorite shows ever and I can see that exact scene where that was uttered.

  12. Since I have never been on a private yacht, I don't know whether the crew is obligated to "play" with the guests or if it's  just this TLC yacht?  It seems like they are busy enough doing their assigned each maintenance jobs (laundry, putting out the equipment, serving, cooking, cleaning, etc.), then to be expected to do martial arts, ride jet skis, dance in skimpy costumes, frisbee games, and so on.  It seems like many of those play activities could be done by a hired person like they do for belly dancing, mariachis, massages....

  13. If Bennett cares for Amelia as much as we think he does, he will go anywhere with her.  He is a free-spirited adventurous guy.   I followed a husband to a foreign country  to live and I bet many of you did too, just for love:))  Her plan has always been to return to New Orleans when her residency is over, so I think they are going to make it.

I can't forget that Christina is a flight attendant, who is too junior to get the good routes or first class assignments.  Maybe her secret is that she has lost her job?  (tries not to trash rude flight attendants)  Henry needs a woman who needs him, like his friend did.  Maybe secretly Christina is really needy?? I feel like the older couple at the party may be her aunt and uncle.  I think it was mentioned somewhere that she stays with them when she is in New Orleans.

    Brett and Olivia--NOPE

It's hard for me to imagine that Karen and Miles are just beginning to kiss.  Things have changed since the old days!  By the third hour, I would have been kissing that guy.  Amani and Woody have the right pace as far as I am concerned.

  14. Can you say ENTITLED??  I was livid when Jamie and Beth decided they had to fly across country because they "wanted" to.  We've all been stuck home since March, having our groceries delivered, not seeing our friends or relatives except over Zoom or Skype.  Kids not being able to go to school, people losing their livelihoods and their lives, because people continue spreading the virus out of arrogance or ignorance is just making me crazy.

Now I will have a good cry with Danielle, because I am one of those pet-owners who has lost two 17 and 18 year old doggies and know how it feels.

Jen thinks she’s hot shit but mostly she looks like a cross-eyed buck-toothed chinless harridan. Who says “what is your song?” during a dinner?! Is she already wasted? If someone demanded I sing the Canadian anthem during our first meeting, I’d be like get out of life, thanks. I don’t know her but I know I wouldn’t like her.

I think Tania’s hamming it up for the cameras because who gets that hysterical about their husband’s lack of career in front of their in-laws? And lol about South Africa being racist and impoverished like the US isn’t. It’s obvious Syngin has no interest in putting roots down in the US. Or ever having a steady job. Or becoming a father. Let the guy go, man. He wants to drift through life, taking opportunities as they come and that’s totally fine. But he has no business being a father and I hope to god they don’t bring kids into the mix.

It will be no time at all before he is selling his mother's refrigerator!

That couple was blowing smoke.  If they bought that condo as their only home, I am Dolly Parton.  Husband looks like one of those wheeler dealer guys who just loses money with his bad taste.  He wanted to replace the kitchen that had  granite and stainless with what??  Formica and avocado green appliances?

  17. This show makes me so emotional. Tears were rolling down my face when Kielyn or Callie? caught those fish.  I just got caught up in her joy.  I don't think this makes her a lesser winner because she is emotional over a victory.

I have a hard time liking the competitors who start and then quit because they miss their families after 30 days  As a military wife, I am reminded of the deployed soldiers who miss their families daily and are often in imminent danger. Years ago, those soldiers might remain in a remote outpost for over a year (thinking WWI and II, Vietnam or Korea here)--no Skype, infrequent mail, and brutal conditions.

Because Yazan has seen the wild, hot Brittany, and THAT'S what he wants.  But he expects Brittany to play the part of the subservient, submissive, conservative Muslim housewife.  He has been hinting to her all along that she should convert, get married immediately, and always wear a hijab.  She has been hinting to him all along that she has no plans to do any of that.    I personally believe that Yazan is more concerned over what his parents & the general public see in Brittany.  Maybe he should move to Florida.  Then he can do all the drugs and/or alcohol he wants.

In one of the first episodes, Brittany mentioned that Yazan loved his Tramadol.  So he is already at a minimum involved with drugs, at the maximum, an addict.

  19. With all the awful television we have to deal with because of COVID production issues, normal summer reruns, and idiotic game shows, this show is just a breath of fresh air.  I find my self counting the days until it's on again and so disappointed when the hour is over.   With all the footage the network must have, I wish we could see more of it.  The realism is so emotional to watch.

Count me among the confused about Marcus' "House Mom". At first I thought he was just describing a housekeeper but gave her a different name but the pants conversation seemed really off and/or inauthentic.

The house mom thing reminds me of the woman on The Bachelor (corrine I think) who still had a nanny to make her mac and cheese.
