  1. The saddest situation was the family who had lost one home to Katrina and another to fire, and were now situated in a family property covered with toxic mud from a leak.  The family was so supportive of one another and the adult children were determined to help their parents, even if it meant that their own dreams had to be put aside.

  2. I think Matt mostly lives in Hawaii with his wife and baby.  Misty spends a lot of time in Hawaii too, since that is where her husband is from.  I can't ever decide if I like Marty at all, but I do like the show.  I do think it's a waste of time for Matt ( in the older seasons) to spend so much time teaching people to hunt for food, since most places have limited hunting seasons for non-natives.  Teaching homesteaders to manage livestock and protect from predation seems to be a better use of time.  In earlier seasons, I resented being told that "a friendly neighbor" helped procure a huge industrial piece of equipment or helped finish a build.  This season, they mention that there are other construction employees on the site and the equipment is rented.

  3. One of the "poster couples" for MAFS past seasons is Eric and Virginia.  Nothing to be proud of, experts!

Brett and Ryan --oh nooo.  He is someone who has dated thousands of women in Houston and that says douche to me.  She is very assertive but has not even dated in two years.

  4. For integrity purposes, no man should be allowed to enter late, unless the others all drop dead first.

For integrity purposes, no man should be allowed to enter who has had prior secret interaction with the Bachelorette.

    This show has no integrity.

(I also wonder about producer elimination.  Perhaps he was recruited for the show with the intent of him being the next lead, as I  suspect happened with Katie).

I totally agree with you.  Some are selected to be eliminated early, some selected to be villains, a few are selected to possibly interest the lead, and many are selected just to audition for Bachelor.  I am angry on behalf of all those guys who gave up their jobs and left their families, when the producers allow a Bachelor or Bachelorette to invite someone mid-season that he/she has been courting pre-show.

OMG, Sam looks awful. He really needs a beard to look hot.  Also, did he get fillers?  His face looks odd too.

I believe Sam put on weight and his hairline was odd, as if he had a little hair transplant.

Billy looked ridiculous with that little boy shirt popping its buttons over his  beer gut.

I am also wondering what redeeming qualities Lizzy had that made the powers that be choose her to come back for the next season.  As we all saw, her outward appearance changed for Season 7, but she remained unpleasant.

  7. Jeff and Steven hit the wall with the cold.  Jeff had not wanted to work on the shelter, acting like he was at Bay Scout Day Camp.  While I don't wish them ill health, I am happy to see them uncomfortable.  I guess their third grade education did not include the Ant and the Grasshopper story.

While I did previously mention the dreaded 'experts' situation last week, particularly an interesting article on Dr. Trisha Stratford, a REAL clinical neuro-psychotherapist, I've since found a much more insightful article that I think explains Dr, Trisha's honest assessment of what MSFSA can do to a genuinely compassionate & professional Dr.'s psyche. 😧 (Not to mention the effect on the pitiful "experimentees.")  🥺

Thanks for the article.  It gave good insight into the ridiculousness we all see.  I prefer the format of this version of MAFS to the American version, but the Aussies seem to have more over-the-top characters.  The women spend a lot of time and money on personal grooming, make-up, plastic surgery, injections, and image, while many of the the men are mostly sloppy and unconcerned about the impression they make.

  9. I may be watching this season alone.

I love Shawn's optimism.  It seems he and has dad have been able to work together towards the old man's retirement plan.  Shawn has made and lost more money than any of us will ever see, so I hope that he really is successful with his grand plan.  He has matured since his first seasons when he could hardly stay sober enough to work.

Emily is the same with bad equipment and iffy divers.  I am glad she didn't knuckle under to Darrell's demands, even though he was her best diver.  Her dad is still a disaster and I hate that the show is trying to make him relevant yet again.  I fast forward through all his stupid!! segments.

The Kellys are the same grifters and losers.  I do like the youngest Kelly, who is like your screw-up nephew with  big heart.  For his sake, I'd like to see Chris find some gold.  The boat captain is the best part of that team, giving me a chuckle now and then.

Zeke is back with an entourage of burnout friends and relatives.  His sailboat dredge is funny and they will maybe make enough gold to keep them in good pot. I used to think he had the brightest future of al the original miners. He wants to make pentagrams to sell to rappers????

Vernon--wash, rinse, repeat.  He is my least favorite dredger with his impractical grand schemes.  He reminds me of a gambler who can never win at cards.  Nothing better than diving for gold in a one-foot creek.

  10. Jenna was dealt a bad hand in the parent department.  Fortunately for her, she seems to have the guts to tell them all to go to hell and the desire to be a good parent to both her baby and goofball boyfriend, who is working to support his family.  I can't blame Heather for wanting to kick her ex-husband's ass every time she sees him, even without knowing all the details.  I don't even know him and I want to kick his ass.  He is the gold standard for abusive exes everywhere.

Lily has a dangerous situation if she ever leaves her parent's home with Lawrence.  He dislikes her older child and will show that daily.  His open pouting and ass-showing on the tell-all is only controlled by his mother.    Lily is in for 18 years of hell.

The Tara family will survive with multiple babies and various absentee fathers, as the girls continue to spread their wings.  Alex will continue to have temper tantrums like the man/baby he is and make more adorable children.  Grandma will have to continue to work at the fast food joint to support her unfortunate daughter and her fun-loving grandson and take care of their babies after work.

Myrka, who had sex with Ethan after a week (two weeks?) of knowing him, will have more babies, but maybe not with Ethan.  She is looking for love and acceptance from anyone.  Ethan's parents clearly had infidelity somewhere in their relationship and their perfect support system collapsed.  We all know that what follows is financial collapse and a broken family, even if they somehow get back together.  It looks as if Charley likes Michelle's new look.  Ethan continues to look clueless.

The show should fill us with hope and admiration for the teenagers who fight to have their babies, but instead highlights the level of dysfunction in their families and the utter hopelessness of their situations.

  11. I really loved tonight's episode.  The genuine family moments shown tonight were the season's best.  I tried not to cry when Bobby and Danielle's baby was born, but I was so happy for them.  I think Doug's idea of being a stay-at-home dad is a good idea, since Henley needs a little help to understand not to hurt the baby.  As much as we criticize some of the terrible couples matched by the experts, this group is a real success.

  12. These staged scenarios on Couples Cam really bother me, especially Jamie and Beth.   I am too lazy to fast forward a segment in which I am uninterested, but I  am a proactive FF when it comes to their scenes.  The pot brownie thing---so fake.

So you think Ines is beautiful? i know the unlucky guy she got matched with said she was gorgeous, but I think she's pretty plain and, with her ugly personality, not at all appealing.

I actually said that she was into beauty,  not that I thought she was beautiful.  I agree with you that she is not beautiful in any way.

Chris supposedly makes 4x as much as the accountant. And, the accountant didn't question that. He doesn't believe in joint accounts even though there will be joint bills. Maybe Chris is scared that Paige will see though the smoke and mirrors of his finances if they share accounts.

    BINGO!!!  You win!

Mike and Natalie. I mentioned this in the online chat but I do wonder if TLC  is playing the game. I mean look at Anna and Mursel.  They turned their boring storyline into something because he left during the 90 days and then came back in the 11th hour.  I mean we saw Natalie take off at the beginning of the show so Mike will probably chase her down with the ring, do some grand gesture on how he loves her on one knee and they marry at the courthouse the next day with Uncle Bo as witness,

This is exactly what I think.  Mike is playing a part for TLC.  Natalie would be gone by now.
