  1. Yay! I watched the Hawaii episodes too over the weekend. MeTV shows the episodes nearly uncut and I am seeing scenes I haven't seen since the early days of the show's syndication. Like when David is taking the family sight seeing and he tells them that the islanders advised against construction of Peal Harbor as the area is was situated on was cursed.

  2.

And I'm starting to get attached to the GEICO free range chicken....

I love that commercial! The expression on the chicken's face when she sees the sunnyside up eggs -- she's like, "What the what?"

Edited because the chicken is obviously female.

  3. Noah's death is going to be one of those TV moments that will haunt me the rest of my days. And Steven Yeun did some damn fine Vivien Leigh acting with his reactions in that scene.

I wonder if Rick has a little calendar where he marks off the number of days he's managed to keep his white T-shirt clean.

If the season finale is more intense than tonight's episode was, I'm going to need a sedative with a Crazy Cheese chaser.

  4. Did anyone else notice that the song playing while Rick kisses Jessie is a piano arrangement of "Away In A Manger?" Just caught that during the re-watch. Considering that Jessie was holding Judith right before the kiss, and the show's tendency for avoiding subtlety whenever possible, perhaps Judith is the light of the world.

  5. I'm going to actively campaign to make "Who's Deanna?" the new "where's the beef?" And everybody should say it like Abraham. (It could be because Chris Hardwick snarked so hard on that line last week on TTD, but when Abraham said it I laughed out loud.)

I guess this episode is the closest we'll ever know what a post-ZA episode of "House Hunters" would be like.

Andrew Lincoln should do commercials for Gillette. I could watch him shave all day.

Daryl would do well to remember what happened to Hawkeye and BJ on "MASH" when they refused to take showers.

So now he's "The Dashing Ben Seewald"? What, does Jessa think he's Arkansas's answer to Cary Grant or something?

Jessa Blessa has probably never heard of Cary Grant, as he wasn't one of Jesus' disciples. And dashing is not a word I would use to describe that mouth breather. Every time I see her with him I want to yell at the TV, "You can do so much better, girl!" I have a suspicion that Bin is so dumb it takes him forever to wash his hair as he just can't understand when to stop repeating after he lathers and rinses.

  7. In the "Supersized" episode (stay classy, TLC!) it was also mentioned that Susan was able to quit smoking while she was losing weight. I don't think her smoking habit was mentioned in the original airing.

Also, one of the pop-ups said that the scars on Susan's stomach were from boils that she had scratched. Um, ew. Didn't really need to know that!

  8. Pauline needs counseling. She is never going to be able to deal with her food addiction without some sort of psychiatric intervention. If what she says is true -- that she was deprived of food when she was a child because her parents split up and her family didn't have access to welfare -- she is always going to be seeking food because she's always going to be trying to feed that child who didn't get enough to eat.

Also, every time she said she was feeling nauseous, I wanted Drew Barrymore's character from "Never Been Kissed" to pop in and tell her that the correct adjective is nauseated.

  9. Do these people buy pregnancy tests in bulk? And take one every hour of the day? I'm surprised they don't refer to them as Jesus sticks.

Boob saying that Jill and Derick had "figured out stuff" or whatever he said made my skin crawl. Yes, they have had the sex and now they are having the baby. Boob is so gross.

Even minor wounds can kill in a world without antibiotics.

Seriously! And alcohol -- even the rotgut variety -- can be used to treat wounds as well.

I have been waiting for Rick's "We Are The Walking Dead" speech for a long time, but I didn't think it had as much as an impact in the show as it did in the source material. It was kind of like the delinquent in "I Accuse My Parents" standing up in court and telling the judge that he accuses his parents. (MST3k fans, are you with me on this?)

Good Lord, the way Chandler Rigg is growing, at the beginning of season six he's going to be 6'4".

I can't imagine what it would be like to suffer the kind of hunger and thirst these characters must endure. Heck, my sweetie and I were told that it would be a three-hour wait for a table last night at our favorite restaurant and we were like, "Forget that! We'll just get some Chik-fil-A."

Susan yelling at the fast food cashier was really irritating,

I really admire the restraint of the fast food worker. Had I been in her place, I would have been all, "Look, when you order half the menu, it's going to take time to put it all together."

Did anyone notice the factoid that popped up that Chuck drank three POTS of coffee a day? I can't imagine that being healthy. I wonder if that is an existing or post-surgery habit? Can coffee act like an appetite suppressant? I was shocked to read that.

I saw that! And my stomach automatically began to ache. I worked as a hotel night auditor for three years and basically lived on coffee. After a while it did a real number on the lining of my stomach, not to mention my nerves.

Also, did Paula say she works 80 hours a week? How does she even find time to go to the gym?

I'm a mean and petty person.  I know that. So maybe it is no surprise how much I HATE the snack bar commercials that feature the blind father who uses his daughter a a guide animal through the wilderness.

I couldn't agree more with your post. That commercial has been on my shit list for some time now. If his daughter wants to take pictures with her phone, it's her business. At least she's not taking a selfie of her and daddy dearest doing duck lips.

  14. See, I used to think I watched old people TV and that was the reason Alex Trebek was telling me that I can't be turned down for life insurance regardless of my health. But then I watched "The Walking Dead" marathon on AMC last week and was bombarded with commercials about walk-in tubs and what not. So seniors really must love zombies too. ;)

  15.

That Frosty Returns special, though, that was an abomination. I can't deal with it.

It's truly terrible. The animation is sub-par and the ONE song is so unmemorable and bland it must have been penned by a Jonas Brother or two while still in diapers.

I have the original recipe "Rudolph" on DVD along with several other specials. I watched it last weekend and saw the peppermint mine scene. That is so cute! I collected all the "Rudolph" plush toys that CVS put out a few years ago. I wish that I had the sled dogs and the Eskimos!
