Because I was so sure this show would noy allow any Starks to be happy, ever, I was irrationally giddy at the Sansa/Jon reunion. And "yay" to Sansa for bringing Jon around on taking back Winterfell. I think she is finally sick and tired of being other people's puppets.
RIP, Osha ... like others said, at least it was a quick, torture-free death.
I almost forgot how much I hate Little Finger ... he's quite the smarmy bastard, ain't he?
Dany channeling her inner Mad King was some kind of wonderful.

He's had like two scenes with him; I'm sure he likes him, but I haven't seen anything to justify why he's asking for Mel to try to bring him back from the dead. They really should have had Davos go to Hardhome with Jon if this was the direction they were going to go.
JMO, I think Davos knows the real business will be at the wall, and that Jon was/is the best hope for defending the north against the coming zombie apocalypse.

That raises the question about whether a different actress could have played Mandy in a way that made the character more palatable.
It's a good question, PeterP, but I think the problem was more with the character than the actress. I love just about everything Moira Kelly's been in, but I couldn't abide Mandy. Her main quality was supposedly she was this super-duper political operative, but when did the show display those qualities? Instead, we got this woman whining about panda bears and the President not agreeing to her photo op ideas.

The Santos character gradually grew on me ... at first, I didn't care for him at all. I credit that to the writers and Smits finally getting a bead on the character.

I know a few million words have probably been written about Toby's exit storyline, and I really don't have much to add to the argument, but can I merely say I loved "Here Today," for no other reason than Richard Schiff (and Oliver Pratt) acted the hell out of that episode. If Schiff really hated the way his character was treated in Season 7, he sure didn't let it affect his work.

I also feel compelled to share my other UO (at least, as far as I can tell reading back threads) - I LOVED Diane. Every down and dirty, cat-fight, flirt-with-McGee, claws out part of her. She was right for both men during the time she was with each. Until she realized Gibbs was her Shannon.
Oh, me, too. I really looked forward to episodes when Diane was in the promos ... She was bright, feisty, funny and a beauty, to boot. Sure, she was strong coffee, but I like strong coffee.

I like Hathor. No, I don't know why. But I do.
Hathor, for me, is strangely watchable ... I don't think it's good, mind you, but I can't turn away from watching the train wreck, if you catch my drift.

As someone who usually enjoys Jeanne episodes, this one really didn't paint her in a good light. I like the chemistry the actress has with Michael Weatherly, but their characters' 'ship has definitely sailed.

Yeah, Will gave him the pep talk ... so I guess that means Charlie was the stalker and Will was his enabler -- or something like that.

On rewatching "Privateers," I was struck by how much I hated the scene between Charlie and Zoey, in which he "respectfully" declares his intentions to keep pursuing her. I know this is supposed to be some kind of grand romantic gesture by Charlie, but he comes off sounding like a stalker.

And absolutely no one seemed to miss one of the most powerful men in government for hours and hours??
Well, I fanwank it as Jed had just fired Leo, so it wasn't as if he was worried about his immediate whereabouts (probably figured Leo arranged his own transportation, etc.) ...
I admit that's not the strongest argument to be made ...
OK, you're right ... it wasn't handled well.

A lot of people posted way upthread about the episode in which CJ has the root canal. While Allison Janney absolutely killed it, another great line is Toby's exasperated, "I swear to God, CJ, if you say 'pwesident' or 'bwief' one more time ..." Something in Schiff's delivery just slays me every time I hear that line.

I'm not going to defend "Isaac and Ismael," but I did enjoy at least a few parts of it, mostly with the staff talking to the students.
The rest — especially the part with Leo dealing with the guy suspected of terrorist ties — were incredibly meh.
In short, the episode looked exactly like what it was: A throw-in.

I also think Season 5, overall, is a bit of a letdown from the previous seasons, but I give it a pass because John Wells' team was still finding its legs.
The kidnapping arc was excellent, IMO, as was John Goodman's character (although he was little more than comic relief in "The Stormy Present").
"The Supremes" might be the finest hour of the show (YMMV, I concede). I've watched it dozens of times and still enjoy it immensely.
The rest of the season, however, is not terribly re-watchable.

It's official, I have a very hard time watching this franchise because I cannot stand Lasalle's voice.
At least Lucas' drawl is authentic ... Scott's on again, off again accent is what irritates me.

Bummer about Weatherly leaving. The Tony character gradually grew on me over the years — absolutely grating in the beginning, but funny and uber-competent now.
No one (except maybe Harmon) is irreplaceable on this show, but Weatherly's successor has his (or her) work cut out for them.

Considering just the main cast females:
-- Kate: She was OK, although she was mainly just a foil for Tony. Maybe my opinion would be different if she'd been on the show longer.
-- Ziva: Probably the best, but that's by default. When they showed her being a skilled agent, I enjoyed watching. When they brought up Mossad or her daddy issues, I snoozed.
-- Bishop: Totally beige.
-- Abby: Love the humor and the competency at her job. Hate the little girl that keeps bubbling up inside her.
-- Jenny: Didn't die soon enough.

I'm still really over the Bishop thing. I was in the Affair Is Cover camp and I think I still am but I find myself caring less. I like it when they're all in committed relationships, that are all 99% offscreen, but if I can't have that, I'll take them all not being in relationships, that are all 99% offscreen.
Hear, hear. The only thing, IMO, that the special little snowflake had going for her was a stable home life, which is exceedingly rare in the NCIS-verse.Now, she doesn't even have that, which makes her totally vanilla. Don't care.

Ducky's father's second wife was a ridiculous caricature, I have to say. She doesn't appear to have any motive beyond doing whatever will make her look the most heartless at any given moment
You're so right, Sean C, and it's a testament to my enjoyment of the Ducky story that I completely forgot about shrew wife 5 seconds after her final scene.

Love any episode with a heaping dose of CCH Pounder, and this one didn't disappooint. Two parts I especially liked ... when Danny was about to talk to Pride and Mama Lion Wade put the brakes on, demanding he have an attorney ... and the "how about a hug" scene with Sebastian (too many times, he's little more than comic relief ... it was nice to see he's actually a part of the NOLA family).
