I'm headed to New York in early February. Any recommendations for shows? I'm big into musicals but up for anything on or off Broadway.

God, Taika is such a gorgeous man. I could sit and look at him all day. And he's a damn good actor too. He broke my heart in that moment of Ed's realization that he hated himself.
I'm so glad this show is back and so mad that I can't just binge the whole season.

There's no way to predict how anyone will change. My parents did everything "right". I was homeschooled and went to a religious private college. 20 years later, my beliefs are almost polar opposite to how I was raised.
I think Jill will continue to change and grow over time because she is learning the skills to do so. She has shown a willingness to be introspective and question things she was told as truth. Those are the people who change. She has met new people, read new books, had new experiences, and then embraced what she could learn from them. Who knows what that next new thing will be? Maybe one of her neighbors will be queer and that willingness to learn will help her question her own thoughts and views.
If I'd been in the public eye 20 years ago, y'all would be writing hateful things about me. But I've changed. And Jill could too. It starts with introspection, and Jill has shown that.

Not for fundies, or even the conservative Christian church. Flirting is equal to cheating. They don't believe that men and women are capable of friendship. Any relationship with the opposite sex is inherently romantic and possibly sexual.

I was cracking up at Colin continuing to morph into the cool teacher and absolutely lost my shit at the Hamlet rap. That whole storyline was gold. I was slightly disappointed that he didn't sing Wonderwall though.

A lot of people use phobia to mean don't like or scared of. Actual phobias are irrational and debilitating. My old boss once had a panic attack because of a spider on the outside of a window.

Honestly this pizza looks great. The kids pizzas look like they made them themselves which is exactly what I'd expect for homemade pizza night. We make pizza a lot at home as well and it looks very similar. I'd happily eat this.

I do believe she cried. I believe she was hysterical. Not because of love but because she's an emotional manipulator. I have a family member that uses this tactic. It's sobbing and hysteria and how will I live without you and don't leave me. It's not out of love, it's out of control.

My parents bought a house with a pool when I was young. They installed a six foot fence around the pool before we moved in and put a lock on the gate. They also had rescue equipment hanging on the fence (long shepherd crook, life ring with a rope). We weren't allowed to swim without adult supervision and anytime they hosted parties they had a rotation of adults that were specifically on lifeguard duty.
I'm appalled at John and Alyssa's reaction and horrified that they think obedience is enough to keep their children safe. Children are not capable of this kind of risk assessment. I don't know why this is the thing that has shocked me the most about this family, but here we are.
Also, how abusive must their blanket training etc be if they are so confident in their children's obedience and can't even consider that their children might behave contrarily. Absolutely, impress upon your children that something might be dangerous but then take steps to reduce the likelihood of that danger!
I'm so fucking mad right now.

I think she ran out of creamer so tried Greek yogurt and it wasn't good at all. She was making a joke about that as to why she was extra thankful for the coffee gift. I've definitely put ice cream in coffee before in lieu of creamer, so I don't blame her for giving it a shot.

Man, they got me again. Linda's talk with Louise, the end of Louise's report, the song, it all had me tearing up. Not as much as the Christmas episode, but oh the feels! The writers have really hit it out of the park on some of these episodes.
I love when we get to see both Bob and Linda be amazing parents. And helps to make up for how shitty and awful Linda was last week.

See I don't think Bliss really means it anymore. Initially, yes I think she had some reservations. But now it feels like she's just repeating it because that's the storyline producers have given them. She's all in, but the producers are directing her to bring up being second choice so that there's more unsurety going into the weddings. The producers don't want a show where all the couples are happy and excited and ready to get married. They need drama and they'll manufacture it when it isn't there.

They seem to be wanting to punish the masses for the outliers.
Weeks now and there's been no direction as to what the problems were. Is the problem snark? Is it a certain kind of snark? Was the issue posters commenting on the Duggars? Or was it how posters interacted with each other?
This forum traffic has dwindled to an all time low. No one knows what to say because they don't want to contribute to the forum getting slapped down.
Look I'll be blunt, this type of moderation comes off as abusive. It's very, you know what you did wrong and if you do it again there will be consequences. Meanwhile, we have no idea what we did wrong. Was it a few posters? Or all of us? So instead we walk on eggshells in order to not violate these unknown rules.
I've been on unmoderated forums, and it can suck. Moderation is necessary. Moderation without direction is cruel.
