  1. Invisalign actually works surprisingly well for a number of orthodontia problems including overbites, spacing issues, etc. The liners sssllllooowwwwlllyyy move the teeth in the proper direction without all the hardware. I had braces back in the 60s in high school, but over the years there has been some unwanted shifting...I did Smile Direct that moved everything back where it's supposed to be and now wear the retainers a few nights a week...its very easy and not nearly as cumbersome as braces...The process is usually about 6 months, especially for these women.

Back in the early episodes, Andy cooked for him and Opie when Aunt Bee went away. Not particularly well, but they didn't starve.

And at other times they went to the diner...you have to remember Aunt Bee was brought in to take care of Andy & Opie...as her primary job. A little part time gig was fine, but the cooking show was like a 2nd shift job that interfered with her caring for the household. My mom got her drivers license about the same time Aunt Bee did...I was 12, she got it to do her share of the school carpool, I think she was about 37 at the time...my dad was shocked when she decided to get it; his kneejerk reaction was to tell her no...he'd already been carting her around more than 20 years. In 1966 is wasn't unheard of...And Bee gave up the restaurant due to a fortune cookie...they were all ridiculously superstitious.

What does “ramily” mean?  The Rams fans call themselves that.

My guess its "Rams Family" by amalgamation of the two words...not terribly unlike Brangelina

  4. My older sister is a lefty...which led me to be ambidextrous (to a point) because I learned so much from her...my kids' dad was a lefty to the bone! Both kids are seriously ambidextrous...I noticed Georgie sits in the wrong seat at the table...the lefties go on the left end of the table...more than one they sit together on the same side...Sister uses top spiral notebooks...and she has beautiful penmanship.

  5. I think Kelli was ticked that Brennan chose not to take the hint "get well & come back"...by the time TC was held they knew they wouldn't be on the field, so Brennan could have regained her strength...Kelli didn't want to deal with Brennan's recovery...

  6. Mine vary as well...my mom was half German (her mother) and half Norwegian (her father)...my dad was pure Celt (Welsh, Irish/Scot)...turns out that isn't quite accurate. Mine shows significant Scandinavian, some Eastern European (apparently my GGrandmother's family lived in an area of West Prussia that overlapped Poland, which disappeared regularly into Germany or Russia) along with a great amount of British than included all of Wales, Ireland & Scotland as well as England. Our individual DNA picks up traits from the gene soup we come from. My sister's is at least 50% equal to mine,, but we carry many different traits as well. She resembles our Scandinavian roots (tall, blond, sturdy peasant legs), I our Welsh roots...copper blond, green eyes, shorter...National Geographic traced migration patterns through the maternal line, which for me is the southern Sudanese region up through Egypt, across to Italy/Greece and on to Denmark, but that's more 10k years ago

Also, I've been wondering why the young son does not have a Nigerian accent. I know he's been in the US for 8 years, but surely he lived in Nigeria for his first few years and wouldn't necessarily lose the accent after just a few years

He goes to school with American children and spends more time with them than his family. Many of my students are from Central America...the accents vary noticeably. One boy who came from Mexico in October 7th grade speaking no English, finished 8th grade with honors and had tested completely out of the ESL program...less than 2 years and left with just a vague accent yet fluent in both languages. He spoke mostly Spanish with his friends. Do we know if Dele was born in the US or Nigeria?

Watching season 5 on Pluto    Don’t know how Ann Lux made it.     And I wish Paula t had come back in a year or so to try again

Paula would have been killer the next year...I really liked her. I liked Ann Lux. Charlotte had a real problem with her more reserved personality, but her dance was solid, she's 'girl next door' pretty...they can't all be 'girl last night' pretty...

Sorry, I didn't mean to offend. Of course, manners are 100% important but etiquette classes (mostly fine dining) just seem very outdated to me. Considering it seems a very British thing to do, it seems very classist. I've never been anywhere posh enough to require how to know which knife to use or how to nibble on something! It certainly isn't part of a degree programme over here.

The main thing I didn't appreciate was when someone (possibly Amber) asked about what to do if you don't like a meal. Coleen's response was about cutting it up in tiny pieces and moving it around the plate. They could've had a trigger message on for eating disorders for that because that's exactly what I used to do when I was anorexic

The pushing food around your plate is a picky eater classic move...however, I know the relationship between that and anorexia...I'm so sorry you had to deal with it.

The etiquette class are must. Some of these TCC have just rolled in on a turnip truck this morning.  Feisty Taylor-who-hated-her-haircut a few seasons ago comes to mind...KaShara also mentioned she'd never been exposed to formally set tables. Someone else mentioned the food was weird, she wanted chicken, rice & green beans...there's a lot that goes into the higher-society-than-they-are-used-to dining. And really, at this level, if you don't like the meal, shut up and eat some of each thing, you'll live (unless of course there is the possibility of anaphylaxis from allergy)...but you'll notice they don't serve common allergens like nuts and you'd be expected to say "thank you, no, I'm allergic to shellfish".

Ashlinn. In her media interview, when asked about Brett Kavanaugh, she repeatedly said that he was "on the Supreme Court Justice". Personally, I think that's what prompted Kelli to mention her eloquence and fluidity when speaking. It's one thing if she doesn't know who he is, or mixed up him getting fired as a result of the hearings, but in that instance she wasn't even referencing the Supreme Court correctly.

Ah, I didn't notice that when she was speaking, especially since her entire reply was jumbled...should have let die quietly on her own rather than have Rachel W jump in...

    Thanks for clarifying

  11. In media training they should be discussing how many cocktails you should safely have because alcohol is the #1 cause of boot in mouth disasters for these women...They rub shoulders with V-VIPs at various events who could be talking about the Brett Kavanaugh hearings or, more recently Amy Coney Barret...so she should be at least able to follow the conversation topic and be able to fake it better. Not everyone in the room is an old jock. Her dinner partner could very well be the Chief Justice of the Texas Supreme Court. If you expect to be treated world class...own the room and act world class.

In Kat's defense, and much as her mugging drives me nuts sometimes, it's such a bizarre, vague and awkwardly phrased question, who, apart from a programmer or data scientist could provide a cogent answer off-the-cuff?  I'd babble too.

And ... for shits and giggles, can we imagine VK's responses to this or any questions re: politics or 2020 current events? Hilarity. Would. Ensue.

My first thought would be to say "I know its not a hamster on a wheel"

It was really interesting. The process that they went through to identify the victim was long but fascinating. But the thing is, this was more of a genealogy show than a crime show. It was nice to see Yolanda reunite family members, but it would be better to have her work pay off in an arrest.

I loved it...loved it...loved it! It's a painstaking process with very patient, dedicated workers...the attention to detail is so over the top. The first sketch was such a close match to the woman...I didn't see future episodes scheduled...this first episode will be shown again Thursday & Friday...check the Oxygen schedule for your time.

People do realize testicular cancer is very treatable with a high recovery rate?  Olympic swimmer Nathan Adrian is a solid example.  So as much as I'd love to see Marissa gone, I doubt she will retire over this.

Notable men with successful recoveries from testicular cancer include Olympic gold medal figure skater Scott Hamilton, former major league baseball player, now base coach Mike Gallegos (who was treated during the off season in his playing days with no noticeable after effects), and Lance Armstrong...Marissa's man is young & strong...if they've caught it early this will be a small  blip on the screen of his life.
