  1. I feel like there was probably a much easier way to get someone's phone than having sex with them. But... I'm not a hacker so maybe that's just how things are done?

I sort of got the feeling that he enjoyed it. It's a bit of a power trip and he's obviously okay with swinging both ways. Besides, the guy WAS pretty hot.

  2. I don't want any more Louis/Harvey drama. It's all so manufactured and overdone. I'm fine with them teaming up against Jack(ass) but Harvey already knows Louis practically worships him. It would be so easy to keep Louis in check - just throw him a bone every now and then. And Louis, if you don't know what to do, talk to your brilliant and amazing secretary who seems to have all the answers all the time. I much prefer the team up against an outside foe rather than the in-fighting.

  3. The girlfriend "taking back" the cheating boyfriend read as BS to me. Seemed obvious to me she's up to something and was just pretending to take him back to keep him calm and not suspicious. She doesn't want him going to the police so she's keeping him close and compliant until she can figure out her plan. I wonder, though, why her first thought wouldn't be to ask her brilliant hacker best friend for help...

  4. Re: Denys - I think the "outrage" (more staged for dramatic interest than anything else, in my opinion) is still quite valid because while there are many fans here who know him and his work as a ballroom dancer, the average American and/or teenybopper/20-something watching doesn't know him. That's the benefit of SYTYCD - national exposure to people who aren't necessarily up-to-date with the dance world. I recognize the names of these attractive dancers because of SYTYCD - and so do casting agents. So sure, while he may have a promising career in ballroom, he's giving up the opportunity to expand into substantially more than just ballroom: TV, movies, and national pop culture. That's giving up quite a lot of possibility in exchange for another year winning ballroom contests that only ballroom fans are aware of.

  5. I feel like they have bets going in the writers room...

"OK, someone has to work in the word 'apoplectic'."

"Well, shit, that's no problem, I can have Velcoro say something esoteric."

"Oh, you think it's that easy do ya? Fine, then say it twice! In the same conversation. In fact, make Semyon say it too. Good luck."

  6. Right now, I'm going with the theory that all the hacker brigade -- Christian Slater, Hacker Girl and the other folks are Elliot's delusions. Until I see any of them reacting with any real-world people, that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Agree wholeheartedly. Girl's just waiting for him in his apartment? Doubt it. They're all at the abandoned video game place one minute, the next minute it looks all old and dusty, like no one's been there in years. They're all in his head, perhaps different aspects of his personality. He totally threw himself off the railing. Really enjoying the show so far. Love his relationship with the therapist.

  7. It took me a long time to understand what was going on in the first season also and I binge watched (which, you'd think, would make it easier). It helped to read the boards. I'm sure I would've been even more lost had I not experienced the "oooohhhhh" moments I got from reading the comments. I expect this will be the same. It all starts out sort of abstract and convoluted, but it begins to come together in a more comprehensible way somewhere in the middle...then I have to determine if I want to watch it all over again now that I've "gotten it" or if I just want to continue with the ride and process it as it comes.

  8. Someone told me that True Detective is based on a true stories... so I googled and found an article that talked about the Louisiana crime case season 1 was based on and it made mention that the season 2 story is going to be about

"hard women, bad men and the secret occult history of the United States transportation system."

  9. I actually saw way more potential in this episode than I did in the pilot. I loved the exchange between Strasmore and his 'boss'; paraphrasing here:

"Would it be okay if I take you into my mouth?"

    "The whole thing?"
    "The whole thing."

I want more of that. I also think Dule Hill is great. He makes the whole scene perk up when he arrives. More of that, too, please.

I'm hoping they're realizing what works best and what doesn't and will continue adjusting until it works. Hopefully it won't be too late.

  10. I know the story is about Wayward Pines - but I want more story about the world outside of WP. I wonder how far or long he's traveled to see what's become of the planet... he's so sure humans are extinct, but I feel like there's a pretty good chance that some small clusters of resilient humans made it through and continued to procreate. Or someone else out of the billions of humans between 1999 and 2095 figured out cryostasis too...

Or maybe the abbies are just what humankind evolved into and why did he feel the need to travel to the future when he could have just been a tick in the line of evolution? Why does he even have to "fix" anything? We evolve, that's what we do. Why is he trying to overcome that?

Eh. I'm still watching. I'll see it through 'til the end. But is kind of eye-rollingly silly.

  11. His panic attacks have nothing to do with his "secretary" leaving. As Nanrad said, he's in love with her and he's never had to deal with these emotions. Her "leaving" him is not at all about her job skills but more along the lines of terminating a relationship. She's distancing herself from him so she won't get hurt - but, in doing so, she's forcing him to deal with emotions he's obviously not ready to handle. THAT'S what's causing the panic attacks. It's like a marriage breaking up -- even if the wife is only moving next door.

  12. When Liv confessed to Major, I began chanting, "Please let it be real. Please let it be real." I didn't hone in on crazy-brain being the reason for the hallucination but I just knew it couldn't be that easy. And, like everyone else, Frost was a complete surprise to me.

  13. I appear to be in the minority, but I love the crap out of Major and I do wish he and Liv could be together. I know it seems like he's boring because he's "the perfect man" but I can't help myself, he is. He's hot and smart and funny and hot. And, apparently, very determined. I know it can't happen right away because then what - but I do hope there's a possibility of a future there and they don't kill him off to make Liv's journey more dramatic.

  14. "I would like to suggest Under the Dome for the next Sarah/Poe Head collaboration as it would be a great source of stupidity for them to dissect."

We could never take it away from Tara! (Plus I simply cannot with that show. But I may detail him to Finding Carter.)

I would suggest Wayward Pines. It's only fair. They advertised it three times for every one Sprint commercial during The Following. Besides, I think Poe could could get into that.

  15. I've completely lost track of Theo's storyline. Why does he need Eliza? How did she get involved? He's a super computer guru, why can't he just give himself a billion dollars and disappear in a non-extradition country? I'm so... just what?

  16. She was hung by her arms for an unknown but obviously uncomfortable length of time. She was exhausted, terrified and dehydrated and she gulped down what was apparently drugged water. Whatever was in the water made her calm, pliant, docile and easily manipulated. Plus, she appeared to be in shock. I loved her Barbie face when Jim walked in. But I in no way saw her as happy about the situation and I certainly do not think her complacency was an active choice.  No clue where they will go with her from here.
