I assure you not one person involved with that squad knows enough about current events to pick this up — which is the entire point and problem.

The irony is that the same persons got upset when Lil’ Taylor Tauss didn’t know what ‘Me too’ was!

True ignorance is not the lack of knowledge, but the unwillingness to acquire it!

  2. About the undeniable weak formation:

Now I know why Jalyn Stough did not make 'Show Group: she would have made the point girls look ridiculous. The same reason they put Gina Marie Ligi so much in the back.

Do you think that the point girls would have made the point if all the dancers of their rookie years would have stayed on: NEVER IN A MILLION YEARS, 100% NO!

And that's called mismanagement: having great dancers move on at the detriment of the squad and the organisation!

    According to Wikipedia:

The Beastie Boys have sold 26 million records in the United States and 50 million records worldwide, making them the biggest-selling rap group since Billboard began recording sales in 1991.[3] With seven platinum-selling albums from 1986 to 2004,[4]the Beastie Boys were one of the longest-lived hip hop acts worldwide. In 2012, they became the third rap group to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Hardly what I would call a novelty act. 🙄🙄🙄

The Beasties Boys started rapping (please notice the verb rapping is not hip hopping) but their music branches far beyond the 808 drum machine of the day, culminating into Paul’s Boutique.

I do not see The Beastie Boys appropriating Hip Hop.

I guess what Maddie did in the Finals is her own version of some dance she saw somewhere. Others made it into appropriation, I don’t thinks she even knows.

Hence why Kat is being shown so much on the show this year! And Victoria last year. Love them or hate them, they appear a little more natural and have personality on camera. Some of the others girls are sweet but my god... Let's just say I could not watch more of Madeline S with no expression in her face talk anymore..

    I completely agree.

Kat is what the squad needs.

The squad does not need another non-threatening dancer! The squad needs someone inspiring.

Has Kitty ever been a judge or just technical coach?

Kitty was there during the SG auditioms

    Wow!  That's a first.

Just a coach - she teaches too many of the girls.

She is also a judge for the SG auditions

Here are two pics of Amanda when she was on Face Off.  I think there's a Face Off forum with some photos of her, too.

I actually think she's beautiful. I like her wide eyes and the fact that she's not just a cookie-cutter blonde.

    amadadilksfo1.jpg

Amanda is so gorgeous. A 50 yard line girl.

She gives me a distinct Russian vibe. Must be from her mothers side, but on the other hand, her dad also looks Russian.

Anyhow, she is a valuable addition to the team with already so much glam, she glammifies everything in her path. If you see how much more a DCC develops during her tenure, I cannot imagine Amanda's growth!

This crop of new DCC's is just what the squad needed! Kelcey, Kat, Amanda, Kristen: four exponents of the so much needed wow factor.

Yes!  I don’t understand what has aged her face so much since then.

I think (know) that it is her body fat. Her BMI is too low, so the shape of her face disappears. Lily has in essence very nice features but these get lost when she loses pounds. The same happens to Daphne. I hope they eat a sandwich and start looking their old glam self.

Kelli’s beloved grandmother said it herself: 10 pounds makes you look 5 years younger.

Can I just say, in the final days of anticipation for the squad to be finalized, that I am truly grateful to have come across this board?

Because by day I’m actually a very successful and fully functioning adult, and by night (for years) I have binge-watched the show and obsessed over this team to no end, and it’s absolutely fantastic to have found a group of other people who do, too! ❤️

    Me too! Same here!

This might go to stamina....this is teaching the kickline before showing it to the judges...by the time the judges see it there is the 8-8 count routine then the kickline....Kat brings it here, but an hour later after practicing then performing, she was out of kicking steam to get them up....

I agree with your point. Stamina was the issue later on.

Not that TCC Kat Puryear doesn’t have the flexibility, like TCC Taylor “I’m Barbie not Gumby”, or DCC Mackenzie Weeks, whom I intensely liked.

I am same kind of folk then because I agree with you on Hannah. She is on the other hand, one of the better dancers.

I think some of this is just a matter of perspective. Personally, I don't dislike Maddie. I just don't see her as point material. I also don't see why social media followers should have anything to do with who is point. In fact, if K&J took that into account, I think that's rather pathetic.

Now, if people think Maddie is the best dancer on the team, I disagree, but I can understand that. Different strokes! But the fact that the arguments for Maddie seem focus on things other than her dance ability (she's nice, she's different, she's a role model, she's relatable because she's not DCC glam, she has lots of fans), kind of supports the post from someone earlier that she seems to be graded on a curve. Now, I think all of those characteristics are great. The DCCs need nice, humble cheerleaders to even out some of the bigger egos, but I don't see what it has to do with her spot in the formation.

Your logic is very sound and I agree 100%.

Does this mean Shelly no longer works for the DCC? 😲

    PhotoEditor_20190811_011323328_compress21.jpg

Good for Shelly that she has moved on, too bad for the DCC organisation to lose such a valuable resource.

She was always a great item on the show and I personally will miss her. Also, compared to the current squad girls, she out-glammed (is that a word?) them by a mile. Her face should be blown up to the size of the wall, because she has it all. All DCC’s should be like her: great team mates and photogenic, not like Brennan or Daphne!

Dare I say that in this group shot, VK looks lovely?  Both her hair and her smile are calm, under control, and she pretty much looks nothing like she normally does at all.

    I agree.

I noticed Jerry Jones’ granddaughter Haley in the front. She probably has a lot of these nice perks!

Glaring favorite, of course.  But I honestly don't think it would be enough to knock someone out of semis if the rest of their dancing was strong.  That said, I immediately thought of the veteran who had a cheering background and cut her trick short on finals so she didn't kick someone in the audience.  They cut her because of that and weight.  It was a trick and not a turn, but their reactions were really harsh and not understanding at all about her falling out.  That is honestly who I thought of, the girls who get NO forgiveness. smh.

I agree with what you are saying and your choice of words is very interesting.

“The favoritism is glaring” sentence from @Lily80 has not the same meaning as “Glaring favorite”.

The emphasis is on the favoritism shown towards a candidate which is more than obvious (glaring), not that a candidate is showing (glaring) that it is a favorite.

It is certainly a small semantic difference but Victoria has not shown anything to be a glaring favorite, she has it without having done anything to merit it, hence the very apt phrased ‘the favoritism is glaring’.

The favorism is glaring and it is staring everybody right in the face and we, the people, are struck by it. Some more than others.

I just see big issues coming up with Victoria on the field. Tina’s baby or not, it will be unworkable for K&J to have her mess up routines all the time. The glaring favoritism will eventually succumb to self preservation!

Given that the DCFC seems to have institutional norms that prevent its people from addressing gay topics, it seems wrong that the show airs on a network that celebrates being out and proud.

I don’t want to get overly political here.  I am not trying to incite any debate.  I am just curious if anyone else finds this strange and may be similarly conflicted.

There is one thing to have an alumni dcc trainer advicing on the best course of action to achieve a goal, and there are institutional norms.

Also, if there were institutional norms, there would not be any gay men on the show.

IMHO there is no conflict to air MTT on a certain network. The only conflict that I see is that the projected advertisement revenue falls below the actual revenue (it is a TV show).

.... She should be a better interviewee, as she's very practiced by now. Serious props to her, though, when she chided the dude and told him with a smile that they do have post offices in small-town Utah! That was gold. But back to her underwhelming interview performances: Not only did she barely blink, she gave lame responses that weren't very insightful or engaging. She kept saying "yes sir," which was weird and I feel like she missed every chance they gave her to contribute in some positive way. Her "narrative" of her journey to be a DCC was pretty uninspiring and dull and gave no real insight into the process or her status as a vet. And when she was asked directly about DCC travel and the anchor hinted he wanted to hear about international trips, she just said, yeah, it's great to jet set and then didn't name a single place they've ever gone. Weak. She could have mentioned USO tours (hello, one of Kelli's favorite things to promote), calendar, London, or even just Oxnard. Heather would not have missed on softball interview questions/leads like that.

To which interview are you referring to?

    Do you have a link?

Wait Jenn had tummy chub? How did I never notice that given she thinks she's perfect or thats how she comes across to me...

Jenn came across to the unsuspected viewer as someone who wanted everybody else to think she was perfect.

This is ofcourse, in stark contrast of other DCC’s who actually were perfect, like Melissa Wallace, Jaci Scott, Amy Trader, Megan Carcioppolo and ofcourse the GOAT Nicole Hamilton.

Personally I thought that Danielle Barhold and Nicole Bulcher were perfect, but this is my opinion, just like the opinion of Jenn, that she thinks that she is perfect.

Yes.  That pic of her in the swimsuit magazine with longer hair and more volume is my fave.

The problem with interviews anymore is that the hosts don't realize that they must do their homework first.

Good choice of Maddie with the longer hair, it forces the curls down and elongates her baby cute, almost Shirley Temple like face.

Valder Beebe, the host and visionary of the interview...Huh? Host and visionary? Visionary of not knowing diddly-squat about what your are talking about?

What an incompetent and disinterested interviewer, what an amazing array of superfluous and obvious statements and questions.

Kudos to Kelli that she keeps on smiling while undergoing this type of stupidity.

She looks fantastic here.... reminds me of the super sexy DCC from the 90s and early 00s. There was just something about that generation of cheerleaders... they were sultry without trying too hard. This pic ofAlanna really reminds me of that for some reason.

Comparing this pic of Alanna to the ones in the Star magazine - they are turning her into Lacey.

I don’t see anything wrong with being the next Lacey.

Now I see the transformation, I am a believer. It starts real slow, like a whisper and then it gets louder and louder, until it is a big roar: Alanna for point!

She looks like a Charlie’s Angel, and I am not talking about the newer installments. Those are substandard. Really. No, I am talking Farrah Fawcett, Jaclyn Smith-glamour level.
