As someone who backpacks, my pack is bigger then the ones that they are using on the race. I am carrying water, food, part of a tent, clothes, and the like. My pack normally comes in at 30 pounds. I would guess that their packs are lighter then that since they are not carrying water bladders (which are heavy), tent, sleeping bags, and the like. the more athletic clothing most of the teams wear is pretty light weight.

On the Holderness podcast this week, Kim said her pack weighed about 9 pounds. They said the packs weren’t a problem on the stairs. The main issue was how sweaty they were so it was hard to hold the bottles.

The same reason they were wallpapering the graffiti art willy-nilly.  They are dumb.

Also, if you truly are not sure which of two ways to do something is correct, and you see the other team doing it one way, copy them! That way, if it’s wrong, you both have to start over.

Same here and I don’t do Paramount +

    I am in pain here

I signed up for the 7 day free trial, watched and then cancelled. Hope the issue is resolved by next week.

Due to a dispute between Verizon and another carrier, the Amazing Race (along with other CBS shows) won't be shown in DC or Buffalo. Grrrrr.

I am soooo upset! I’m in the DC area and just realized I can’t watch it. I have been waiting all day for this!  I’ll have to watch once they post the episodes on line. Arghhhh!!!

  5. The other thing I hated about the twist was Jeff making it seem like those who sat out did so because they felt safe and didn’t need immunity. In reality, the two who sat out recognized they were the most likely to be first out based on previous performance and since they probably didn’t have a good chance of winning immunity, why risk being subject to some stupid twist?

  6. What would have happened if only one person opted to do the immunity challenge? Would that person just have automatically had to do the do or die? That’s some bull#%%. Enough with the stupid twists, Jeff!

So the notes were desperate pleas from Tim Kono to Jan not to break off their tryst?

No. Jan wrote them and gave them to him in the bag. To make it look like suicide. Charles figured out she was the killer by matching the handwriting on the notes to the note she sent him asking him to dinner.

OMG I was watching the new mystery on my cable company's computer interface rather than on the TV, and it cut out right at the key part at the end!  I switched over to the TV as fast as I could, but I know I missed some stuff.  I heard Andy tell Melanie something about Mr Birch killed Tony...why?  And then who killed Birch?  What did Andy try to frame that kid for doing?  Did Andy do anything else wrong besides try to frame the kid? Was Tony the one running the drugs through the service shop, and where did Tony get all that cash?  Aaarrrggghhh!

Mr Birch killed Tony because he discovered that Andy and Mr Birch were laundering drug money through the car shop and the Twila center. He threatened to tell the police if they didn’t stop. But then Tony took the money for his wife. The drug gang killed Mr Birch. Maybe because they didn’t get their money?  That wasn’t really explained. Andy found the body and was worried it would trace back to the shop, so he tried to implicate Ryan. He was arrested for drug running/money laundering.

  9. I’m wondering if the story of how Higgins met his wife is how the actors actually met. They are married in real life. And the actor who plays Higgins does really play upright bass.

  10. Anyone watch this yet?  On Apple TV +. Really well done, beautiful movie that had me laughing, crying, and quite moved.

I love 'Shakespeare and Hathaway', but I just had to turn off an episode from the 3rd/newest season called 'Oh, Thou Invisible Spirt of Wine'. One of the characters was (I think) an Deaf woman who was an obnoxious 'ghost hunter'. She could speak (ie, she wasn't mute), and was very animated, but between her deafness-affected speech and her English accent, I couldn't figure out WTH she was saying. CC didn't help either. I think this was a nice gesture by whoever agreed to this casting, but at least for this viewer it made the episode unwatchable. JMO.

She’s not deaf. She’s a British comedian who has cerebral palsy. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rosie_Jones_(comedian)

I thought the Mystery 101 was pretty good.  It was weird with that IT guy being a killer, basically tacked on at the end.  And why would Amy, a professor, have been tasked with hiring a new dean of students...and apparently have been the only one to make the actual final hiring decision?

You missed a few other things in the 1st 18 minutes that answer some of these questions. The original head of the hiring committee was in a skiing accident so the university president asked Amy to take over. There was also a scene at an alumni gathering where Tabby and Joe were together and clearly in love.

  13. I liked the new Aurora Teagarden, particularly how the whole club was working together. Good chemistry there. But like all these Hallmark movies, they leave plot holes open. Why did the contractor lie about his alibi and why did he recognize the couple in the photo?  Did the son in law have a consulting business and if so, why no website? And what was he saying on the phone about the father in law finding something out?

  14. I keep giving this show chances because I really do want to like it. I think some of the characters are getting fleshed out and that is good. But I still have two major problems. First is Max. He has no fleshed out personality. Who is he? Why is Kat so into him?  They are telling us but not showing us and the result is a boring character with no chemistry with Kat. Second is the mom. I can’t help it but Swoozie Kurtz takes me right out of any scene because I can’t get over how awful she looks. She looks like a breeze would knock her over, and all the work she has had done on her face just looks frightening.

The single mom from Zion, IL had quite the Midwestern accent. Her daughter seemed like a great kid and I loved their realtor - she really did seem like she cared about her clients.

This was such a refreshing episode. No ridiculous wants. Just a realistic home buyer. I was particularly happy that there were no complaints about the kitchens not being all white!
