  1. They are going to go the Nathan/Faith route aren't they?  And keep Fiona with Hickam. What a waste.

For a second there, I thought they were going to full-Hallmark-villain with Nathan when he told Lucas that Elizabeth said she loved him.  But then he quickly followed it up with "but not in love with me."  Making Nathan a villain would be a far more interesting turn than this show is capable of.

  2. Why would anyone want to work for Bethenny?  Who hates themselves that much?  I wonder if there is anyone that Bethenny truly respects or at least treats with respect on a regular basis.  I hope the winner says "thanks, but no thanks."

I think she will keep Nicole for the sake of drama and to have a sparing partner.

I don't see how any of these people are qualified to be her VP of Operations.  As others have mentioned, it seems like she's actually looking for a social media manager.

  3. Up until last night, I was 99% sure Elizabeth would ultimately pick Nathan.  I've changed my mind. I think she will pick Lucas now. I can't even really explain why.  Just a feeling.  But kudos to the show for actually pulling off a little suspense.

They do seem to be setting up Fiona as a viable love interest for someone next season.  Please don't saddle her with Hickam.

I hope the Carson/Faith breakup sticks.  Although did they ever have a conversation that they were ending things, or are both just assuming they are done?

As others have mentioned, I was confused by the Canfields suddenly moving to the row houses after it seemed like they just bought that cabin.

    No Ally last night.  Yay!

  4. Why do they keep floating the idea of Fiona and Hickam?  (I know it's probably because he is Erin's real-life boyfriend and Erin is a producer so she has some influence.)  But it's such a waste of Fiona.

I agree that Elizabeth is not very likeable this season.  That tends to be the case when shows insist on going the love triangle route.  The woman in the middle always ends up looking fickle and self-absorbed.  But all I can think watching this play out is that both guys could do better.

@norcalgal - I believe there are 3 episodes left this season.  I feel like a renewal is inevitable.  The ratings have been good, and I don't see Hallmark wanting to face the wrath of the Hearties right now.

  5. In the end, Allie is going to get exactly what she wants and face zero consequences for her bratty behavior, isn’t she?

Early in the episode, Nathan told Elizabeth “you don’t know me at all.”  Ain’t that the truth and I’m not even talking about the Jack reveal. These two never talk about anything other than Allie. There is no basis for this relationship but somehow we’re supposed to believe it’s true love.

  6. The worst thing about Elizabeth probably ending up with Nathan is that it will mean more Ally.  I feel slightly bad criticizing the young actors, but she gets on my nerves.

I was leaning more towards Team Lucas the last two seasons, but the Lucas/Elizabeth scenes have been painful to watch this season.  I don't know if it's the writing or the acting or both.  But I just find myself cringing more often than not when they are on screen.  I agree with Brighteyes in the above post that both Chris McNally and Kevin McGarry seem like good guys in real life.  Both guys and Erin were on the Deck the Hallmark podcast in the last month or so (in separate interviews), and it's a shame that we don't get to see more of their personalities shine though on the show.

The highlight of this week's episode was Rosemary working as the telephone operator.   I just don't care about Ned and Florence.  Like others have said, that relationship seemed to come out of left field this season.   I wish Jesse and Clara would leave town to work on their issues.

I would like to see Nathan and Fiona together. I think they could balance each other out and the relationship between Fiona and Allie would be interesting to watch. I could see conflict if Nathan feels like Fiona is too modern for Allie in some ways.

Nathan and Fiona are a couple in real-life, so I would be very curious to see if they have any on-screen chemistry.

As for this week's episode, this show has way too many characters and way too many plot lines.   And of course, the one character that they sit out multiple episodes is the most interesting - Fiona.

  8. I liked Chasing Waterfalls more than I expected.  Mostly because the scenery was beautiful.  I know Hallmark movies are essentially all the same, but the plot of this one seemed very similar to Pearl in Paradise.  The misunderstanding in both movies was one half of the leading couple thinking the other person revealed the location of a mythical pearl/waterfall.  The line at the end about the tent "having room for two" was more suggestive than Hallmark usually gets, so points for one thing that was slightly different.

  9. Derick NOT being a young Earth creationist might be the most shocking thing yet I've heard from these two.  I thought for sure he would follow that line of thinking.  But then again, I never expected Jill and Derick to be living the most secular life out of all the Duggars. I thought they were among the biggest Kool-Aid drinkers of them all.

If Hallmark decides to another another murder mystery series, I hope they consider a series with Kimberly Sustad and Paul Campbell. They are one of my favorite Hallmark duos and I could see them in a wise-cracking, witty, His Girl Friday type of murder mystery movie.

I second this!  It's a tossup whether Kimberly Sustad & Paul Campbell or Jill Wagner & Kris Polaha are my favorite pairing on Hallmark.   I like these pairings so much that I prefer not to see them paired with anybody else.  I think that was my main problem with Jill Wagner's Christmas movie in 2020.  Her chemistry with anyone other than Polaha just doesn't compare.

I really enjoyed the new Mystery 101.  The chemistry between the leads is strong enough that I can hand wave all the implausible plot points.  I figured the IT guy was shady when he took off with her laptop.  I'm glad to hear they are filming another one soon.

  11. I take it there is more to the story with Nathan and Jack. And somehow that will be the catalyst for Elizabeth ultimately choosing Nathan.  Poor Lucas.

I like the Canfields. The little boy is adorable.

I know that Lee’s sister is supposed to bland. But Hallmark goes out of their way to find the most painfully bland actors to play painfully bland characters.

Why does Paul Greene not get more airtime? He has said about 5 lines all season.  And why is he saddled with Faith?

I watched It Was Always You last night and wondered why Erin Krakow’s hair looked like a mop. So distracting.  When she came back from traveling at the end of the movie her hair was chic and beautiful.  Could her character not find a good hair stylist in the States?  She certainly could have afforded one.  There was nothing in the plot line to account for that aggregious wig.

I struggled to get past Erin Krakow's hair too.  I still can't decide if it's a wig or her real hair.  I'm leaning towards it being real since she's still sporting something similar on social media.   I saw some preview pictures for Italia Ricci's Spring Fling movie, and her hair looks terrible in that one too.  I don't know what Hallmark's stylists are thinking.

As for It Was Always You, it was okay.  The movie was hyped a lot, but it was really nothing new.   Tyler Hynes has quickly become one of my favorite Hallmark leading men, so I'll probably continue to sit through whatever he's in.

  13. I was worried when Elizabeth said at the beginning that Lee & Rosemary weren't expected back for weeks.  I thought maybe some of the actors were sitting out a few episodes for Covid or something, so I was glad when they showed up early on.  But then they were saddled with Jesse & Clara the whole episode, who bore me to no end.

I don't know why Jack Wagner is still on this show.

I will be shocked if Elizabeth doesn't ultimately choose Nathan.  My ideal outcome for this triangle is for Lucas & Nathan to choose each other.

I do enjoy Fiona.  I hope she is featured more this season.

  14. Do these women actually live in the houses they film in?  I'm mainly talking about Meredith's house but none of them seem all that "lived in."  Except for Mary's giant closet of a home.

I'm not crazy about this show, but it's been something to watch when pickings are slim.  I will continue to watch just to see if we find out why Mary has a home in Carmel, Indiana.

Christmas at Starlight was fantastic. It was hilarious and Paul And Kimberly shined yet again. It’s obvious they enjoy working together with their easy chemistry and playful banter. Definitely a rewatch in the future, once I go through the volume of movies that are left to watch. Thank goodness for you guys so I can delete the bad ones!

I really enjoyed Christmas by Starlight too.   Even with the usual Christmas tropes, it worked because Kimberley Sustad & Paul Campbell have genuine chemistry.  The chemistry between the leads is almost always what makes or breaks these Hallmark movies for me.   I also like that Kimberley is a different kind of leading actress for these movies.  She's more relatable to me with her low-key, sarcastic personality than say the uber-cheerful Candace Cameron Bure.   I hope Paul & Kimberley continue to work together and write more movies.

I also enjoyed Five Star Christmas.  No specific comments other than I enjoy seeing Victor Webster.

  16. I also was wondering if Trading Christmas was going to air this year.  I appreciate the info that it's available on the app, but I wish they would just air it on TV.   It's my favorite Hallmark Christmas movie.  The quality of the Hallmark movies has sure gone down since it originally aired.

As for this weekend's movies, I only watched Christmas House and The Angel Tree.  I liked Christmas House, although I thought the reconciliation between Treat Williams & Sharon Lawrence's characters felt very rushed even for Hallmark.  As much as I like Jill Wagner, the Angel Tree didn't hold my attention at all.  I was looking at my phone through most of it.

I'm cautiously optimistic for Christmas by Starlight since Paul Campbell & Kimberley Sustad wrote it.  But I'm sure they were still constrained by Hallmark guidelines so I probably need to keep those expectations in check.

The medical shows are doing a good job with the Covid stories, but it’s still depressing as hell and makes me depressed. On top of that we were just told here in Chicago we need to stay at home again for 30 days.

Still like Owen and hate Teddy but I was really surprised by the end which reminded me of the George Clooney surprise on ER, although a different storyline of course.

I also was reminded of Doug and Carol’s reunion on ER. Still One of my favorite moments of TV because it was a surprise to see Clooney.

I was totally shocked it was actually Patrick Dempsey. I thought he would never appear on this show again. For a few seconds, all seemed right with the world.

I hope they let Amelia and Link just be happy.

  18. This girl is a shapeshifter.  In some pics, she looks like Jana.  In some pics, she looks 30.  In some pics, she looks exactly her age.

All I know about Justin is that he looks the least Duggarish, IMO.  And I forget he exists until he appears on screen.  I do wonder what prompted this particular match instead of pairing her with one of the older boys.

  19. The only positive thing about this episode was that Ivy appears to be "anti-bow."  She was trying to take her own bow off and the bows off the others babies' heads.  When she's acting as mom for her future siblings, maybe she won't slap bows on their heads.   Personally, I don't think bows make babies look cuter.  They're distracting and look like they would annoy the baby.

  20. I have paid very little attention to this season.  I saw on Twitter that Dani and Cody have been flirting. Are there clips of this?  I haven't noticed it on the episodes, and I don't subscribe to the feeds.  They both looked a little guilty (and pissed) when Kaysar said that.

When HOH came down to Day and Christmas, I really didn't get my hopes up much that Day would win.  2020 gives us nothing good, and this season of BB is no exception.
