Mike Richards was probably low on my list of people they could’ve picked….as long as he doesn’t end each episode with the “make the world a kinder place” spiel I guess I’m fine.

My thoughts exactly.  I'm so tired of being lectured.

Amazing how the season where Social Justice pandering was shoved down our throats every week ends up with a dude who abuses women and cheats on his pregnant wife as the winner. And Bravo basically admits that they didn’t address it or change the finale due to inconvenience and cost. So ignore all the holier than thou bullshit they pushed this season, and realize that they will place profit over principles when it comes down to it.

Now Padma is speaking out, a little late if you ask me. The news about Gabe was out there months ago, and was completely ignored by Bravo.

This season was dull, condescending, and full of hypocrisy. Top Chef , and Padma and Tom in particular, should be ashamed.

I couldn't agree more regarding the irony. Oh, how The Woke do stumble ... all over themselves.

Now can we stop with the hypocritical lecturing and make it about the food next season, maybe?

I disagree.  I'd like to know who she slept with to get this gig.  She really isn't very good.

Right? It's almost like Padma just got the job because of her looks or something.

The anti-Blackness is really jumping out in some of these comments about Dawn and Kwame.

So ... are we only allowed to criticize certain people and not others?

It actually doesn’t matter if they thought her dish eat well without it. In fact the only thing we heard was Nina suggesting a biscuit would have been amazing.  They all devoured her dish to the point that they literally didn’t give a shit about their clothes. I mean yes, they we’re probably TC clothes but they still kept digging into her dish. But there is a wide shot of them devouring the crab and Brooke has it all of her hands, Nina is dabbing it off Padma’s face and everyone suggests there is still is some on Tom’s nose before Gail takes out her napkin and they are suggesting it’s amazing.

No, some context is needed, please - I was responding to the poster who lauded Dawn for her honesty about the missing element. Wrong. She didn't "admit" to it. The producers in all likelihood ratted her out and she had no choice but to address the omission.  She's pretty good at it by now.

Fried potatoes were not a requirement, and she didn’t even have to tell the judges she intended to serve them.

Ummm ... pretty sure the producers let the judges know that she screwed up. Again.

I don't think anyone is a "True Top Chef" who misses components on their meal in 5 separate episodes, including last week where they clearly should have gone home.

Dawn's food is amazing but ... if she wins, this show has lost ALL credibility.

This might just be me thinking this way but if I was in the Dog Lady’s shoes (or is it paws?) I’d serve my sentence, give my children space in terms of accepting me back in their lives (or not) and go away quietly far away to another part of the country where no one would know me and essentially make a fresh start.

Right? If for no other reason but to escape the moniker "Dog Lady".

  9. Ugh. This episode was painful.

I've never understood the Cult of Brooke. And all the fake tears at Judge's Table was positively cringe-producing.

OK ... only one more annoying-as-f*** contestant to go. Please get Jamie off my TV screen.

  10. Yep, Mayim lost me for good tonight with her insulting comment to the contestant about the Aerosmith song. I'm frankly surprised the editors and producer let that one stay.

I'm also ready for our poker-faced champ to go away.

  11. So sad to see a woman get involved with such a despicable creep. His smug face is just so freaking punchable. And WTF is wrong with that neighbor who just ignored the screams for help?!? Shame on her.

  12. Did anyone else find this episode BEYOND irritating? What a bunch of loon-bags! Those parents were so smug and pretentious in every way, so no surprise their kid would turn out to be bat sh*t.

Is this town just populated with disheveled artsy types but no hair salons? I'm guessing that (also irritating) playwright from NYC felt right at home.

The kooky mom in the police interview with her dumpy clothes and her self-pitying braying was kinda funny. What a pathetic performance!

The poor realtor was the only sympathetic character in the whole mess.  (And doesn't her presence beg the question- why would you gun someone down in front of an impartial witness? Oh wait ... cray-cray + stupid on steroids, that's why.)

Even Keith, who I normally love, was grating.  His heavy dramatic narrative made the whole episode even more  insufferable.  (A dose of Josh's smartass cynicism and "WTF?" cocked eyebrow would have been welcome.)

It was hard to get through this one.

Thanks for bringing that up, it got under my skin too that it's somehow OK for a non-white person to refer to someone white by their ethnicity in such a manner, but if the shoe were on the other foot and Gabriel called someone an "Asian boy" or even worse "Black Boy" there would be a hue and cry about it being a prejudicial and condescending comment and everyone would be calling Gabriel a dick for it.  I am Italian American so that got under my skin because despite our PC culture these days it still seems to be OK to make such comments about Italian Americans in public without anyone objecting.

Thank you for saying this! Especially in light of the "too white" comment a couple of weeks ago.
