I always thought this video was pretty weird.

It's not better than the original (one of my all time favorite songs) but Dawes does an excellent job with their version of Warren Zevon's "Desperados Under The Eaves". From their appearance on Letterman:

Here's Strummer and Johnny Cash.Bob Marley owns Redemption Song, but I love how Joe Strummer did it, too. It's a draw, I could listen to either one just about forever.

"Remember back when everything froze?"
Yeah, that was about a week ago.

I like it. Kind of an homage to St. Elsewhere.I can see it now - the final episode - Indy is running through the forest - maybe because butterflies were swarming, maybe because the dome finally came down, maybe because there is a tidal wave on Lake Acid, maybe because he sees a rabbit or a pig, maybe because Big Jim is chasing him, maybe becasue he is in a marathon - whatever, Indy is running his fastest through the forest. The camera cuts to the twitching legs of a dog sleeping on a dog bed. Turns out that everything that happened was just a dog dream. Then the camera pans back a little further and we see that the sleeping dog is wearing one of those cones. And suddenly, everything makes sense.

Ani's flashback:Honestly, Flashback Guy didn't remind me of Bob at all.
Bob, as I recall, was a bit thinner, gaunt even, and his hair was more grey. Also, I don't recall Bob with much of a beard and mustache, or if there was, it was just stubble.

--and more! I never did get through all of Castenada's books, try though I did as a good hippy, and I cannot get through all of that page, but did note:
Something I just happened to come across that probably isn't related but might possibly be an influence, is this picture from an album cover photo shoot with the band KISS.Oh, and the Yaqui Indians, the tribe the fictional or maybe-not-fictional Don Juan belonged to? Yeah, they wore lots of animal masks.

I have more of a problem buying that the dude who was shot in the gut and just sitting around a jail cell for hours, then straight to a bunker survived than I do buying the youth staged some sort of a coup later.
Maybe gunshot wounds sometimes magically go away after a day or two like on "Under The Dome." ;)

Or maybe if Jim hadn't killed Dr. Frank Whaley they would have a better chance of getting the cure and the way out of the dome.Didn't that Aktion scientist tell Big Jim they had a cure for the lifeforce parasite? Shouldn't Jim and Julia be searching that lab for it? Or for the place where all those Aktion guys got themselves and their equipment into the Dome? Don't get me wrong - I'm all for them finding the dog first. But they didn't even mention the cure.

Wayward - difficult to control or predict because of unusual or perverse behavior.
I thought there was already a town called Wayward Pines before Pilcher built his version. Didn't the clerk at the convenience store give Theresa directions to Wayward Pines? You'd think evil genius Pilcher would have some self-awareness about things, since he did name the town. Presumably.

If Pilcher did the same thing to Group A where were the Abbies during the flashback where we saw him walking around the town by himself with all the destruction, dead bodies, etc.?From Pilcher's conversation with Pam, my understanding is that what happened to Group A is what was happening to these guys. He set the abbies loose on them. In that case, why didn't hypnoteacher know that Pilcher wasn't going to save them? Why didn't she get the fuck to the inside of the mountain because she knew what was coming?
-
Do they expect these people to be cool with living in a town run by a bunch of teenagers?Amy said all the adults were frozen. I take that to mean all the people in WP at the end are new. Group C. They don't know anything about what is outside.
Group B people are either dead (from the HY revolution) or refrozen.

When was the entire facility built and who built it?

If all elevators are so flimsy manimals can just punch through the floor, I'm never riding in one again.
Yeah, I'm wondering how that cardboard floor could support the weight of all those people.

As the Abbies start punching holes in the bottom of the elevator car (since when are the floors of elevators made of really cheap materials -- it should be solid steel ?)
That's what I was thinking. It looked like the floor of that elevator was made out of cardboard.

Some of those high school kids are suddenly doctors now?
Did the Abbies have tracking devices on them?

They say goldfish have no memorySupposedly, the short term memory of goldfish is even worse than mine was as a daily wake-and-bake college student back in the day. That little castle in the corner is a surprise to them every time around the tank. So it is with the UTD writing staff.
I guess their lives are much like mine
And the little plastic castle
Is a surprise every time
And it's hard to say if they're happy
But they don't seem much to mind

They've got an oil derrick and a refinery in the mountain. Clearly.
Staffed by volunteers who are working in the oil refinery because they believe so strongly in Pilcher's genius plan to save humanity.

One thing I completely missed until I saw it in Tara's recap -- you know that Aktaeon has to be a really evil corporation if they make Dr. Frank Whaley fill out TPS reports. Because there is a TPS folder on that computer display below the Alaska folder.

Man, I hope he remembers to use the new coversheet or he will really get in trouble. I wonder if he got the memo ?
And for some reason there is also a Vader folder -- which kind of hammers home the point that these guys are truly evil.

I don't remember the context of Beverly saying she never saw planes overhead. Was she asked, or did she volunteer this information?
In Episode 2 after they remove the chip from Ethan's leg Beverly and Ethan are walking around in town and Ethan says, "There's hardly any cars around here." Beverly says, "Yeah, cars. I haven't seen a single airplane the whole time I've been here."

Everyone wasn't in a car accident. The realtor guy that died woke up in WP after spending the night with Pam in a hotel. I think pretty much everyone else that has talked about how they got there was in some sort of "accident."The abductions by way of automobile 'accidents' -- This is the weirdest one. Why did Pilcher need everyone to think they'd had an accident before arriving. Didn't anyone ask anyone else "What's the last thing you remember before arriving?" and question why everyone's answer was the same?

There was a shot of a girl watching the helicopter fly over when it was carrying Burke to the control center/HQ/ whatever it is. (I think.)That only means the helicopter never flew over Wayward Pines. So if the helicopter was only flying to and from the town it wouldn't go overhead. I'd like to know where they keep it that it doesn't have abbies crawling all over it, waiting for them.
ETA: Just checked. It's at the beginning of Episode 6.

Why didn't he just put that money in a safety deposit box at the bank? It's not like he just found out his mother was a lunatic and could not be trusted to not find and spend his $20,000. He owes her for carrying him to term and raising him? Nice....
Or just keep it at your own place so you always know where it's at. I really can't think of any reason to leave it at his mother's trailer. Had it supposedly been in that closet for years and he just now went to get it and found out it was gone?

So what was with the fake crickets in the first ep? That seemed significant. Does it mean there are no animals of any kind? And yet, Pilcher chooses to fake crickets so the residents will think WP is normal? They don't notice the lack of spiders or flies or mosquitoes? Or birds? Or pets? And yet they eat meat, so there are animals (buffalo) somewhere. And if animals are still around, why fake crickets? Gah!
We've seen the Abbies eat a deer, seen people walking dogs and heard birds chirping but I think that's about all the animals I can remember.
