  1. But that’s the thing! She got married at 18 for a DECADE and no kids. She knows all about BC.
  2. She is shocked, shocked that another country could have a clean hospital!
  3. How convenient that Mama Ari’s hotel had 3 beds. The apartment freak outs were not a producer set up from the beginning at all.
  4. Oh, right. Kenny’s weird freak out about Mexico. Let’s see how else TLC ruins this couple tonight.
  5. I can’t wait for Mama Ari to be a cringy American and ask about baby stealing in scary ol’ Addis.
  6. David can’t even read with expression. He has two modes: flat or scoffing anger.
  7. Of course not. Just the usual creepy Dave and Ed and the humorless Steph.
  8. “There’s no reason for me to even think about talking to her!” Right-o, Dave. No reason at all to actually talk with the girlfriend appliance. That’s not what she’s there for! creep
  9. For sure. Hanging with the snarkers is the best. In fact, the only way I’ll watch the Duggars show again would be if we could have a live chat for that show, too.
  10. WHAT is this music for Larissa’s intro? So dramatic.
  11. Hey, please stop peeking in my kitchen! *sigh* It wasn’t always like this, but quarantine has drastically lowered my standards as well as raised my need for quick, comfort food.
  12. I mean, if you can get take-out pizza in the area, then it’s probably not that foreign to them. I’m sure Michael’s family has eaten pizza before.
  13. And Libby’s family is rude AF. There are no winners in this storyline, except maybe Andrei’s mom and dad.
  14. I find Americans are generally loathe to talk directly about money, so it feels so weird and uncouth for Father Libby to just straight up ask Andrei what his cop salary was. Not that I expect that family to have manners or decorum.
  15. Friend: Are you dumb? Followed by Larissa explaining that she’s different because her life’s had a 360 turn around.
  16. That sister has the sternest look I think I’ve ever seen.
  17. See, what’d I say? Sugar on baked vegetables is truly a unique American creation...and very confusing to others. 😂
  18. I’ve lived overseas for years, and inviting non-Americans to Thanksgiving is the best annual tradition. Hands down, the food non-Americans get the most confused by is sweet potato casserole. They can’t ever fathom marshmallows and brown sugar on vegetables. Lol
  19. Oh Kenny, horchata is not a plot by Armando to trick you!
  20. Oh, gross! Having missed this episode, I didn’t realize Ed refused to take a test himself. What an ass! Not to mention, there’s plenty of western clinics in Manila.
  21. Well, women’s speech—or markers of feminine speech in men—tend to be more harshly criticized, so I’m not surprised. Don’t get me started on the disproportionate negativity women get for vocal frys. /linguistics nerd rant
  22. Oooh... TLC don’t fuck up Kenny and Armando! Just had to get that out now while watching the promo. I’m sure man6 of us will be repeating it a lot tonight!
  23. Just like in the US, not every single person uses uptalk, but it is present in Australia. It’s often more common in women. Some linguists think it might be a(n) (unconscious) way for women to “hold the floor” longer in conversation.
