  1. In that Daily Caller article, is the photo of Sherri in the dentist's chair recent? Who does that??

Or, was it in connection with this:

You missed the toothbrush campaign??? She was a spokesperson for Oral B in the Fall of 2011
She talked about it constantly! (on the show, on Facebook, in every interview...
Here is an example (when newly married to Sal)
Sherri Shepherd Talks: Marriage Life, Divorce, Parenting & Advice On Catching A Man
    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/10/03/exclusive-sherri-shepherd-interview_n_993373.html

I wasn't aware of that Oral B campaign Sherri did. It must have been after I stopped watching the show. I only watched the first day of the season in September of 2011 and then deleted it from my DVR timers.

    From the HuffPo article:

"One of the things that I do that I've found from being newly married is that my husband and I, we go in the bathroom and brush our teeth together. And that's when we talk about what's going on in the day, so we get to bond that way," she recently told The Huffington Post. "Another powerful moment for me is my son: I've been teaching him how to brush his teeth by himself, so he has his own power toothbrush. And he loves it because it's fun for him."

WTH? How do you talk while you brush your teeth?? First of all, I can't stand being around anyone taking care of personal hygiene and grooming. If my husband brushes his teeth with the electric toothbrush with the bathroom door open while I'm in the bedroom, I ask him to shut the door. Occasionally, he'll walk out of the bathroom and start trying to talk to me and I laughingly scream something to the effect of, "OMG can't you wait and tell me in two freaking minutes when you're done?" We have a huge bathroom with two sinks and a ton of space in between, but I like to be in there alone.

But, hey what do I know? Sherri says you can bond with your husband if you talk while brushing your teeth together. Silly me, after over 15 years of marriage, I didn't know that.

Speaking of marriage, she has some interesting quotes in the HuffPo article. It's from October 2011, just three months after she married Sal.

    Among several goodies, there's this:

Although the nation has fluctuating divorce rates, Shepherd had no qualms about the institution itself. In fact, her rocky past has prepared the "30 Rock" actress for her current marriage. "I think that the children are the losers in this. I can't judge anybody because I got divorced,” she added. "It was hard. I kind of ran out of steam. Hopefully with this [marriage], I say, 'Gosh, this is the person that I want to go through life with.' So I'm feeling that I'm willing to push through the difficulties with this marriage."

Considering it appeared that she very abruptly ended the marriage after just two and a half years, (whaaat? no Christian couples counseling?), it didn't seem like she was very willing to work through difficulties. It's a shame she put her son through that roller coaster, not to mention the new baby that she was determined to have.

  2. Yeah, I worded that wrong. I figured the producers wanted him to explain it to his wife for benefit of the viewers. As you said, the viewers know a lot more than this idiot.

It was nice not seeing him at all in the last episode, and Amber only having a small part. I dread them being in next week's episode, especially if he's playing lawyer. Tiny boy really has issues.

ETA:  I just learned in the thread for last week's episode that the show isn't on this Sunday. It's going to kill little Jimmy not to be getting so much Twitter attention for a week. I'm sure he will think of some stunt to keep it going. Too bad his mortgage business is clearly very slow at the moment, lol.

  3. A friend of mine, who is in Italy for a year, and has a blog about it, was recently contacted by HHI. They have been living there 6 months when contacted. We all convinced her NOT to do it. When she posted on facebook asking if she should do it or not, one friend was all IMPRESSED that she was found through her blog: "wow your blog must be so well-known, well-read and popular if HHI found it!" I was thinking No, not really. Someone's job is to troll for blogs about Americans living overseas. Thankfully she did not do it.

A few months ago, after reading about an episode of HHI here, I checked the person's blog which someone here linked to. I can't remember what episode it was, but I starting browsing around on old posts on her blog and I saw a comment by an HHI producer telling her they'd like to talk to her about possibly being on the show.

  4. Ratings down again this week-and this episode had a girl fight and a fist full of extension hair:  http://bravoratings.com/2014/05/15/real-housewives-of-new-jersey-season-6-ratings/2/

That was for Episode 4 on August 3rd. I just checked that site and ratings went back up for Episode 5, and then dipped back down for Episode 6. No news yet for this week's episode (ep 7).

  5. Could Melissa's puppy be a Skip breed?

Maybe I misheard, but it sounded like Joe Gui told Teresa about the brand and the brawn, rather than the brain. He then said something like she looked like she could make the brand? I was having trouble hearing.

Perhaps Amber feels a need to grow her hair as much as possible since she lost it with the cancer. I think they showed a picture of her with no hair on a past episode. I feel badly judging her hair because of this. Plus, it seems thick, which I think is best if a person is going to grow it super long. Oh, and short little Jim does need Amber's hair, so he can yell, "Rapunzel, Rapunzel, letdown your hair!" from the ground.

BWAHAHAHAHA!!  I didn't even see that one coming and I'm laughing my ass off here.

As far as the dog, I immediately thought it looked like a Schipperke because my uncle had one years ago and he looked just like that one as a puppy. They're pretty energetic dogs, as far as I know. Smart too.

  6. Oh, thank goodness I wasn't here all afternoon after that bullshit article posted by CattyTiger. You all said it all and saved me so much typing, especially susieq147. I couldn't agree with all of you more!

I could pick apart each and every sentence of that article, but I'll just add something that hasn't been mentioned here yet:

I had to do a stand-up gig in the Bahamas, and I thought Jeffrey’s assembly was at a different time, and he said, ‘mommy it’s today.’ And, he had been working on the song, Frère Jacques for three months, and that’s all he talked about. Do you know, that I cried on the way to the airport? I cried on the plane; I cried with my opening on the stage, and as they were saying, ‘welcome to the stage, she’s been on Dancing with the Stars; she’s been on The View’, I was crying. The only time I didn’t cry was for the hour that I had to make people laugh. But, when I said thank you, goodnight, I went to my room and I cried. That guilt… but I knew doing this gig, I had to pay the bills.”

Such, such bullshit!! How much did that stand-up gig in the Bahamas pay? She did it while still employed by The View (for big bucks), so don't freaking act like a poor single mom of a special needs child who has to take a crappy, undesirable, inconvenient job because she very much needs the money! I hate when she does that!

I was just reading Sherri's twitter & had that thought, is that why she was getting, in her words:"glammed up"?

So maybe her pic last night of the goodies at the W Hotel was in LA not NYC.

She will place herself in front of every camera she sees so we should know soon!!

I think she was out in LA for a TV show. She posted some more on Instagram and on Twitter:

    Sherri Shepherd @SherriEShepherd  ·  8h
    Laughs all morning w @JennaUshkowitz ("Glee") filming #CelebrityNameGame - I want to work w this… http://instagram.com/p/sIweq7ILvI/

    Sherri Shepherd @SherriEShepherd  ·  50m
Plane taking off.. Finished working and headed back to NYC. Cable bill… Mortgage… Jeffrey’s therapy… All paid for now - thank you Jesus!

She's really working that poor, hard-working single mom angle, isn't she? It's so fucking insulting that she acts like she desperately needs these small gigs right now to pay the bills when in just the first eight months of this year she probably made more than most mothers will make in decades!

And, while I'm at it, I just have to say that I think she is mostly full of shit with all her God and Jesus stuff. I've noticed that whenever I read her fans' replies on Twitter and Instagram most of them mention how God is taking care of her, he has good things in store for her, Jesus, God, blah, blah, blah. I think she throws that  religion stuff out there constantly because she knows that it created a fan base for her and they are very loyal as long as they consider her a fellow Christian woman. Just look at the two comments posted on that article CattyTiger posted. That's her delusional fan base!

  7. New York Daily reported that The View staffers are returning to work today and are now located in a new studio/building. With behind the scenes staffers now back at work, chances are better that there will be leaks about who the new cohosts will be. Or maybe ABC will make a formal announcement right after Labor Day?

I think it was this article:

    http://www.nydailynews.com/entertainment/gossip/confidential/watch-kelly-ripa-rosie-o-donnell-share-building-article-1.1915286

  8. My DVR said DNA is blue too. Dina mulling over her divorce is boring.

The VG gossip about Rino is strange. I think the twins spouting that all a woman needs is Dunkin donuts and oral sex is more head-shaking for their kids to see on TV than VG gossiping. I don't like the twins, they appear unstable. In the reality show spectrum I mean super cuckoo not just Guidice, Gorga, Manzo, run of the mill unstable.

It said that on my episode description on DirecTV - I was "DNA is BLUE?  What the hell?  Is someone taking a paternity test?"

I think someone slipped on the keyboard "Dina is blue makes a helluva lot more sense.

Okay, thanks. I thought it was me. Yeah, it was obviously a mistake, and was supposed to say "Dina is blue".

The Dina "story line" could not be more boring. Her life is a snoozefest, as is her personality.

    Speaking of boring:

Amber hasn't brought anything interesting to the show. Watching Jim constantly break the fourth wall Kool-Aid man-style is the only thing that is marginally entertaining about them.

Exactly. What's Amber's contribution? She doesn't have much going on in her life, really. Stupid phony family fire drills, the dumb ass commercial for the mortgage co, and of course shit stirring with the twins.

On last night's episode, she was completely unnecessary. She never would have gone all the way out to Long Island for Teresa's signing event just because she had never been to one, which is why she claimed to be there. Obviously, Bravo had her go there just so she had something to do and would have a couple of scenes to appear in at the store and at Victoria Gotti's house.

Her other scene earlier in the show was totally contrived as well. Showing up to Amber's house under the pretense of wanting to comfort her over her aunt's death due to cancer because Amber had cancer over five years ago? As if that little scene would have occurred without the Bravo show. Such bullcrap.

The tabloids were reporting last winter that Teresa was so boring and not "bringing" it this season, that the producers called in Victoria Gotti to liven things up.  The wine event was in April.

I think not only did the producers call VG in, they also fed her the bullshit story about Rino and Santa.

Victoria's been wearing those insanely long and horrible blond/white extensions for years, since at least as far back as her reality show with her sons. She would look so much better with a shoulder length cut and a softer, more normal shade.

  9. Put me in that pure maple syrup category too. We go to the maple syrup festival in one of our county parks every March where you can see the whole process from start to finish by identifying and tapping maple trees, collecting sap, and seeing syrup made over a wood-fired evaporator. They have a blind taste test where you can test the differences between maple syrups (a store bought one made from corn syrup - yuck, a farm produced syrup made from sugar maple trees, and the syrup made from the red maple trees at that county park). Before we leave we visit the farmer who has a table there and we buy syrup, plus usually maple flavored coffee, and maple flavored pancakes (overkill, I know, lol).

For dinner tonight Mr. LB made lite kielbasa and sauerkraut. I know some people hate that dish, but I love the way he makes it. He sautées an onion in olive oil in the cast iron pan. Then he slices the kielbasa on the bias and adds that to the pan to brown it. Then, he adds the sauerkraut and kind of browns it a bit. You have to use the sauerkraut in the bag. It's a million times better than canned sauerkraut, which I'd never use again. He had his on a roll, I had my plain, and we also had mashed potatoes and a salad. The kid would never eat that stuff, so he had leftover pasta.

  10. Good luck, let me know how it comes out.

We're having New York steaks and baked potatoes.  We don't have a grill, so I cook steaks in the toaster oven.  They come out okay, and we don't have to turn on the oven.

Rick Kitchen, the pot roast came out pretty good. Mr. LB loved it and said it reminded him of his mom's! I did a tiny bit of tweaking to the recipe: I'm not all that crazy about A1 to begin with and after I read the reviews to the recipe and saw some people thought the A1 was overpowering, I cut it back considerably and added some beef broth instead. I think the balance worked well for us.

Also, the recipe called for Onion-Mushroom soup mix and I couldn't find that. So, I used Lipton's Beefy Onion soup mix and in the last hour of cooking I threw some quartered large mushrooms into the slow cooker, which I had planned on doing anyway. It came out really good. Plus, I rarely add salt to to my plate, but I do think the dish needed a bit of salt. Next time, I'll salt and pepper the roast before cooking.

    Also, this:

Slow cooker hint for pot roast. Brown the meat really well in a medium high cast iron skillet before adding to the recipe. Doesn't take too long and adds an amazing depth of flavor. My tip to you!

mansonlamps, I went against my better judgment and skipped that part. I figured I'd just cook it as the recipe said to the first time I made it. However, next time I plan to saute some garlic in olive oil and brown the roast in that first, (in addition to salt and pepper, I think the dish could use some garlic).

  12. In the thread for episode 4, I posted:

When Rino told Jim that Jim didn't want to hang out with them because he's an attorney, Jim said:

Just so you guys are aware, I'm not an attorney. Did I pass the bar? Absolutely. Do I practice law? No.

That is an exact quote from Jim which I typed as I watched it on my DVR.

So, Amber, STOP saying your husband is an attorney. Even he says he is not, even though he only said that because he was on camera. Rino and the others thought he was an attorney because Tiny Jimmy has probably been telling them all that for years. He is nothing but a slimy salesman, a wanna-be attorney, and a bullshitting asshole!

ETA:  Jim is not a member of the bar of NJ. His LinkedIn claims that he graduated Seton Hall law school, (no year mentioned). I find it extremely hard to believe that he would go through three years of law school and pass the bar but not get admitted. Instead, he went into pharmaceutical sales for a few companies.

Since Jimmy loves trying to prove himself, could someone on Twitter please challenge him to prove it by posting a pic of his bar results?

  13. That's so weird! I started the thread earlier today and I thought I had the title correct. But, I came back to this thread as I was about to watch the episode on my DVR and the episode title (DISH satellite) says "DNA". I thought that was odd and wondered how I messed it up and put "Dina".

But, based on the description, "Dina" sounds correct.

Okay, please ignore my previous post then. Dish has the title messed up.

(No, I am not drinking, lol)

  14. It's possible if Sherrod Small is a large, black man who looks just like Lamar Sally!  I looked up the Approval Matrix and they may have been auditioning various guests before settling on the ones they chose.  I am beginning to feel stupid!!!!!!!!!

I checked the website and sure enough Mr. Small looks exactly like Lamar Sally!    I am so embarrassed....please forgive me!!!!!

LOL, I kind of figured that was the case but I was afraid to say so.

Is this odd, or not? I've seen a few Broadway shows although spur of the moment.

I called the ticket outlet for Cinderella and asked the dates SS would be performing. All they could say is starting 9/9. No end date.

Or do they just hope for the best and see how the reviews go? That could be limiting to a comic, mc, occasional movie or sitcom actress.

And the ticket prices seemed rather low for a Broadway show.

I Googled my ass off just a day ago looking for the length of her "limited run" and found no mention of the end date anywhere (read a bunch of articles, checked the websites, etc.), just the September 9th debut. I thought it was odd because some fans might want to buy tickets only for when she's still there performing.

It's even more strange that you called and they won't tell you. What if you said you wanted tickets for October 10th but you want to make sure she's still there? I can't believe they won't tell people what dates she's there.

  15. After jet setting around Europe all summer, she's back in NYC. She's supposed to debut in the play in London on September 24th, so when does she start rehearsals?

    LiLo’s Ice Bucket Challenge fail

Lindsay Lohan’s triumphant return to New York night life continues to be a disaster.

After a lengthy trip to Europe, La Lohan is back in Manhattan and ready for drama. Not deterred after her credit card was refused as she tried to pay a $2,500 bill for a table of vodka at 1Oak Southampton on Saturday, the starlet headed back into the city for more action.

She appeared at Up & Down on Monday, where sources tell us she insisted on doing the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge in the middle of the venue, using two Champagne buckets.

While the former OWN star did drench herself with ice water, unfortunately nobody appears to have been focused enough to catch it on video for the ensuing social media blitz.

Tuesday night, Lindsay was back in action at 1Oak in Chelsea, where a huge commotion kicked off after she sat herself at the “high-roller table,” and then “was furious when the person who had a reservation for the table arrived and she was asked to move. She stormed out of the club.”

  16. marny, I read that somewhere also. So typical for this show!

ETA:  I think it was this article:

    http://www.eonline.com/news/568044/rosie-o-donnell-didn-t-want-to-upset-whoopi-goldberg-during-the-view-chemistry-test-plus-front-runners-revealed

    As for October's appeal?

"Whoopi liked her and her chemistry test was more of an on-air interview because she doesn't have very much experience compared to the other candidates," the source dished. "They initially picked her because they thought she was Latino but she actually isn't. Her last name is because of her partner Tony, but both Whoopi and Rosie liked Lauren and Nicolle so we'll see what happens."
  17. ^ Yuck.

Between reading the Wikipedia entry last night and this blog now, I was thinking that between the Provel cheese, the very thin cracker like crust, and the way it's cut into squares or rectangles, I wouldn't even call this pizza (sorry St. Louis!). As that blog says:

Don’t think of it as pizza

Personally, I make a very clear distinction between what the rest of the country calls pizza and what St. Louis calls pizza. If I am craving pizza, I do not order St. Louis style. To me, St. Louis style pizza is in its own category. It’s like a very cheesy, saucey cracker, but not quite as crunchy. While there are many die-hard St. Louis pizza fans that would claim our style is the best, there are also plenty of St. Louisians that agree with my point of view on the subject.

  18. Cheddar on pizza? Never heard of that and don't think I'd like it. Pizza needs mozzarella. Good, stringy mozzarella.
