  1. I just got caught up on this show this weekend and I haven't seen anyone mention this yet. For each episode, the charter guests' preferences that are shown briefly are listed in full on Bravo's website:

    Guest Dossier: Dean Slover's Charter

For the older episodes it's a little hard to find, so you can just Google the name of the primary charter guest and "Bravo Below Deck Guest Dossier" to find them.

While I find Kate a little unwelcoming to the guests, it's really annoying me that for the last two episodes (everyone except Georgia and friends), I don't think I've heard one guest say "please" or "thank you". I just hear things like, "I'll take anther mojito", or "I need more water". I've never worked in the service industry in any capacity, but I think that is rude as hell. There isn't one time in my life that I haven't prefaced a request with "please" and then said "thank you" when the item was delivered. My kid has been doing the same ever since he could talk. I'd have a bitchy face too if I had to wait on people like these no class charter guests.

  2. Does anyone know when this season was filmed vs. when Season 1 was aired?  I'm wondering if Kate and the other newbies had time to see the veterans of the show (Kat and Ben) in action before they started their "jobs"??

I just caught up on all these episodes over the weekend and I Googled one of the charter guests, Georgia Ricks from North Carolina, who was in the first two episodes. I checked out her Facebook page and they took the charter trip in January of this year.

  3. Last night after I posted some links to articles about the wedding I went back and read them, having only given them a quick look at first. That's when I realized the wedding was today, not yesterday. One article also said Donnie's mother was there, contrary to what TMZ claimed.

Still, I thought Sherri probably would have been in Chicago yesterday if the wedding was today. I'm surprised someone who flies as frequently as she does would take the chance and fly in on the same day of an event. You never know with flight delays, even in good weather. Plus, who wants to shower and get dressed up and have hair and makeup done and then fly? Yuck. Maybe it's me but the first thing I want to do after I reach my destination is take a shower. I would never want to go straight to a wedding with my hair and makeup done hours ago.

ETA: The wedding is being filmed for the Wahlbergs' reality show:

    http://couriernews.suntimes.com/2014/08/30/hollywood-wedding-draws-crowd-hotel-baker-st-charles/

A crowd gathered outside the Hotel Baker in downtown St. Charles early Saturday evening, hoping to catch a glimpse of Hollywood.

Former “View” co-host and Splash columnist Jenny McCarthy and “Wahlburgers” star Donnie Wahlberg were at the historic hotel in St. Charles preparing for a wedding, which was reportedly scheduled for Sunday.

One onlooker said a contact had been giving her updates all day and she arrived with a camera to zoom in across the street.

April Dennis of Brookfield had heard the rumors about the wedding preparations and had come out early. She and a friend were able to take a photo with Wahlberg’s mother earlier Saturday at a downtown St. Charles restaurant.

She’d seen two of Wahlberg’s former New Kids on the Block bandmates, Jordan Knight and Danny Wood, and Wahlberg’s brother Paul.

A film crew, apparently from the TV show “Wahlburgers,” was also seen on the street in front of the Hotel Baker.

A hostess at McNally’s Irish pub in downtown St. Charles said Donnie’s brothers Paul and Jim and their mother Alma had eaten there earlier Saturday.

“I knew who they were,” she said. “I just got them their food.”

Every dollar counts.  Not quite Colgate or Electrolux.

    http://www.ispot.tv/ad/7ry1/metamucil-meta-effect-featuring-michael-strahan

I saw that commercial recently and laughed so hard. Apparently, Metamucil is trying to re-brand itself as a product that helps you feel full between meals. They're emphasizing the "Meta" part of the name, and they added products like "Meta" fiber bars.

  5. Not sure if this has been mentioned before; but, Bobby, the Fireman is actually the heir to a billion dollar fortune. His family has owned (for generations) car dealerships all over NJ. Apparently, he's posing as a blue collar guy to get the "role" of Nicole's boyfriend. I was suspicious of his career when they showed his house at the "first responders" party. It seemed extravagant for a humble, hard working single fire fighter. So I googled his name, Bobby Ciasulli, and sure enough, threre is a website featuring photos of his sprawling 6000+ home, plus his foreign sports car collection.

I think someone mentioned it in some thread a while ago. That's when I realized that I knew the last name Ciasulli from their car dealerships. It's also when I figured that's why Nicole is interested in him. He's definitely got big bucks.

  6. WendyCR72, you're welcome. Definitely give them a try if you can find them. I love all their sweet potato fries, the Yukon gold fries, and the oven reds. The house cut fries and waffle fries are good too. Also, the onion rings.

BJ's Wholesale carries large bags of the onion rings and one or two of the fries.

    Bastet, that sounds delicious!

  7. Ice cream in a dish--what an innovation!  With fruit on top!  I don't know if I can handle such a difficult and original recipe.

Kind of like Retchel Ray's Microwaved Bacon recipe.

I see they got rid of the reviews, but then there's this.

She also used to have "recipes" on FN's site for Pineapple Wedges, and some other funny ones.

  8. Speaking only for myself (obviously) I kind of do hold men to the same standard. I know plenty of divorced men and women and I see them make decisions and sacrifices on a pretty regular basis in order to spend more time with their kids.

In my case, I'm married and my husband has more than once turned down an enormously lucrative career opportunity because it entailed a good bit of traveling and he didn't want to miss out on being there for our kid growing up. Like a lot of dads, he does what he can to be at most important school events and be there as much as possible for his child. I have also made career decisions and sacrifices for our family, as it's the number one priority in my life. We can always make money, but kids grow up very, very quickly.

In Sherri's case, we've all seen her do these side gigs all over the country for the past few years, all while holding a very well paying job at The View. A few side gigs here and there, I can see. But the way she seemingly took off every Thursday evening or Friday morning for some gig or event around the country  was a bit much. Most people in her shoes would enjoy that huge paycheck and be thrilled that it came with so many weeks and months off per year, as well as three day weekends they could spend with their kids. Wouldn't we all love a four day a week gig that paid so terrifically well? Instead, we see Sherri with a huge paycheck from The View flying somewhere on most weekends for some gig, which - it's so funny -  almost always is coordinated with plenty of me time and time with her friends.

  9. Judge finalizes ‘Sister Wives’ ruling as both sides prepare for appeals

Courts » He also says Utah County attorney violated the Brown family’s rights during investigation.

By Nate Carlisle | The Salt Lake Tribune

A federal judge on Wednesday finalized the order striking part of Utah’s bigamy law and gave one more victory to the family from the television show "Sister Wives."

The long legal battle over polygamy in Utah now appears headed to the appeals courts. Utah Attorney General Sean Reyes has said he would appeal the federal court ruling when it became final. Kody Brown and his four wives, too, have been prepared for more rounds in the courts.

Jonathan Turley, the attorney for the Brown family, encouraged Reyes to reconsider his plan to appeal.

"Attorney General Reyes takes an oath to protect the Constitution and that is exactly what this decision does," Turley said in an interview Wednesday. "For the state of Utah to appeal this case, it will have to go to [the appeals court in] Denver and argue against the freedom of religion."

A statement from Reyes’ office on Wednesday said attorneys are reviewing the decision.

Federal Judge Clark Waddoups in December struck the section of Utah’s bigamy statute that can be applied when someone "cohabits with another person" to whom they are not legally married. Utah law made such a union a felony punishable by up to five years in prison. Waddoups said the ban violated the First and 14th amendments to the Constitution.

Waddoups let stand the portion of the statute that prevents someone from having more than one active marriage license.

In the final portion of his ruling Wednesday, Waddoups found the Utah County Attorney Jeff Buhman violated the Browns’ constitutional rights when he oversaw a 2010 investigation into whether the Brown family was committing bigamy. At the time the Browns lived in Lehi. They have since moved to Nevada. Buhman eventually decided not to file criminal charges, but Waddoups said the investigation stifled the Browns’ rights to free speech, religion and equal protection.

Waddoups ordered Utah to pay the Browns’ attorney fees as a result of that finding.

In court filings and oral arguments before Waddoups, attorneys for Utah have argued polygamy is inherently harmful to woman and children and the state had an interest in deterring it.

The Browns filed their lawsuit in July 2011, arguing Utah’s law violated their right to privacy. The family’s argument relied primarily on the 2003 U.S. Supreme Court decision that struck down the Texas law banning sodomy, which was celebrated by gay rights advocates.

Reyes’ office is already appealing a marriage ruling that came days after the bigamy ruling. That second ruling struck down Utah’s ban on same-sex marriage.''

"Sister Wives" chronicles the lives of Kody, Meri, Janelle, Christine and Robyn Brown and their children. Utah County authorities began their investigation of the family after their show debuted.

  10. We were planning on leftovers for Friday night, but changed plans. On his way home from playing golf Friday evening, Mr. LB was stopping at this bakery that makes great bread and rolls. It's also a deli/cafe, so he decided to pick up some sandwiches for dinner. He had a Philly cheese steak sandwich and I had an Italian sandwich on their ciabatta roll. We also split a cold antipasto salad.

So, tonight he cleaned out the fridge and had leftovers, as did the kid. I wasn't too hungry so I had some Pepperidge Farms cinnamon swirl bread (the one without raisins) and iced coffee.

Planning on salmon tomorrow, and London broil on Monday.

  11. I gotta say... he is a musician..... a good guitar player ..... but that whiny nasal voice that country music seems so proud of .....drives me nuts

OMG, if anyone ever wants to torture me, just lock me in a room and pipe that in nonstop. It would be worse than water boarding.

I wonder if yesterday's show was one of the extra shows they made to test April, er, October with an audience.  They did a couple with her and Whoopi and Rosie, right?  I must say she didn't make much of an impression.  She was pleasant enough, but just kind of there.  I had to laugh at Sherri getting her name wrong.  Did Sherri know at this point that October was going to get her job?  The name mix up = passive aggressive much?

I didn't see the show, but based on what I've read here, that's what I was thinking.

  12. At this very late date, could it be true that Rosie hasn't been informed who her new co-hosts are??

Frankie Pitt writes:   August 29, 2014 12:00 am
Do you know who the new cohosts are?

    (Rosie's reply):
    no

Also, before that one, there was this:

    Mary writes:   August 27, 2014 6:53 pm
Do you know when the new hosts' names will be announced?

    (Rosie's reply):

    no

  13. If she was really in the dentist's office this morning, then she obviously didn't go to Chicago for Jenny's wedding. But, I thought they were such great friends, and she loves Jenny and Donnie soooo much.

Then again, you never know with Sherri's tweets. That pic could be from another day and she just tweeted it today to throw people off.

Honestly, I think his daughter's 11th birthday party is a bullshit excuse. The wedding date had to have been known months ago and they could have had the birthday party the weekend before or the weekend after, IF they really did want to attend the wedding.

Looks like they at least had nice weather today.

  15. Anyone know what she said?

That TMZ link has a clip from Howard's show. Howard asked her how many people will be at the wedding and Jenny said about 80. Then he asked if Mark Wahlberg will be at the wedding and Jenny said she would imagine yes.

Howard said he heard that Mark doesn't approve of her and Jenny said that it's not true, she's happy to say. Howard asked if Jenny has met Mark and Jenny replied yes she has, and his wife too and they are very lovely.

Then Jenny said let her explain why he (Donny) is the one, but Howard cut her off and told her not to run away from the Mark Wahlberg question. Jenny said that's not true, it's not true (about Mark not approving). Howard insisted that Mark, at first, was against her being with Donny, and Jenny said, no, she swears on her life that's not true, that from day one he's been so awesome.

Howard asked about when she met Mark and Jenny said it was a couple of months ago. Howard asked if it was at Mark's house and Jenny said they keep talking about Mark, but she got the best Wahlberg. Howard made a crack about whether Mark "popped a rod" when they met and Jenny said she didn't notice. She just kept blabbing on that she has the best guy, he's the one, etc.

I remember a while back someone posted here about Mark's wife's Twitter. She was posting about Jenny on Twitter, apparently not happy that Jenny said they would be at the wedding. I'm not sure if it's this Stern interview that got her angry.

I think it was this tweet:

    Rhea W.Verified account ‏@rheadur

I don't like when people lie about my husband to make theirselves relevant.....tacky!

    10:00 PM - 14 Jul 2014

I just went back in this thread to see what was posted on July 14th and that's it. Jenny's appearance on Howard Stern's show was on July 14th. It starts on Page 2 of this thread with this post:

    http://forums.previously.tv/topic/4869-jenny-mccarthy-she-doesnt-want-kids-to-get-vaccinated/?p=198228

She was on Howard Stern's show this morning.  I don't have Sirius XM, but the one thing I gathered was when she was asked if she was fired from the show she said "Yes and No."  Uh...that normally means yes.

Her new job is going to Sirius XM.

     Then, this post:

Hell, she's cracking me up about the wedding plans. People.com reports that on Saturday she said it will be in a few weeks...just one day after she said they're Still working on the guest list. This morning it went back to a few months. Make up your mind!

The best part was her future sister in law was getting confused (she's married to Mark Wahlberg):

    https://twitter.com/rheadur/status/488738157873999874

I remember checking that tweet out at the time, but I see it's since been deleted. I think maybe more tweets were deleted too. The only remaining one is the one I quoted above. I remember more tweets and she had fans replying to the tweets.

Also, the conversation continues on Page 3 of this thread where some of us expressed surprise at what was being tweeted (and since deleted - which is why I always like to cut and paste things here):

    http://forums.previously.tv/topic/4869-jenny-mccarthy-she-doesnt-want-kids-to-get-vaccinated/page-3

In the meantime, I see Mark's wife Rhea is tweeting about their daughter's birthday party today, but Mark just tweeted this:

    Mark Wahlberg @mark_wahlberg  ·  6h

Congratulations @DonnieWahlberg and @JennyMcCarthy, so happy for you both today.

    Mark Wahlberg @mark_wahlberg  ·  2h

    http://on.fb.me/1qf7FIM  @DonnieWahlberg @JennyMcCarthy

That link is to a Facebook post Mark did. It's a quick video of him, his wife, and their four kids saying "Congratulations" to Donnie and Jenny. His wife looks less than thrilled.

    @iamValC always & forever #yourboothang ... love you big head! #mysalsapartnerforlife

    At first glance, I saw:

"My Sal's a partner for life"...not "My salsa partner for life".

ETA:  Given all the heavy campaigning she's doing for DWTS All Stars, I bet she has inside word that the next season (next Spring?) will be an All Stars edition.

  17. I wish them all the best, but I'm afraid you can put me in the doubters column on this one as well. I'm thinking this union will last 2 to 5 years max. 5ish if they spend a lot of time apart; 2ish if they spend a lot of time together. Guess we'll just have to watch his hairline for signs.

Yes, I was thinking we should place our bets on whether it will last as "long" as Sherri's second marriage lasted.

I totally agree with you on the 2 to 5 years max, and the reasoning for the shorter length or longer length.
